Viper Mod Sounds files - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to replace the start up sound from the latest viper mod, but can't find the file. Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

You've posted this question on another forum already

Please be patient and do not post the same question over and over.
Cheers,

It's not there

Check it, if u wanna figure it out, try and search this forum for a flashable boot animation with sound. Download it and open it up on your computer with 7zip. That'll show u what directory its located in.. That's where i would start if i wasnt getting an answer.

I havnt looked inside that ROM in awhile, but unzip ROM,system/etc/PowerOn.wav...Thats where it should be.

APK Compression and 7Zip?

So maybe I'm slow, but I'm just now figuring out that 7zip can unpack/repack .apk files.
I do notice that the filesize is different after recompressing, and a search turns up some people saying that it's ok. Does anyone have experience repacking with 7zip and have any recommendations on how to do so optimally?
Thanks!
MDM
Well, one thing I've ascertained is that simply telling it to make an .apk isn't the right method. It will do it, but size is wrong, and the resultant file does not work within the phone. :S

Anyone know where i can find this exact Boot animation? and do i install it same way as i would a custom rom.
1. Put in root
2. Boot to recovery
3. Flash it
and thats it? this will be first time i download just a boot animation. i normally use the one that come with the rom.
and i left a youtube comment but the creator hasn't posted a message in over a month
Thanks.

I'm not sure where to find it, but it depends on how its packaged, on how you install it. If its a flashable zip, then yes you do exactly as you said. If its just the bootanimation.zip, and isn't flashable, then you can use root explorer to put the file where it belongs. If you're on a sense rom, it goes in /system/customize/resource. If you're on aosp, it goes in /system/media. Just put it in the right folder, set permissions, and reboot.

Your welcome. I'm sure its on xda somewhere. I'd check and search in the themes and apps section, or use Google to search it.

I Did a XDA search and it pretty much people like me asking for a Transformers boot animation but it wasn't the specific one i was asking for.
Google is my next stop
got a youtube message back from the guy with the boot and he gave me this file
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747987
its the right one but the links are dead.
anything we can do?

Damn, you're right. The mp3 file (for the boot sound) will download it seems, but the actual boot animation links me to 4shared and says 'the file link is no longer valid', or something like that. Maybe look thru that thread and see if there are any mirror's posted in it? I got nothing to do, I'll take a gander for ya in a sec.
EDIT: I found it. Check out post #40 in that thread. I just downloaded it. The download works fine. If you want the sound, the link in the OP looks like it works, if not, I saw two other mirrors for the MP3 sound somewhere between post 10 and 40.
BTW, that download is not flashable. you'll need to put the file where it goes. It's easy, especially if you know a little adb, it'll take 20 seconds. If not, using root explorer or ES file explorer can get the job done.
EDIT2: attatched the animation for you.
i'll take a look as well, don't want you to be having all the fun
Its in there, page 4 or 5
damn it its not flashable.
gotta learn how to do it the other way now
Root explorer works great-sweet find!

Couple quick questions to help me help you get it installed.
1) What rom are you currently on
2) Do you have a root level file explorer such as Root Explorer, or ES File explorer?
3) Do you have adb set up to use on your computer?
4) If you're on a sense rom, I might be able to make a flashable zip for you, let me know.

Try flashing this. It should work. Make a nandroid backup first, just in case. Unless you already have a current one.
yeah it worked but no sound?
edit: that was fastest bootloader i have ever had lol 6 or 7 seconds tops

Ooops. I forgot to edit the sound file. Sorry. I can edit and re upload it, or all you'd need to do is open up the zip you downloaded. Click the folder that says system. then click customize. then click resource. then you'll see the bootanimation.zip and the mp3 file. rename the mp3 file to SPC_animation_final. Or it might be spc_animation_final. I forget if the spc is capitals or not. It's one or the other. Then reflash it.
Edit> and what do you mean that was the fastest bootloader? The fastest it's ever booted up you mean? confused.
k done. do i just reboot my phone to see if it works or do i gotta flash again

Once you edited it, flash it again. And also, as I said, I don't remember if it's spc_animation_final or if it's SPC_animation_final. And I may have not been clear, but make sure that when you renamed it, you left the .mp3 extension on the file. It needs to be there.
yeah i know. flashing now. 1 min bud

[REQ] stock theme framework/juggernaut 5.0

Is it possible for somebody to create a completely stock framework (status bar, pulldown, etc) for juggernaut 5.0? I always thought the green battery really stood out when everything else was at an understated grey color. i wish i knew how to do this myself
but i turn to the experts on here for some love. hopefully i am not the only one who wants this and there is an actual demand for this type of theme
if anybody takes on this task, i thank them greatly
All you gotta do is search for empty zip file to flash theme. Then take out framework, twframework and systemUI from original Jug. Make folder called framework put both framework in there. another folder called app and put systemui. Then without extracting the zip file/use 7zip to put both this folder in it and then flash that zip. That's all!

If you have Root explorer or something similar, you could probably copy and late the appropriate files in the correct spots and then reboot. Then you wouldn't need to sign or flash.

Are these the exact same zips you are trying to flash? if so they are not set up right for CWM to be able to apply them. Here is a CMW flash for you. Open it with 7 zip or an appropriate progam, i recomend 7zip its great. You will see the app folder and the framework folder. Place your modfied app.apks in the app folder and any modified framwork.res files in the framework folder. Dont try to mess with too much at first just framework.res twframework.res and systemui.apk make sure when you transfer images you are taking them from stock and adding them to Juggs files or you will get a force close. dont just try and take stock .res files or .apks and flash them.
hahahahahaha.... i wish i saw this sooner. i actually went ahead and pushed the stock images over the modified images i wanted into the systemui.apk within the juggernaut zip file and then reflashed it. that would have saved me loads of time configuring everything all over again. but thanks though... if this doesn't help me now, it should help me later. and it probably helps other people looking to do their own thing as well.

Flashable Zip? O.o

If I download a zip file and it has an app in it, can i flash it? Theres a lot of out-of-market apps available on cloud storage sites like mediafire which have apps inside the zips. You have to extract it to get the APK file. My question being : Can i flash the zip file which has an app in it causing it to be installed as a system app? (Using recoveries)
P.S I'm really sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place but I'm in need of answers. I did search for the FAQ section. But I'm using tapatalk so I'm down to the phone view.
Nooo buddy.. Flashable zip requires updater script n proper path to install... An ordinary zip is jus an compressed form of a file...
P.s you cant use an ordinary zip file to install apps via recovery...

Converting tft to zip

Hey so I'm trying to convert the FTF file to a flashable zip using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849867 but once I go through the command prompt all seems to have gone well but I can find the system folder. Another method is to take a backup using CWM recovery and then use the system.ext4 file created during backup.
Just unzip it, it will give you the complete data under /system.
This file is found under clockworkmod folder in the external sd card.
Damn why didn't I think of that thankyou! lol..... I've been using Rom toolbox to copy system folders into a different folder so I could take them off my phone lmao..... I shall continue my "brick a Sony" project tomorrow
