Megatune, or tuner studio port to wp7 - Windows Phone 7 Software Development

Hey everybody,
Anybody into the megasquirt stand alone ecu? Its a DIY engine management system for your project car. Unfortantly requires the use of a laptop, w/ megatune,or tuner studio software to do the tuning. Is there anyone here that could port megatune, or tuner studio to wp7? It would be the dopest **** ever to tune my car with my cell phone running wp7 and I'm sure others would like it to. I'm sure we could get a bounty going to get this port moving if its possible. I know id be willing to pay 30-50 bux for a port. Anyone interested in this?

new concept

if anybodys a member at mp3car.com then you may already know this.
heres what a couple guys over there are working on. theyre developing it for the iphone, but im hoping with enough interest somebody can get something like this going for winmo. anyway what theyre doing is allowing the iphone to accept input devices via bluetooth such as a mouse and keyboard and are currently working on an external touch screen monitor. heres a vid of the mouse and keyboard in action

a lot of you probably are thinking whats the point? well if one of your hobbies is in car entertainment then this is going to completely change the way people mod their cars.
i would LOVE to have something like this for tp2 and would definitely be willing to pay for the software.
hopefully this sparks some developers interest and can get it rollin!
theres so much NEW technology being released just TODAY for similiar things it will blow your mind. Look up the current CES in vegas. I use the Engadget site to check up on things take a peak.
Oh yeah awesome new concept. By the way Ford is allowing developers open access to their new hybrids check that out too

[Q] Running ps groove(ps jailbreak code) inside windows mobile?

Someone already created an application for running PSgroove on Nokia N900(android). Is it possible for us to have this on HTC diamond or other windows mobile phones.
It's basically emulating a dongle inside our phones. Does anyone have any idea how to do this?
hello,
the N900 port is not the same as Android, Nokia N900 have a Linux based OS but it's not Android, I have an Xperia X1 myself, and today I already downloaded Android for X1 and prepared it on my X1 just to test with it when the Android port is out soon....
in case it works, i will post all needed steps
You're right. N900 is pure Linux, but still the developer said it will be ported to android too. Damn, The only group that will miss this nice program will be us, windows mobile users, at least in the high end mobile category anyways.
it's a good idea for you now to download Android for Xperia x1 and get the feel of it, u can revert back to WM simply by restarting, this way u can be ready when the android release is out, and let's hope it can run on this emulated Android/Xperia,the Guy working on the Android port said it has to be rooted (Super User privilege) and i think this Android release is rooted, because when i run Terminal Emulator in Android and switch to su, then type id, i got id=0 ( and 0 is root ) so let's keep our fingers crossed
Source code for linux phone released
The author has already released the source for the N900 port - linux.
http://github.com/kakaroto/PSFreedom
I looked briefly in the code and it seems pretty simple actually, except for coding the Hub stuff (there I lost it)...
I think it is not that hard to code a simple app that could do it on Windows Mobile directly, considering that our devices are capable of emulating a USB hub...
Maybe some experienced coder could give it a go??

Yeah, that's the catch. How to program USB in windows mobile?
this project has my support. Sorry, cannot contribute to coding, but am free to test!
I am also interested in this project and I am waiting impatiently to test the PSGroove on Windows mobile

me too i want it on my kaiser
touch pro2 user wanting this also, i know nothing about porting code but i am willing to test it!
Using Android to do this should be possible
Sorry everybody, I'm hedging my bets that there will not be a windows mobile port of PSGROOVE.
The reason ports have been landing on Linux/Android devices so quickly is because Linux/Android is open source and toying with drivers, controllers and the kernel is very easy. Windows Mobile is a very closed platform and even though the hardware might pose a problem, the OS is likely to be the deciding factor in the viability of something like a PSGROOVE port. Some operating systems such as Unix-based ones are designed to be easy to develop on at low level, others are not.
This is why we can have Android on WinMo devices and not iOS. This is why Linux and TI-84 already have ports of PSGROOVE but the iPhone port is as yet unreleased.
Far more likely is a version for an Android port on our devices. I'm not guaranteeing anything, and I'm not ruling anything out. Just a heads up.
I would like to understand how the code works, anybody knows a good documentation of that exploit?
maybe im missing something, but why is psgroove being ported (mainly) to phones ... wouldnt a laptop be a better choice? ... Someone please help a noob

