SET RINGTONES!!!!
1. Set any of your songs as a phone ringtone:
•From the music player library, navigate to a song you want to use as a phone ringtone
•Touch & hold the song in the list to open the context menu
•Select Set as ringtone. The ringtone is set as your default incoming call ringtone
PS another "?"

Help! Static when starting to play sounds through headphones

The sound is fine through the speaker, but on two sets of 'phones, there is a slight click or pop when I start an mp3 or something, although I can also hear the static-type click when I push the start button.
No pop/click when using external speakers at all EDIT: I can hear the pop/click through the speaker as well, just more faintly as I have the volume lower.
This doesn't happen on my old Tosh e400.
As I bought this to use it on the tube as an mp3 player / book reader / phone, I am kind of desperate to find out the cause and fix it.
I tried 2 different mp3 software players in case it was that, and I have tried the registry key tweak (Priority256) as well.
I am on the 1.31 with all O2 stuff cancelled on a hard reset. Was there anything to do with this in the O2 extended ROM? I have manually installed all the non-O2 stuff (I think) from my Extended ROM folder, and left the O2 stuff out.
Please help, this is twisting my melon!
Thanks,
Joe
EDIT #2: I did another hard reset and just allowed the O2 stuff to install. Crack and pop still present. Are there any different drivers or audio setups I could try?
Ok, nobody answering that post so let me rephrase my questions:
1. If you listen REALLY carefully, can you hear a slight static pop when you begin playing an mp3 or playing any other sound (may have to use earphones to detect it). If so I think I can live with it - just don't want to be the one with the 'duff' XDA IIs.
2. Do the ROMs have anything to do with how audio is played? Are there drivers for the playing of audio in the ROMs? Could I try other ROM's out, if so, then which ones?
sounds to me like its hardware related, also have you tried a new set of earphones???
i had this problem and it was sorted with new earphones....
you could try a rom upgrade or downgrade to see if your rom is duff!!, but i doubt that will work./.... 8)
year sounds to me that its hardware related. you know that the head phone input is a different size to standard headphones. if your using a converter then this may be the cause of the problem.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Update to my problem:
1. Tried 2 pair of phones. Both have the static.
2. Static (I am calling it this now as it is like static from an old record player, only more faintly heard) appears throughout playing music or sounds on both the internal speaker and through the external headphones.
3. Tried without the 3.5>2.5 headphone adapter and the same result.
4. New finding!! If I play an mp3 and press the red end call button, a flurry of static type sounds is briefly heard over the top of the music.
Can I ask if anyone gets the static/funny sounds when pressing the red end call button during music playing with the windows media 9 application?

Music Player with easy way to use in town!

Hi all... I am seeking for a good Media Music Player (i got Pocket Player, which is very nice), but i am looking for something..
I don't like to get out my phone in metro, bus, and so... I would like to be able to program touch like vol up (long) to put the next song), vol down (long) previous, and an intelligent way to do play/pause... does anyone have a good idea how do this?
Also, sonyercisson did something very nice... By shaking in different ways the mobile, it change the volume, the song, play and stop it... Mobile costs about 150 € and it's very useful and this wonderfull fonction.. If a programmer would like to work on it, many donations would probably follow...
Thx answering me, and sorry for my bad english...

You don't want to have to take your device out while on the bus, but want to be able to shake the device to control volume / change songs? You will still need to take the device out of your pocket to shake it.
Just get bluetooth Headphones that support A2DP and control your music on your device right from your bluetooth headphones. Many of the music player software support A2DP. Just make sure the bluetooth headphones you buy have the controls and are A2DP capable. You will not have to take the deivce out of your pocket or it's case at all to control the music - Change songs, volume right from bluetooth headphones.
I don't want to buy a bluetooth headphone...
I meant when i said, i can't get it out, it's that i don't want to get it out, put it on, unlock it, make next song...
I would like a intelligent way to change song easily, like using sound volume or shaking it...
Someone got an idea?
Use S2U2, every option can be the default, but you must change the volume button from off to on.
You can change radio station as well as skip/repeat songs in TF3D, provided the respective program is the foreground program.
To work, you must have S2L2 running but not locked AND you must have the unit in blanked screen (by switching off the power button).
Once the unit is locked (which unfortunately will happen if the device is idle for too long), then the volume rocker will no longer be able to change station or repeat/skip songs.
Hope this helps
ty for the answer !!
See you !

In some cities you could get arrested for NOT taking it out when you shake it.
lol !!!!!!!!!
Just like that
i also brought this idea up in another thread.
i used a sony ericsson w850i walkman phone and used it to listen to music all day long and it was great. i dont use my ipod coz i simply dont like it, so the music player in my phone is also really important to me coz i want my phone to be all-in-1.
anyways.. the w850i hat this smart control on the volume buttons
short up: volume up
short down: volume down
long up: previous track
long down: next track
and trust me - once u have this u never wanna miss it
phone in the pocket is just way more convenient.. i often ride my bike and theres no damn time to take the phone out and change the song ^^
i also highly prefer the built-in players due to many reasons

no one got an issue about this? .. would be so cool..

