I RAN A BATCH OF THE INTEGRATE FEATURE AND ALL WENT SMOOTH. I SAVED AROUND 60+ MB OF APP SYSTEM SPACE RIGHT OFF THE BAT. ONE ISSUE I'M HAVING, IS A FORCE CLOSE ISSUE. WITH "Qik" IN PARTICULAR. I HAVE LOOKED THIS ISSUE UP AND HAVE READ SIMILAR THREADS REGARDING THE INTEGRATE FEATURE AND FORCE CLOSES THAT OCCUR DUE TO THIS. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE "Qik" APP PRE-INSTALLED IS NAMED SOMETHING LIKE "SPRINTQIK......." AND THE UPDATE FROM THE MARKET IS "COM.QIK....." I AM THINKING THAT THIS IS WHAT IS CAUSING THE ISSUE, BUT I AM UNSURE. DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW I COULD GET THE NEWEST QIK APP ADDED TO MY ROM WITHOUT ANY ISSUE?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

To be honest, the EVO has a ton of space for /system and there's not much reason to "save" space with the integrate feature. But as for your problem, try integrating it yourself by decompressing the ZIP, copying over the APK, re-ZIPping, then sign.
Hell, a pastebin'd logcat of the FC would probably be useful.

lol ive typed all caps before and the forum automatically formatted it for me. Anyways, i understand that the evo has enough memory, but the more free memory is always better. how do i get a log cat. (please dont say adb, i have no experience lol.)

Yes, adb. What makes you think more free is even better?? If you have all the apps you want and used installed and still have free space, there shouldnt be a problem.

Having more free space isn't "better", there's no good or bad thing about it unless you screw with the partitioning and allocate more space to say, /cache and /data. And yes, you have to use adb to get the logcat. Just download the Android SDK installer (yes, there's an installer now), open a command prompt, cd to the platform-tools folder wherever it installed (something like "C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools" iirc), then run "adb logcat > %userprofile%\Desktop\logcat.txt" to output the log to your desktop.

I get nothing, no changes whatsoever, even if I manually change the icon. Could be since I am using WindowBlinds/IconPackager I guess
Love it thanks!!!!

Certain antivirus or anti mareware program prevent .inf from autostart.
Too bad, I can't advise on this.
Rest of guys, do often check on the .inf file for changes. Certain mareware can hijack .inf for it's auto luanch.
It also works in Ubuntu 9.10. Nice.
This is pure awesome manifested in a simple icon
I use a similar icon for my g1 on my mac.
Awesome, thanks!
can someone make an icon for me like this guy "down8" but with a mytouch please
Don't seem to work for me, vista, or XP
**Edit** works if you turn off debug.
I've been using this icon since about a week after the G1 came out - probably needs updating, since the bronze G1 in the icon is running 1.0...
Like I said, pretty out of date, but if anyone wants the .ico, let me know.
Nice, thanks alot man although the icon can be a little smoother. Kind of pixely.
here is my problem in picture

So, as you see here the applications i`m RESTORING using Titanium Back up aren`t being installed on the App2SD ext but rather they are all going to the Internal Memory then i moved them (one by one) to the SD but the internal memory is still the same and the SD partition decreases but the ext partition stays as empty as ever,,,, So can anyone help me?
Note: i WIPED everything before installing MIUI!! ("Wipe data/factory reset")
There is none :] I emulate it with a Folder i've put into the dock.
Miui places ALL applications on multiple pages on the device. There is no actual app drawer unless you place all apps into a folder and move it to the dock. Are you positive titanium backup was sucessfully installed? Try doing a reboot on the device.

its not a bad thing actually
i had the same shock but then i just made a folder called apps and put all my apps in it and then attached it to my dock
now it looks like this
Any Dev who can help
Anyone HELP me guys i flashed a new ROM to get a free space and a fast phone!!!
Problem is still here!!
I think your question may be a bit specific for the 'Desire General' section.
I think MIUI specific questions are best off in the relevant 'Desire Android Development' threads.
Just a thought.
PS
I think there are several flavours for the App2/wherever of MIUI -you'll have to follow the threads to get the full picture.
Same thing
Did you select the option, ''Force move to same location'' or something in Titanium preferences?
I too had the same problem when i was trying out a MIUI based rom. I thought it was a problem with the A2SD or something. So i reinstalled the rom, manually installed all my apps using appbrain and it was ok. The apps mostly went to A2SD partition like its supposed to.
I think its something to do with Titanium itself.
I read on miui page to use in a terminal emulator:
su
a2sd cachesd
I solved by this way..
have a look there
Ok, so somehow I did something that caused my SD card to fill up. When I look at DiskUsage, it shows that the system data folder is taking up all of my space.
Has anyone else had this problem, and can you fix it?

