I was thinking of posting one or two ROMs for this device to add some variety.
Does anyone have any requests?
I think most of people want a stripped down no frills kind of system. I used Dark's Roms for a little while but started having problems with it locking up and not receiving calls. I think if you can clean up the stock and maybe give it a face lift, well, I don't know about anyone else, but Id like that. Getting tired of the plan ol interface.
Any chance of you posting the OEMmiscs as well so that any of us who want to cook our own SYS builds can do it?
Perhaps a stripped down rom with any useful additions from the v7 Fathom rom (fathom keyboard, dialer, anything else you find worthwhile to add)?
Is there any chance to bring over the Sense 2.5?
I like the program, even though i don't have a HTC.
windows mobile 6.1?
OK, say maybe a couple of "clean" ROMs based on WM 6.1, 6.5 & 6.5.3?
I'm personally not that interested spending a lot of time porting HTC software, like Sense.
I have no problem posting my Kitchen and source files.

Sounds good! Looking forward to the release!
He question is asked!!!
and then, nothing more has happened!!!
- made the survey and who likes what,
or have lost your phone or computer
and they said that they had gone to study
and such a thing happened in many applications and many ROMs
winmospeed
topaz rom
xperia rom
Avian Pleyer
and so on and so forth
In any case regards
Have no fear, I'm still here.
Right now I am trying to correct an issue with DZCreate.exe that is preventing me from using v10g as a base. The DragonStorm ROMs appear to be based on v10d (AT&T) with the OEMMisc from v10g.

Thanks trueg. you are my best bud.
To be honest, I am really happy with stock AT&T April 2010. (I cannot believe I put up with HTC for 2 years).
I think the first step would be simply removing AT&T Media Net and other AT&T applications, so the ROM would be quick but still stable.
I would even leave many of the LG applications there, because the music player and scientific calculator get the job done, better than some of the cooked ROMs I tried when using HTC.
It is good that you're there yet "man.
You're the only one who stayed bulid the ROMs.
As almost all ROMS from Dark9781, links are dead.
To try the latest ROM do a normal clean version for everyday use, to be able to serve with the device.
All possible ROMs I tried and all use more memory than the official ROM.
Request is then
start top left because all the programs written for it.
thenks
bluetooth AVRCP
I'd love to have Coreplayer recognize avrcp commands so that I can abandon the lame windows media player an dlisten to flacs.
I use the Snapdragon hardware accelerated version of Coreplayer on my own device, but I can't include that in a ROM; Coreplayer is commercial software.
In that I am not sure.
Well TitaniumUI is included in Windows Mobile 6.5+ by default. It doesn't take up any RAM if you don't use it. Simply go to \Settings\Today\Items and uncheck Windows Default.
If you install, this and only this HTC taskmanager.
Because it always works flawlessly
htc_task_2.1.cab

And then this program:
MMAppLauncher v1.0.CAB
link

start with windows
override start meny
You get 7-10 mb free memory.
The biggest problem is that this program was never completed and make a shortcut for the camera so that you can not start the camera without problems.
Well I have great news.
I have been able to figure out how to build ROMs using the newer style ROMs from LG.
This means that I can use the OEMDrivers from the GW825V and GW820_V10g.
It also means I can build ROMs for the GW825V.
I'm just working on a test ROM that I can post to see if it works for everyone.
Of course that it appears to try as soon as possible.
Because this is a totally useless device!
On t-mobile, can not even mms!!
Has little to, no longer working link to dragonstorm roms.
All the other ones are full of bugs, or use lots of memory to
slow machine.
ROM from AT & T has too many programs that no one will ever use.
So a nice little handy device and fast or should be.
When with task manager FdcSoft v3.3 stop all unnecessary processes, it works most quickly as well as HD2.
Only GAPI drivers are slow as the HTC Wizard or worse.
example:
GAPIBench 1.5-arm on the float test Topaz 1.6800
On the IQ 0.6900
Very gladly start up left.
Because lots and lots of programs simply will not work otherwise inc beautiful program Total Commander.
great news trueg. Look forward to testing it out!
OK, here is the first test.
I'm not sure in what format you guys want these distributed.
I simply zipped up my LGMOBILEAX folder and uploaded it to MediaFire.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/ibkzdxnlp5h8umu/LG_Monaco_Test01.zip
In Windows XP, you would simply extract this to
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\
For Windows 7, extract here...
C:\Users\All Users\
I use 7-zip...
http://www.7-zip.org/
Then run
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\LGMOBILEAX\SmartPhoneSetup\SP_Starter.exe
If you are running a stock ROM, the application should automatically reboot your phone into emergency mode and start flashing.
If it doesn't (gives error that it can't detect phone), you will need to reset your phone manually and hold down the space button on the keyboard to enter emergency mode.
This ROM should work on GW820, GW825 and GW825V (all LG Monaco devices).
The OEMDrivers are based off of the GW825V. The rest is almost directly from GW820_v10g (AT&T).
Since this is just a test I didn't make many changes.
Please let me know if this works and if there are any problems.
If it works, I will use this as a base for the 6.5 ROM.
The reason I used the GW825V OEMDrivers is because it provides more RAM and storage (take a look at the Memory).