Try TCPMP. I know that you can map any buttons to any comand - See if you can do what you want with this. TCPMP is also free
doesnt work on my phone for any reason...
The included windows media player can acutally do this, I've mapped vol up down single press to volume, and holding will change track prev or next. BUT.... this only works if you somehow get the normal volume application unmapped, else when pressing the volume, the volume application will grab the volume push before windows media player receives it..
When I in TCMP mapped volume buttons they "unhooked" from the volume application then afterwards I could use buttons in windows media player. I couldn't get TCMP to support "hold" key else I could just use that.. Now I only use TCMP to ruin the volume application stealing volume key.. Also this means that you can't really use volume application afterwards so not a very good solution but it works for now.
I'd mostly like a program that can just unhook/rehook volume buttons from/to volume application so I can use these for single press/hold for windows media player.
Tried AEBPlus button but couldn't get the wanted result.
Finally, i found what i wanted...
S2P is perfect for it... There is the shake option... and combined with S2U you can easily change music..
I recommand it to everyone !!
This http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=237507 (unmap_volume.zip) will release the volume buttons on Touch HD (and others), so it for example can be mapped in windows media player to single press adjust volume and hold will change track. Just like on my old Sony Ericsson phone it's convinient to be able to both change track and adjust volume without looking/turning on the screen (just remember to map the buttons also in WMP10 settings).
Anybody know if Coreplayer supports hotkeys by "holding a key" (don't want to buy to find out). Only player I actually seen this in is WMP10 and I tried alot of others (mort, tcmp, pocketmusic5, pocketplayer, gsplayer).
Try AEB Plus:
http://ae.inc.ru - the shareware version has virtually all the functions of the registered version.
It does not do the shake but multiple presses on the volume and long presses.
I think Mobile Magic (on this forum) does find some types of shake but I have not tried it.

Yes I toyed around with AEB Plus, just seems to overkill, having a big footprint with a lot of features I have other programs for. Some programs should stick to the main focus (mapping stuff) and not try to evolve into an all purpose swiss army knife (taskmanager, memory/battery monitor etc).
this is what I use with my wired earphone
1. using AEB Plus, map the side volume up key as "Press Up Arrow key" , map the side volume down key as "Press Down Arrow key"
2. go to the registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd , set defaultkeylock from 1 to 0 . This will enable the volume button when your touch hd went to stand by mode
Using the TouchFLO music player, I can now press the side button Up (previous track) and Down (next track). Best thing is the touch hd's screen remain off ..
Note that I have done tons of other modification so I am not sure if the 1, 2 enough to achieve this. good luck
How on Earth did you get the music to keep playing with the screen turned off? With the screen off are all the other buttons locked too? So that the things don't get pressed when it gets back into your pocket?

zoombar to change songs

hey, i want to know if theres a way to swipe the zoombar left or right to change the song in htc sense music player while the screen is off and if its possible, could it skip the song no matter what program you are in at the time? i would like this since i never use the zoombar anyway, because its not really needed or used in most programs
thanks
Get the CAB for zoombarplus. That will do what you want.
it does exactly that? are you sure? i thought it just made it a d-pad
edit: nevermind, wrong app, but still im not sure about the app having these features tho, and im new to the registry
Having a d-pad will let you skip forward and backward. I'm not sure about if it will do it with the screen off. No program will let you do it if you have another app open... Obviously you can only control whatever is currently on the screen (the only thing I know that does let you control music anywhere is a headset).

Consider getting a set of Bluetooth headphones. Now only do you get the advantage of not having to deal with a cord, but nearly all bluetooth headphones have volume and track control buttons which work even when the phone screen is off.
what about a small bluetooth remote to change songs?
any recommendations for the tp2?
This might be what you're looking for. You need to plug in your headphones/speakers into the unit, but it gives you control of the music and should work with the screen off.

thats great thanx, i couldnt really find anything like what i was looking for, but this is perfect, definetely gonna check it out
edit: there are atleast 4 threads i have seen about the bt3030 saying it doesnt work with hd2, so im assuming it doesnt work with tp2 either

Music controls card not showing up

I've only had the watch for a day now, but it's pretty cool so far! But I was listening to music this morning through a streaming app (Music Unlimited), and when I started I saw the notification pop up at the bottom of the screen letting me know the track name - cool. A couple minutes later after changing absolutely nothing, the notification card changed to the track name and a play button. This new notification also allowed me to swipe left to see the full music control card (forward, back, volume up and down) which was super awesome! Sadly I swiped right on the card and dismissed it by accident, and it never came back... I restarted the phone, the watch, and the app a few times but nothing changed (I only see the notification with no play button).
Now I know that maybe the music control card should only work for the stock music player at this early stage, but it's pretty frustrating for it to be there and then suddenly gone for the streaming player. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this happen and if anyone knows how to get it back?
in poweramp I had to enable android lock screen (in poweramp settings) to make the card appear . maybe you've got similar option in this player
Thanks for the idea, but lock screen controls are on by default in this app, and that functionality is still working fine on the phone. Weirder still is that there's also a notification bar on the phone that let's you control the music which you would've thought would transfer to the watch for sure since it gets all notifications...
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
Ok so I've found out that Wear Music Controller will work for this app even though it isn't listed as supported, lucky! It also lists a pretty compete set of supported music apps so maybe it'll help someone else too. Seems like this will control any music playing on your phone...
I still consider this a very temporary fix though because it's not a very nice looking controller design compared to the built in one I was trying to get back, but I'm glad I found something in the meantime! Looking forward to hearing other people's solutions.
Edit:
WOW, so frustrating and confusing! It just came back for 30sec...it was there, working, then watch went into ambient mode and it was gone again...

Question Audio switch alternative?

Hello I recently updated to oos13 and it looks like the audio switch which allowed us to change the output got nixed. Anyone have an alternative or am I missing something.
I just want to be able to keep all my Bluetooth devices connected but switch to output audio from my phone.
I miss being able to click the volume then select output when I needed to change it.
Hey, it is still available from the little square of the music playing in the notifications dropdown, you can change it from there. I discovered this by chance!
Wow you're a savior here. I've spent hours looking for this as a setting but that tile just blends together I didn't even think to push it. Even the OnePlus community forums said it was gone. Still would be better back in the volume UI but I can settle for this.

So it turns out this is only an option for media that pops into the tiles. Ie can't switch audio if I'm playing a game. So although a partial success it's not the same feature they took away
