Hi,
Recently I've been receiving delayed messages on my DHD.
Sometimes I only receive messages when clicking on the SMS Messages Icon.
I'm sure I have all messages notifications enabled because sometimes I do receive messages via the top bar notifications area.
Does anyone know whats happening with it?
Thanks,
OGEZZY
SMS on Android is dodgy in every way, could be anything really.

Are you using the latest 1.72 build? This one has an SMS notification bug (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=887098). Try a third party SMS app such as Handcent.
Thanks mate I've tried SMS GO and I love it! So far no delayed msgd!

Hi I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this
I'm using handcent SMS and i love it the only problem i've got is when im sending a sms or getting a sms it just appears. In the stock sms when you are sending a sms it has a litte effect when youre sending it while the bubble is apearing
Knows anybody how to do that in handcent?

I would suppose this feature should be requested from the developers of Handcent. I also use it and have never used the stock messaging app, so I have never noticed that effect until I tried it just now. Pretty nice eye candy...
That eye candy makes it, with that it would be the ultimate sms app
I'm sure I changed this in handset by going into it's "settings -> notification settings" and playing around in there.

are your sure? because i looked into thos settings and didnt find anything
I might have mis-understood you a bit. What is it that's appearing when you are sending and receiving texts?
I've got mine setup so when I send a text I receive a confirmation message in the status bar that it was sent.
And when I receive a message it's setup so a popup appears on the screen, displaying the message itself and the option of a quick reply.

I mean when you are in the main app and you are sending a message to somebody in handcent the message if you click send the bubble just appears . In stock sms for example you se how the bubble appears and beeing transfered into the list.
Like ZeroXtreme said it just nice eye candy nothing ultra important
Ah ok. I did misunderstand you lol.
I haven't used stock sms for a long time. I will have to check now.

Hey guys, bit of a random one, but just recently my phone has started going crazy whenever I receive or send SMS messages. I am running ARHD with the default clock speed settings. Also using the GoSMS Pro app as the stock messaging app was playing around, I think because I have too many messages stored on my phone.
Basically whenever I receive or send a message, the phone will almost completely freeze for about a minute and I cant really do anything at all until it has finished. Then it works fine again, I don't have any problems with anything else really so just wondering if anyone has any suggestions?
Is this likely to be a problem with my radio? Because I have too many messages stored? Or any other ideas what it might be?
Thx in advance if anyone had any ideas!

Which SMS app are you using? This behaviour isn't there in the stock messaging app.

Should take a look at your sms app - gosms and handcent sms for example have this option to turn on screen when a message arrives. Gosms has this option enabled and handcent sms not (as far as I know) - take a look at whatever app you're using, if you're using an alternative app other than the stock one, might be an option
If you use the stock app try SMS WakeUp on the play store, works like a charm
The Corner approves..
The Thanks button ain't gonna push itself!
Thanks to all guys, but I think the problem isn't with the sms app, I'm using the HTC sense default app, the problem is with any type of notification

Is there any way to get Google hangouts to pop up on the lockscreen when you get a text the same way the stock text message works? Like the circle with the message icon and number.

No one knows a mod?

I would also like to see this. Just updated to 4.3 on Verizon S3 and it doesn't work with Hangouts. The driving mode also doesn't read the text since it's in Hangouts.
Hangouts just began to be integrated with SMS... give it some time to make it the go-to feature for texting, etc. Until then, you have a bunch of apps that integrates fully into the original Messaging app like Halo, Popup Notifier, Textra, Handcent, and even Facebook Messenger. I'm sure Hangouts will reach this point but until then, try other apps.
Facebook messenger no longer does SMS AFAIK. That was taken out. Hangouts is cool, especially for group messaging, but I personally couldn't stand it being white. Luckily dark horse makes inverted apps.
One of my main gripes with hangouts as well as most other SMS apps is when your phone doesn't have service or in airplane mode...when you restore service the text messages you receive aren't timestamped properly. It stamps them like you just received them...and not when they actually were sent.

Install a 3rd party application to manage notifications and make sure you can enable notifications on the lock screen.
Hello, since sense ROMS can't have xposed, I am here to asking you if there is any mood to make the notifications expanded... I mean that instead of whatsapp saying 2 messages, it displays those messages.
Thanks
