How do I install the stable gingerbread version on my rooted g2
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
There is no stable gingerbread version yet
The above guy is correct, the only Gingerbread that is out is an early alpha, its not even out in the form of nightly's, and they are unofficial.
Upgrade cwm to 3.0+ and you can download the builds at www.crackflashers.com. there are usually one to two builds cranked out per day for us to flash and test. I use them as daily drivers, I just update every time one comes out.

Hi what's the best and latest gingerbread with sense Rom? Or best Rom even and can I take it black.to stock.if needed
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
There is no GB with sense yet, and it will be a long time before we will see any, but as for AOSP roms, both cyanogen, AdamG and a few others are working on it. I will suggest you try oxygen by AdamG. Like any other GB rom its still beta, but it should be quite stable.
Also this requires root of course, so if you don't have it, either get it or forget GB for now. And yes you can of course revert to stock like on any other rom.

No gingerbread with sense. 2 gingerbread rom's out officially (from Dev) is gingervillian.5 and oxygen2 RC 4. Also out is a pre RC of cm7. I've used both oxygen and gingervillian and both are good. I've not used cm7 yet.

To get back to stock, you need to ensure that you can get hold of the original RUU for your phone. Assuming you're branded....

Kinda new to this. Can I run the oxygen rom if I am running a cdma desire or is this only for a GSM desire. Or does it even matter? Thanks in advance.
Sadly, currently you cannot run Oxygen on a CDMA.
Hi,
Can anyone point out to me a Gingerbread ROM with the latest HTC Sense not (3.0 obv) that is bug-free or more so Stable enough to use and is not modified to an extent that it wouldn't be considered as Stock.
I've looked through the Development section and found ROMS that meets some of my criteria but the common this is a 'Camera/Camcorder bug of some-sort.
Thank you!
Rcmix s rom v0.8.. im using the cm7 version so te cm7 tables need to be flashed.
then a fat32 and an ext3 partion on your scard.
also use a2sgui from the market to move dalvic to your ext partition to free up more internal memory if you have alot of appa
been using it for a week or so without any problems, although the video camera doesnt work.
But its better and faster than those based on the leaked desire gingerbread rom, an has the better sense version.
Well i tried both RcmixS and InsercoinS and Cool S ...based on AceS rom,and they're slow as hell >_> Stable, but slow, not worth it (yet...i have hopes for the future). As for the Roms based on the leaked Desire Asia WWE rom, they're all stable, but still have some bugs and speed issues...my opinion, wait a bit more until the Official Europe WWE rom comes out,and some1 makes a good rom out of that
I wonder if the final gingerbread rom from HTC will be 2.3.4 instead of 2.3.3..

I'm using RCMis S v0.8++ and it's working very fast for me.

Doubt it, we don't even have a front camera.
I am thinking more the bugfixes for the '3 second delay' stuff that 'may' be included in 2.3.4
is it worth the effort to keep sense?
i left the stock rom a few months ago and tried out cm, then gingervilain and now use oxygen/devnull
i quickly decided the massive speed increase and extra memory was worth not having sense.
I have the same problem. A Gingerbread ROM based on the new Sense with the video recording working...
I'm using insertcoin Rom and i'm happy with this. I tried couple of other roms, but this one is really fast and this one have many quick updates. IC' s developer is very hard working man ;-)

I'm currently using InsertCoin A2SD CM7 HBOOT/A2SD+ STOCK HBOOT v15, and I'm very happy with it. Using it from v02.
InsertCoin is the best rom 2.3.3 with sense currently. You should take the A2SD+ because you'll don't have to change the HBOOT.

I've tried just about every GB sense ROM besides the Desire HD versions and they all have bugs but they are stable and ok for everyday use. The best GB ROMS are the AOSP ones, CM7, GingerVillain and Oxygen if you want a complete GB experience.
I favour AuraxTSense as my ROM of choice as it meets my needs and there is a GB version out but with bugs. I'm going to wait till all the bugs are fixed then make my move, as right now 2.2 ROMS are flawless.
Sent from my AuraxTSense Desire
its likely to be only a month or two before the dev's can be working on an official gingerbread release anyway.
i cant wait to see what they will do but i expect it to be a lot better than HTC manage
RCMix S went v1.0 today. It's really stable and fast as far as I know. I'm on the v09 at the moment.

