Hi xda team,
I really miss spoilers at this forum.
Many introducing posts like in the ROM sections are incredible big and have a bad overview then.
With spoilers it would be possible to organize the information what would make it much easier to find the right information which is needed.
That would avoid so much repeating questions, because so many people just oversee certain information because of the huge posts which are totally unclear.
Please think about it.
Thanks in advance.
No Feedback? :-(
Would be nice to have.
I agree...

If you look at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/FAQ you will see an FAQ that is not nearly done. In fact what's there is just humble beginnings...
If you can think of any more questions and answers that need to be in there, please put them in there. (If you feel uncomfortable with the wiki, just post them in this thread, and I'll stick 'em in).
Please knowledgeable folks (you know who you are...), help me out here...

Great, i'm gonna help with this one.
Hello,
I cannot find anymore some very useful informations on WIKI, like, for example, the incredible useful collection of links to the cooked ROMs for each device, ordered by developer and date... The page of "Reconstructed ROMs" is empty and I think the amount of the useful links for different topics of each device was decreased.
As a real life example, I am currently looking to flash another, better and more up-to-date ROM on my Kaiser, but, without the collection of ROMs previously available for my device on WIKI, I don't have any overview of the current ROMs and it makes the choice pretty difficult
Would this situation be improved in the near future, or it's planed to remain like this (new vision)?
Thanks in advance for any answer!
Conrad
As part of the migration of the wiki we had many pages to move, (myself moved 500+) and the rest of the team moved many more. Inside each page there were more links to other pages and going through and moving every single one was VERY time consuming. Ill see if i can locate that page and move it over for you.
Thank you very much for your answer and your helpfulness, Captainkrtek!
Sorry, I understand that this migration action means a lot of work and, if I could, I would also help as much as I could. My post was in no way intended to accuse somebody... It would be a great help for me and I think also for many other members of the forum, if you could find again the collection of links to the cooked ROMs, in this case related to Kaiser.
Thanks a lot for your help!
Best regards,
Conrad

Sorry mate.
I don't think that link should be made public. I'll PM him.

Title says it all really.
Trying to add comments to threads in the Original /Android I9300 forums, but the option to reply is not there.
Can reply to other threads though.
Is it because my post count is too low?
Also, why are there two separate forums for Android development and Original Android Development?
Looking through the respective forums, they seem practically identical. Sure, there are moss included in the Android development thread - but there are also ROMs - the latter of which has blurred the purpose of these two independent forums.

Don't ask the same questions that have been asked a hundred times before - please learn to use the search function.
so bad
I join here to try to help and contribute in topic of a ROM and I can't I must use PM
I think the "minimum of topic/reply" make more spam for can get the full range to reply in some topics
I'm currently in the situation that I'd like to post a help at a development forum, but I'm not allowed to because of my low post count. :crying:
Frankly, I understand the idea behind the minimum post counts, but on the other hand the xda moderators presume that when I am a noob, all I want to do is ask stupid questions to developers. So now I really have to dump at least 10 stupid postings somewhere until I'm allowed to help... And I wonder why I should take this tedious task, just for helping out...
What about that: Allow new members to post anywhere after 10+ postings or after they have been members for at least one month. This way you will also keep away noobs who just have a quick question, but make it a little easier for members who are actually interested in writing at xda.

The restrictions of time decreases as your post count increases... after 30 or so... its limit time is below 30 secs or so.. its very negligible.. it is kept such that due to network problems it shouldn't get reposted twice.. it has saved me many times from app
Believe me.. its for our own good..

Judge a man by his questions rather than his answers.
The admin is not going to change the post count because 1 or 2 people cannot be patient enough to wait till they have the requested post count to be able to reply more than once within a minute. We all had to go through it so stop whining and get posting...
I have the same problem, now searching for topics where i can post a relevant reply
After that its waiting on a Moderator wo's in a good mood to give me the permission to post in topics where i want to post...
But i think its normal to make it 'hard' for the newbies, there are a lot of people who don't wanna use XDA for good purposes, but only for trolling people etc. etc.
Voila a post extra for me
Besides having to wait to post shows a small level of commitment to using the forums for what they are here for. Keep it up guys and maybe you wont have to wait so long

Well you know what people
Rhas Al Ghul is dead
Hi all,
i am new to this forum (just 1 month) and it's an annoying fact that people enjoy writing thanks instead of actually pressing it.
i think the site should be updated so that if someone tries to post it or something similar like you are my hero, then it should automatically ask the user to click on the thanks button instead of posting it.
Maybe allow unregistered people to thank.
I know first thought comes in is SPAM.
Maybe the system can recognize spammers , like if a ip range like 161.121.*.* hits thanks on the same user or a group of users too much, the system shall ban it.
There is a thread for this..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987254
And I don't think its going to change.. as there are some flaws in your idea.. and anyway no one cares about the thank meter.. it is just there to help keep threads cleaner..

Nope.. if you are talking about recognized contributor or developer or such.. no.. only junior and senior member rank goes up when you reach 30 and 100 post count..
Also, to know more about this.. see my guide.. link in signature.. check 10th post.. and also see new user link..

Can anyone direct me to some threads on this subject.

You should try out this section.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2056323
As that covers almost all interests.. and you should be more specific on what you want to learn
This is wrong section I think.. as this is a question.. it should go in Q&A section..
Hit the report button on right top corner of your post and report it to move.
And welcome to xda

Thanks for the reply and I will report my post for shipping to Q&A
I am interested mostly in the development and modding of apks I would say, if that doesnt sound to noobish to the more experienced members here. I'm no technical dummy but I just havent an idea where to start. I'm sure your link will help me figure that out.

I see.. for that there are more than 100 guides for various specific mods and in general too.
Just search "guide apk" and you should get plenty.
And try this too. Just a quick search got it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251719