You have a double male usb-a cable 5meter laying around? Nearly anybody has. Your phone is much smaller and you have a fitting cable everywhere

That's not the reason. USB controllers for the PC don't have a USB host function, which is essential for this hack. That's why you can't use you PC for this hack.
You can use a computer for that they are an usb host, usb-sticks are normally not . Install linux and have fun
here it is HD2 android psgroove port

the original psgroove files(they recently updated teh shellcode to give lvl2 peek/poke calls

Openpsjailbreak which allows bdvd emulation
its basically the same as the ps groove only 4 values where changes
(0x78 0x78 0x78 0x78 to 0x62 0x64 0x76 0x64)this one needs to be updated to add the lvl2 peek/poke calls

This port would be so bad just need to be able to make a usb hub emulator that can change the device address of multiple devices at one.
The descriptor for it is really easy to make. and one the hub is created just need to implement the exploit in the order described(port1,port2,port3,dc port2,port4, port 5 ,dc port3)
and port 6 is not neccesary at all to run the exploit it had the original use of just acting as a test to make sure the exploit worked and made the dongle led turn green. cuased a lvl1 panic if the device was ever removed)
The main issue with a windows mobile version is making the usb hub as we dont have that much in terms of open source drivers. So if someone could emulate a usb hub through there device we could easily get this rolling.
Would be nice to see this on my i900
if no tthis the only way i coul dthink of is to try to put linux on phone and porting from the n900. an dno not andromnia android linux it would be ubuntu linux
stupid new user cant post links
Hey guys, Evo owner here , i posted in the evo section and got 2 replies via PM's. I have 4 chips that are flashable for sale. I bought 6 Xplain boards and am using 2 of them. The other 4 are up for grabs. Let me know, more you want the less money ill offer them for. i respond VERY quickly to messages, thanks.

Help port android on Sony Dash.

can someone help port android on my sony dash
As for the Sony Dash tech specs, it's got the 7-inch touchscreen with gesture support and a WVGA 800x480 resolution. The Wi-Fi is 802.11b/g and it includes a 500mhz processor. And accelerometer.
this is able to support android hardware wise. ive seen android phones with 500mz processor running 2.1
Hope this gets done
I just recently got a Sony Dash. It's nice looking with a nice screen and I like the capacitive touch, but other than that, I'm not too impressed. I don't like any of the available themes, and it is very slow and sluggish. I don't like how it doesn't have any kind of storage and has to re-download anytime the theme or channel apps are changed.
Basically, I think this thing would be a ton better with Android on it. Android widgets are a ton better than the Chumby apps and I would prefer having a "home" screen where I can place them anywhere I want rather than being locked into the half dozen available themes. I hope somebody takes on this project.
Does anyone have news about being able to port Android onto Sony Dash?

I would be willing to contribute a Dash to someone that is legit and could get something done for this. I just got the new HID B70 with the battery and the OS is awful! If anyone can do it, I know it's the guys on this site, you guys are the best!
Yeah, the OS is definitely awful. That Chumby crap sucks hard if you are used to Android.
Any chance there is someone working on this?
Count me in
I was looking at a Dash on Sellout.woot for $79, for my 6 y.o. daughters room. I would buy several these if someone ported android to it. This has all the makings of an incredible clock radio with android. The stock OS does seem to suck. For the development community, i think this has the same potential as the gTab. A fine piece of hardware with a crappy OS, but this would add a new category. As a nerd, (I am a chemist, unfortunately not a an android wonk), I find this to be a great opportunity.
To give a commercial value to this, I would buy the ported software for ~$20. While $20 from one guy is not interesting, perhaps this is something that could be sold and really up the value of the Dash. If 20% of Dash buyers bought the android port, it could be worthwhile as a business. God knows sony dumped a load into it.
Here's what I could dig up on the Sony Dash.