I have now tried all the Roms (Helmi, Indra, Jwright, Ivan) and believe I have the solution for a stable upgrade. Individually they all work well give or take speed issues and forgetting inherent bugs we discover in beta versions.
However when we cross platforms - IE go from an Indra Imate base to a Helmi O2 base is always when I have struck real problems. I had been using Jwright's Imate 96 version for a month or so and just swapped to Helmi AKU 3.5 1.3. After flashing the Helmi ROM I had awful problems from pathetically slow response to the unit completely freezing after installing several large applications. However after a 100 or so hours of extensive experimentation I have several key reccomendations that form the solution.
Now I can say the Helmi 3.5 is blisteringly fast and stable followed by Indra & then Ivan and Jwright in the AKU 3.2 flavours. By the way I have also attached with this post my extended ROM that I am currently using with Helmi and it works a treat! (Basically it is many useful applications from Jwright's rom like Candello, loaded into Helmi less any incompatable applications.) Speaking about incompatable applications I can now unequivicably warn you NOT to load the following applications in the 3.5 flavour ROMs: (EVEN IF THEY APPEAR TO WORK)
Battery Pack Pro (no versions)
Resinfo 1.5
Voice Commander 1.5 (NOTE: 1.6 IS OK!)
Device Lock
Sprite Backup - current version (IT DOESN'T RESTORE PROPERLY - USE SPB BACKUP INSTEAD - ALSO ATTACHED)
Here is my list of recommendations as a professional systems analyst:
1. Before flashing the new ROM reset the existing one to its default factory settings but dont let the extended rom load. (IE reset again when the "will customize in 3 seconds" message appears)
2.After flashing the new ROM (and resetting it by pressing both softkey application hardware buttons & reset then selecting '0') THEN FLASH IT A SECOND TIME! (I don't have any scientific evidence to support this but I know it works a treat! - maybe some old registry settings or system files are not properly overwritten.)
3.Only load ONE APPLICATION AT A TIME then softreset then if the PPC is still working perform a backup using SPB BACKUP ONLY. (This way you also find out straight away if you have an incompatable application and then you can go and restore your last good SPB back up - without going back to the beginning!)
4.Using the supplied registry editor DELETE any Today plugins that you donot use. (Search for either 'TODAY' or 'ITEMS'.)
Lastly regarding memory leak. I am not convinced this occurs in any of the roms tested. Remember WM 5 - all AKUs uses persistent storage so movement in and out of memory will vary constantly and appear to alter for no reason because it needs to. (Helmi's 3.2 1.2 rom is a good example where the memory movement seemed far less than the others but I found this rom unusable one I loaded nearly 2gb of applications onto the storage card.)