I really need help...
I don't know what you did.... I compared my unit using the same tool and I don't even have a System Data section on my /sdcard
If you have TWRP loaded, you might be able to wipe your data etc... but I have no idea.
Perhaps someone else has an idea
Well, I dont have a system data folder, atleast in my SD card.
I am thinking maybe it is somehow attatched to the SD partition, but...
Anyway, is it normal to have 200,000 + files in your "sys" directory?
The tool you are using doesn't output very clear info and the graphics by themselves don't give you details on what it is really finding...
Below is what mine looks like. This appears to be the same setting you used, but as you can see, there is no System Data listed.
Are there tools that are more presise I can look for?
Ok, so I found a file inside LOST.DIR called 1048578. It is taking up 2.3 GB. Can I delete it safely?
yes you should be able to do that.
You most likely had a crash and the file was lost from where it was actually pointing.
An solution to your problem

its because of three things that regularly happen
1) Because of Browsing the internet System data gets increased.
Try clearing your browser cache and reboot(e.g chrome, mozilla, the one u use the most)
2) Because of opening gallery your /DCIM/.Thumbnails folder gets loaded whit lots of bytes. delete the /DCIM/.Thumbnails folder
3) Also because of transfering files from your pc to your phone one more folder gets loaded.. delete it its the /nomedia/
Plz Hit Thanks............. :good: :good:
The same thing also happened to me. Using the Android tool DiskUsage, after deleting many large media files via the PC, all of a sudden a System data of 22 GB was indicated. After I restarted the phone, the size was reduced to 2.3 GB.

You do realise that this thread is nearly 6 years old...
Hello, I have spent all day looking for this answer without any luck so I am hoping someone can answer my question here.
I wanted to upgrade my SII to the latest Cyanogenmod I did the following:
1). Downloaded and used Odin to install StockCWM-EL26.tar (CWM v5.0.2.7)
2). Using my SD card upgraded to CWM v5.8.1.5 (newest version I could find)
3). Factory reset and wiped everything.
4). Using my SD card installed the latest version of Cyanogenmod cm-10.2-20140330-NIGHTLY-d710 (Jelly Bean v4.3.1)
Everything booted fine and worked fine however I quickly ran out of app space. I noticed that my App partition space is 2GB where my S3 phone running the same OS (factory version) has the entire phone's space available for apps (16GB). I figured to fix this issue I just needed to re-partition the phone using a PIT file but I can't find this anywhere. Am I missing something or am I just stuck with a 2GB App partition and no chance of anything larger?
Thank you very much...
Taran.
There is no "option" to change partitions for this phone. Or any device anywhere haha. Its more of a procedure. Anyways a lesson in terminology doesn't help. But yes you are "stuck" with 2 gigs. But I've installed literally hundreds of apps before having this problem. You should look at app2sd or something. No need to partition anything. Good luck ^ ^

oh...
Thanks for the quick response Linux guy. I am sad to hear I can't re-partition the phone but at least I can quite looking around for a way to do it...
I've moved all my apps using the built in "Move to SD" function in the system app menu but still almost out of space. I'll check out App2SD.
Thanks again,
Taran
Here's something else to do. Go to settings>apps and click the menu button to sort your apps by size. I bet you have an app that's being a hog *pictures*

Ok, time to start house cleaning and saving for a newer phone.
Thanks again.

Check the apps that use any type of avi/avatar image...Twitter, Facebook tend to Cache images and sap storage as well, each app selected will show you the cached size
Bashing away at my HTC Desire C
Thanks again for the replies. After a bit of looking around I ended up using Link2SD by Bulent Akpinar. So far that has solved all the issues I was having with space (seems to work a lot better then the built in "Phone to SD" did).
Take care...
Hey everyone. Since I am new to Lineage OS (18.1), I have been reading many of the threads here hoping to learn from others, mistakes and knowledge. But recently I have had an issue with file management. Originally I was going to post a thread asking how I can delete or at least disable the native Files app, but after reading a few threads on a similar subject, I realize I would be heading into issues if I did successfully delete it. So, instead I will explain the issue(s) I am facing and then see what any of you educated peers (and in the past, lifesavers) have to offer for advice. I love this OS so I don't want to have to go back, but if I can't resolve this issue, I have no choice.
Okay, so the native files app cannot see the /emulated/Android/data or /emulated/Android/obb folders at all. Every other file management app I have installed (too many actually) can see those folders which would be fine but there are a few apps asking me to approve access to those folders or subfolders therein, and it ALWAYS opens the native Files app to accomplish that. So there are a few apps I cannot use at all till I can figure that part out.

Also, I am a heavy user of the Autosync app and every new device I install it in, on first run, in the settings, I need to Enable Write Access. Pressing that again, ALWAYS opens the native files app. Although the native Files app can see the SD card/External Storage, the Use this Folder button is greyed out and when I attempt to press it anyways it states, "Can't use this folder - To protect your privacy, Choose another folder".
I am sure there is an easy way around all this but it is becoming annoying, to be as nice as possible. I hope I am just overlooking something cause I would rather feel like a n00b dumbass instead of having to lose this new (to me) and wonderful OS, or even worse, lose access to several frequently used apps. Thanks for reading and more thanks if you are able to help!