Probably the biggest barrier is a lot of the Sigma Designs stuff is closed source. From what I found here:

Access to the SDK is expensive.
Sony is shutting down their developer server in February 2013. Now would be a GREAT time to port Android onto the Dash...
I use a lot my sony dash and i hate the OS!
Its aweful!
I will pay 30 bucks by paypal to the guy who port android on the sony dash!.
theres a usb port so it willin't be too difficult to port it!
and theres nothing about this device on the web :s.
Sony just stopped to support it so it could be the great moment to port it before we can't do anything with it!
You can find all the softs for the chumby at the sony site
i would donate 30 bucks also
I would gladly donate to an android on dash project.
I would also donate to a project for Android 2.x on the dash.
In fact we might be able to use Cofundos.org to supply a method to fund development: http://cofundos.com/
I'm in for $30 as well. Really need to get this thing hacked
What's the first step? Compile an Android-compatible kernel, and flash it to the Dash and see if it boots?
If so, we have kernel source, so that part should be possible.
But, how do we flash a custom kernel? Anyone know?

Hello,
I will put up 50 or what deal we have to to get this done, need someone to take this tv (insignia ns-42e859a11) that is running a chumby app system and make it run the android app system. I can give any info need on my tv and android if needed.
I also found this and wanted to see if this might help in some kinda way.

The Sony Dash is slowly being shut down by Sony.
I'll offer $40 US to anyone who can port a 4.0+ Android ROM to the Dash with working WiFi.
I hate to bump such an old topic, but it seems like there hasn't been any development here at all. I wanted to chime in with some of my findings.
Kit Wood at hackadashery.blogspot[dot]com (sorry, can't post links, new member!) has made some discoveries.
Also, using netcat, its apparent that the Dash is pretty closed down. Port 22 is a no-go, while 53, 139, 445, 548, appear to be open.
Attached is the control panel swf, as well as all the assets I was able to pull from the swf file. Nothing too exciting, it seems. If anyone knows anything about swfs, take a look.
This thing is truly a bizarre device.
swf source code
I was able to extract the swf source code.

[Q] Development request!?

Is there currently, could there be, or can someone port Android OS to a car stereo head unit, such as a Pioneer AVICz1, Kenwood DNX9980, or in my case (the cheap version), an Xtrons TD717? These are 2Din units with touch interfaces, bluetooth, possible network capabilities, audio/video functionality, and a processor of some sort. I would be VERY willing to donate to such a venture, especially in the case of my model head unit (Xtrons TD717), because I would just LOVE to have PowerAmp and Google Music playing on screen as an "integrated" function. If there is someone out there that would be willing to undertake such a task, because I have NO CLUE how, please let me know...and we can exchange ideas and functions/features desired.
p.s. I'm new and did look around for related topics, but if this isn't the place to post this, I'm sorry. Please "kindly" inform me otherwise.
It would be much simpler -and cheaper - to just buy an Android unit.

AGL (Automotive Grade Linux)

Hi Everyone,
I have a Toyota Fortuner with a Fujitsu-Ten Entertainment system installed OEM.
After some poking and question asking, I worked out that the head unit is running AGL.
https://www.automotivelinux.org/
https://www.automotivelinux.org/
An operating system being supported by a large and growing number of car manufacturers who are aware of the dangers of using Google/Apple to power their entertainment systems and by the looks of things going to be building there own.
Subaru, Toyota, Ford are all releasing cars with head units running AGL
https://www.automotivelinux.org/about/members
As the source code the head units in the cars is available online, I was wondering if XDA-Developers forum might not be a possible home for people wanting to do similar things to their car head units to what they are doing to their cell phones.
https://www.denso-ten.com/support/source/oem/17/index.html
Can't find anything else online except for the official sites.
Thanks
JohnB