Took a deep breath and start to try out your recommendations... despite that my device looks work quite well... but I always hope that good things can be even better
Alternatively, unlock your extended rom, and delete all the files in it, hard reset, then flash with the new rom of your choice.
It has the same effect, only quicker.
Hello there, yes... I'm a n00b when it comes to ROM upgrades.
I'm relatively experienced when it comes to computers and PDA's, but browsing through this forum, I have to admin, I'm lost...
I have an Orange M5000, locked to Orange (I think). Can anyone give me some simple steps of what I should do to upgrade to the latest and fastest ROM version? (I'm currently on 1.30.90 - R1.09.00).
Help would be much appreciated.
**EDIT** Okay, so the instructions are these ones right -
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/inde...tion On How To Upgrade with Bootloader method
But what ROM should I be using? Thanks.
You might want to try the link at
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Upgrades
at Orange UK for the proper way of upgrading to the official ROM, which is an EXE file. That's the easiest.
If you want to get going with the newest ROM's (and are prepared to take the associated risks!) then my recommendation for the process you should follow is this...
First, download the tool at: http://www.buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=100&func=fileinfo&id=288
Follow the instructions in the .rar file. This will SIM unlock your M5000 so that you can use any SIM card in it, but also makes your M5000 "SuperCID" - Meaning that you can upgrade to ANY HTC Universal ROM (QTek, O2, imate, etc, etc) without all the hassle!
Then:
1) Download whichever ROM you're interested in
2) Put your M5000 in bootloader mode (by holding the Backlight and Power buttons while poking the reset button).
3) Connect your USB cable to your phone and PC
4) From your downloaded (and extracted) ROM archive you need to run "MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe" or "ROMUpgradeUt.exe" - whichever was included - it won't matter because your device is "SuperCID" so you wont get any of the Country or Device errors that people often complain about.
Wait for 5 minutes while it all ticks along, do a hard reset, and you're all done!
You may find that your device still installs a load of unneeded cab files after the initial setup. This is because of the "Extended Rom" area where manufacturers put all of their own modifications.
You can use the tool found here: http://www.buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=100&func=fileinfo&id=205 to unlock the "Extended ROM" and the cab files found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=985428&postcount=373 to make it visible within File Explorer.
Then you can delete any (or every) file that's in there. I'd strongly recommend deleting everything if you'll be trying out an AKU3.X or WM6 ROM.
Okay, but I think Orange are a bit behind things...
I was about to try 2.04 PDAVIET UNI PRO. Is this a bad idea for me?
**EDIT** To the second reply, thanks, I'll give that a go
Basically, don't try using any Crossbow ROMs if you need your device for anything important. They're far too flakey at the moment (even the half decent ones).
Go for an AKU3.3 ROM for stability and speed (or possibly AKU3.5 - though they're a little bit buggier).
Crossbow ROMs will get better. Come back for that in a month or two (or three....four.....)
I wouldn't say I do use it for anything important... 1 or 2 calls a day (not business) SatNav once or twice a month. The calendar and ListPro are probably the most used things on my PDA...
Speed is what's annoying me at the moment though. It takes so long to redraw the screen when I spin it for example.
Where can I find an AKU3.3 download then?
Sorry, work tore me away from the forum for a while...
Go here: ftp://xda:[email protected]/Universal/Cooked_ROMs/
There are four folders in there where you'll find a mixture of AKU3.2, 3.3, and 3.5 ROMs by Helmi, Ivan, JWright, and Indra. Personally, I like stripped down ROM's so my own favourite is Helmi's V1.3.1 ROM.
There are plenty of other opinions if you look at the related threads though...
Helmi: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284887
Indra: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285488
Ivan: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=287270
JWright: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=279258
If you have a look at the first (and possibly second) post in each of those threads, you can see what's in the ROM and what isn't. Take your pick. As far as speed goes, you will find all of them are noticably faster than any of the official Orange ROMs.
I've actually successfully installed WM6. It's a lot quicker than WM5, so I'm happy
Yep, WM6 is a lot faster than the official WM5 ROM's.
The WM5 "AKU3.X" ROM's are even faster though and - for now at least - generally less buggy...
Looking at how you say you use your phone, you shouldn't find too much to worry about with WM6 - even this early on (and it looks nicer!).
Glad it went ok for you!
Sub69, Thanks, thanks, thanks!!! My problem was solved with the backlight + power + hard reset... A million thanks friend.
Looking to become a regular member here. With a little time hope I can contribute something meaningful as well
I have a wm6.1 rom for the treo 700wx. I have ported the XIP and the OEM from wm6. The SYS folder has been ported from another device. The rom boots, however I seems like the whole file system is read only or write once from certain applications. For instance, I can create new folders using file explorer, but I can't move or delete them. However, totalcommander can. Notes can create, edit and delete files, but file explorer cannot move or delete them.
I have checked the XIP, OEM, and SYS folders. Everthing seems to be correct. I even tried changing the device security policies, and device encryption through provxml. Nothing seems to work. One other thing to note is I cannot disable encryption on the storage card. I uncheck it, exit the encryption control panel, and when I reenter its checked again.
I saw one other post that had similar issues, but there were no replies. Can some one please point me in the right direction for a fix?
When I get these issues fixed, a clean wm6.1 rom for 700wx will be posted for everyone. (No stupid, "BETA - Build your own rom". I promise...)
Anybody?...
OK. I dumped wm6 from the 750 from the at&t update, and used that sys folder with my rebuilt wm6 OEM from the verizon 700wx 6.0 rom. After build and flashing I have the same issues on wm6. So I'm beginning to think it's my xip that is the problem. So, I am going to port the 750 wm6 xip from the 750 and try that in my windows mobile 6.0 rom. We'll see if that works. Could still use help from anyone who has seen this issue before. I know there are others who have had this problem...
Still know responses? Am I really the only one who has ever run into this problem. There was another posting, but no fix.
I guess nobody wants a 6.1 rom on their 700wx...
I desperately want 6.1 on Sprint 700wx
I hope you have made progress with th 6.1 ROM for the Sprint 700wx. I really like that form factor (giving up on my mogul). Please let me know. thanks.
Found the problem. The verizon 6.0 rom is screwed up. I started with the alltel 5.0 rom, and upgraded to 6.0, and then to 6.1. I am testing the rom now. A release will be coming soon.
Thanks for staying on top of this! We really do appreciate the work you're doing.
I´m having a small problem: I use a cooked ROM but some friends don´t and sometimes, when they have a question I get into trouble, because their ROM looks different and some settings are in different places.
So my tought is: why not use an emulator so that I can see their ROM on the pc and can then give hints far quicker and without the need to my hands on that
I´ve searched quite a while but found nothing regarding this matter. All I´ve seen is the MS device emulator but I don´t know if that loads different ROMs than the ones that come from MS.
Therefor my question is: does anyone know of a ROM emulator for a pc?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Thilo
this may help http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...12-CA31-4BE9-A3BF-B9BF4F64CE72&displaylang=en
I used this and also the Microsoft Developer Studio platform contains built in emulators, but there is no (easy) way you will be able to emulate Diamond or other ROMs in it - the hardware phones are generic devices. There are images for WM6 and 6.1 also. It's great fun installing TomTom etc and testing that sort of thing on your PC, but custom ROMs...not likely.
The MS Studio WM6.1 images are in a .msi file which is a 280Mb download.
Check this and the links at the bottow:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...AF-12E3-4B2F-A394-356E2C2FB114&displaylang=en
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...3a-a651-4745-88ef-3d48091a390b&displaylang=en
However, I'm 99% sure one of their emulators hosed my PC totally (Probably the CE 5 one). Not sure what or how it happened but a key file (related to the emulator) got corrupted and trashed XP.....ordinarlily I'd have laughed at that suggestion - except I had to rebuild my PC as a result.
Ok, so I´ll do a complete backup (image) first .
I´ll try your suggested MS software product tomorrow. Of course I don´t want to be able to simulate the gyro sensors, the build-in gps functionality and so on.
It would suit me just to be able to simulate e.g. the original t-mobile ROM or the original HTC ROM.
I´ll check what can be done in that direction.
Thanks for your suggestions!