And Insert Coin get Version 17. With all featuers of the RCMix and Trackball to wake.
leedroid
leedroid is a very stable and bugfree rom i have used.
Which one and why?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
1.0.2, I use this rom and it's perfect.
It's is also updated very offen
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
But did you use rcmixs?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I did on daily base... Insert Coin is great, I use v28 Nightly, but also love Robocik's work. The best thing is to try both of them and decide which one is best for you. InsertCoin seems stable and fast... but then again Baad... used RCmixHD as start point...
I'm kinda curious as to the differences too.
Yes I also try RCMix S rom, try them to have your own opinion, try InsertCoin Cm7 Hboot Version
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
Well you wouldn't beleive but there are some differences. First of all depends which HBOOT u r using,,couse rcmixhd makes it pretty fast and stable on both stock & cm7 hboot. If u are stock u can try robo's new script x-a2sd and u get over 300 mb internal to start. But feels like InsertCoin somehow perfected cm7 rom ver, while stock is still stuck with some lags. Depends on lot's of things. I use louncher pro always, and it requires strong and stable rom to run smoothly. The differences you can feel...
Maybe i can ask different. What things made you choose one of them after testing them both?
Speed or stability or shiny stuff?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Well I've been sorta switching between both of them for a while because they are in my opinion the two best Gingerbread Sense ROMs around for the Desire. There aren't in fact any major differences between the two to be honest since they both strive to do pretty much the same thing. InsertCoin gets updated more frequently I find than RCMix since custom ROMs are created by ordinary folk who have other commitments. Both ROMs have few bugs though what happened recently is I used the latest RCMix to find that the maps app kept crashing and then I used InsertCoin to find Paypal and the Collins dictionaries I bought had disappeared from the Android Market. My advice would be to try both and see which one works best for you. If you have Rom Manager Premium, you can also get OTA of InsertCoin which seems to be the most up to date one these days though Baadnews has now created nightlies for InsertCoin as well as a stable version which is also very handy I think. I reckon when the official Gingerbread Desire ROM gets leaked, there'll be less bugs. Anyway have fun!
The Insercoin 1.02 is perfect,
but i had got 1 problem, it's the TTS service can't use
Well, I am using InsertCoin 1.0.2 and I only encountered some minor problems: Facebook for Android does not work properly and the name of my operator changed back to the earlier one. Other than that, I like this ROM.
Agree with Iunoma. I keep flashing InsertCoin's Nightly ver for few days now and call me freaky but somehow feel that InsertCoin's even Nightly rom is faster than RCmixHD. My first choice speed, then stability, then extra stuff... So, there you are. I would rather flash perfected froyo then GB and Kingdom port if they gets slow. And I did at first, then flashed lots of rcmixes and InsertCoin's Nightly at the end... But the most helpful was flashing CM7 over stock HBOOT...

I am currently running kingdom stock sense 3.0 and my ? Is does anyone know of any good kernels to go with this ROM? This will be my first kernel I look into installing so I'm still gathering info before I actually do it so any info is greatly appreciated.
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
There aren't any kernels that will work with that rom aside from the stock one that comes with it.
To further explain as far as I understand it:
Since the sense 3.0 roms are based on leaked versions of gingerbread, we do not have access to the full source required to customize the kernel. Older Froyo kernels are not compatible, so we have to use the stock one that came with the leak. Be patient however, since we are supposed to be getting the official gingerbread OTA "soon" (current rumor is by the end of the month), and HTC has launched a developer's site, that should provide even more resources in the near future.
Awesome thanks for the info

Thanks, i am currently running Synergy Nightlies (6/13). Everything seems alright, battery is a little questionable but not horrible, but am interested to see what kind of improvements i can make to it.
Hi,
Is there a reason why I can't see any CM nightly nor RC ROM in rom manager premium ?
I would like to try the CM7.2 RC1 or the ICS nightly and I would prefer using RM to download/flash/update rather than downloading them from the website.
Thanks!
rom manager wont have every last rom available for your phone
you wont see much of "nightly" releases as well
your best off flashing them yourself via fastboot or recovery, oh and yes that means you have to download the rom you need

IIRC, there were automatic updates for CM5/CM6.x and 7.x ROMs for each nightly and RC.
So updates are not made available for Vision owners... a bit disappointing when you paid the price for, especially if there is no real reason. And it makes the premium version quite useless...
