Just a quick question guys. Noticed on my SD card, under maps it takes up.shot 1.5gb of space and 800mb of far is from French maps. Can I just delete these with no problem? Makes no sens to me having them on there.
Any of you already done so?

I guess it should be fine. I'd rather open the Locations app and delete the maps from there rather directly from a file manager, seeing how the Locations app can be picky some times.

Hey all,
I just got my new Desire today and already installed quite a few apps. Now I was wondering if it is possible to put like the games I into a separate map so I don't have to browse through all of my programs to find something, and it will look cleaner imo.
Thanks in advance,

Not sure what you mean by maps, but you can create folders and name them, so you could make one exclusively for games. Hold down on the home screen then add folder - you rename it by opening it up, then long-pressing on the title bar.

You are right I ment Folders. But if I do what you say I create a folder on my homescreen. But I would like to make folders into my app menu(to get there you have to press the little arrow on the left bottom side of your screen) is it possible to create folders there?

Hi,
That is what the home screens are for, and that is why there are 7 of them. I don't think the apps menu is editable.
I have one home screen for games, and a folder there too for the games that won't fit on the screen.

Apps organiser
Seems to be a great app for doing just this. I've just installed it. Searched "apps" in market and had to scroll down a fair bit to find it. Did not come up when i searched apps organiser".
Just realised that i should learn how to spell before searching for an item. " Apps Organizer" :-$
Thanks for the info! Ive just
downloaded apps organizer and set it up. put 2 folders on my homescreen(1 called apps and the other one games) and it works fantastic, so my problem is solved. thanks guys!!

After I switch the micro sd card (i took out the one that comes with the set, and put in my own), the widget no longer works.
I believe there are some files preinstalled in the sd card but when I click on the download, it didnt solve the problem (i can see that the files are being downloaded and installed).
Any advice?

solved my problem by going to location app > upgrade and choose map download.

Hi,
I Have installed couple of apps. Most of them are installed on SD card. When I organize those in each page (like one page for photography, other for rooting and etc). Why do phone always mix up those after a restart? All my apps installed on my card are move to last pages.
I had this issue even before I root the phone. :-S

If you are on 2.3.2, I guess that's the SE launcher bug. Secondly I could think of that the launcher could get access to the application only after the SD Card scanning is completed. Hence it could be plugged in at last.
I guess that too, what I did to fix this is installing Go luncher.
Bonus: Folders inside application drawer and task manager. Sexy!

my gf is having this problem on her phone, and i'm only finding solutions here for rooted phones and she can't root it because of the warranty. do you have some other solutions for her problem?
She's just going to have to move as many apps as possible to the SD.
Go Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>On SD Card
Then tick everything available.

she moved everything she could and she doesn't have that much apps, and still having same problem..
is there any other solution?
I don't think so, other than being selective over what she has installed.
My girlfriend was in the same boat until I rooted her phone and flashed a new ROM with a2sd support.

Photographs and music, Facebook friends synced to contacts, and web pages not cleared eat memory, clear caches as well.

Also, Gmail and Contacts chew up memory like 20mb each easily.
Another thing to remember is that you have to restart the phone for most of the savings to show up after changes. It does help to restart it about once per day to keep the caches clean, etc.
This worked for me. No S-OFF needed.

Hi
I'm sorry if someone already asked this (tried searching but didn't find the exact same question).
Is it possible to set a default storage location for all apps downliads/pictures? I know how to do it in camera and some apps have a setting option for this. But I've uninstalled many apps (wallpapers etc) simply because I'm too frustrated with transferring files manually.
For example, my instagram saves pictures to device memory and it really bothers me...
Thanks a lot!

Here's a link to the one I use. It applies on boot. Works great. Haven't had a single issue....

Thanks so much for the link. However, I'm not trying to move apps to sd card because I don't have that many apps. And I don't really want to root my device.
I want to set all app downloads to sd card. Some apps have a setting for that but some don't.
Thanks anyway!

You can use directory bind, but sorry still you needs root to use it.