Thilo

Grazie tante!
You can actually install android alongside of winmo. Try searching for xdandroid and you'll find what you are looking for.
ALso search for neopeek, it might help.

Android on Diamond
There are my experiences with Android on Diamond:
I used XDAndroid (Foryo, ver.FRX06). Installation is not difficult, they were two "catches" during installation in my case: First, I had to delete ts-calibration file to recreate display-calibration data (after first boot it was completely broken) and second, finally I had to (full)format Internal Storage (FAT32) because Android didnt see internal storage ("sdcard").
So, now I have working android. Synchronizations with google account works, wifi work, GPS works. But I cant install anything from Market - very annoying, I dont know yet how to fix this. At least I can install application directly from .apk files.
Summary:
Using Android on Diamond is pain. System is slow. If you are used to use some fast (winmo)ROM, you will be horrified. Let's imagine slowest 6.5 rom with TF3D - and android is even slowest . Sometimes, the response is so slow, that system detected "not responding" application and offers to kill it or wait (choose wait ). Diamond has limited memory, after boot you will have about 30MB free (depends on widgets used). Also, battery drain is terrible.
Despite all, android applications works. So, for testing, playing and get familiar with android, its fine. Then, when you'll assure yourself android is good, then you'll buy a true android device (Just for comparison: my wife has LG Optimus One, pretty cheap device, but android works much much much faster and smoother than on Diamond, its really different league, incomparable with Diamond). If you want to keep Diamond, for everyday use, go back to any fast WM ROM, (BSB is my favorite), install SPB Shell and Droid+ mod.
Pretty weird,on my diamond was faster than a wm6.1 + sense 2.1,maybe because I hardly ever used frx06.
But frx06 shouldn't be slow, there are a lot of users that like it's speed and stability,so maybe you were unlucky or with wrong/old files..

Hm, could it be possible "wrong" files makes working but slower system? Maybe it is about frx06... Can you help me to install any different android version? But keeping wm is necessary condition, so I think xdandroid is the only option..(?)

Speed isn't only decided by system, but by kernel and rootfs too,so,check them out and find the fastest for you
