I tried using SwitchPro, but it isn't toggling Bluetooth or GPS properly in Gingerbread.
Anyone else have a widget they use with Gingerbread?
FYI, if anyone is interested, the developer for SwitchPro got back to me and he said that Google hid some interface in 2.3, so he's working on an update. If anyone knows something that works in the meantime, that would be great.

Apparently in Gingerbread, tasker is no longer allowed to turn on an off GPS due to commands. Cyanogenmod though if used will allow this, does anyone know why and would this feature be able to be inputted into a gingerbread ee03 rom? I use this feature the most on tasker and the lack of the ability is very annoying to me.
I have explored this issue as well and it seems that Google has changed the way the GPS is handled, breaking this functionality in Tasker. The dev is beta testing a new version of the app that will hopefully fix this issue. You can try get the beta apk from the Tasker website if you want to try it out.
I recently flashed takju on my Gnex that came with yakjuxw. The update has been great and I'm so glad I did it after being too intimidated to do it for the longest time. However now I have a problem being able to tether to my computer (through wifi, usb, and bluetooth) and my geolocation doesn't always work. The weird problem I'm having with geolocation is that it works for most apps but will not give me a weather location in beautiful widgets (I've tried using google and accuweather, google gives me absolutely nothing and accuweather gives me either N/A or Ontario), nor will it work when I try to google something like "movie times". Can anyone help me out? It's especially really annoying not being able to tether since I use my unlimited plan as my wifi connection and now I'm stealing off someone else's wifi.
Can anyone help me on this?
Does anyone know if the Bluetooth SMS MAP protocol is supposed to work in 4.2.2 AOKP (I'm running milestone 1)? My Honda Civic doesn't think the phone supports it, so I'm guessing it's not working, but wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was missing. Also, I'd love to know if anyone is working on it or knows what the status is. I moved from an old hacked-up CM10.1 over to AOKP hoping maybe this had been fixed/was working, but alas, it looks like I'm still out of luck.
If I had more time, I'd offer to fix it up myself (and may still) if someone could point me in the right direction to get started. From what I saw in old posts back during the CM9 days this was working, so it seems that it'd be possible to revive without too much deep knowledge of the protocol itself (some already did the hard work)...

well there are known bluetooth issues with 4.2.2 roms
I have a bluetooth headset which seems to work fine...
however I have a bluetooth mouse which recognizes but doesn't work in 4.2.2 roms
All 4.1.2 roms built off official stock seem to have bluetooth working fine...
hope this helped m8
In JB, a new Bluetooth stack was implemented. The MAP profile code, which was added to AOKP in ICS, is no longer valid. From what I have read, the new BT stack is not open source, so devs will not be able to reimplement MAP, at least for now.

I have not had much success in getting replies from folks in the thread regarding the latest update from T-Mobile so thought I would post it here.
Ever since the 4.1.2 OTA update from T-Mobile, the weather widget no longer is able to detect my location and get updates on it. I can manually set my location, and that will update, but if I try to add a location and click the "Detect" button, it hangs for a moment trying to update then simply quits, without detecting my location.
Someone suggested I delete data from the weather widget app in settings, which I have and still the same problem exists. Anyone else have this issue?

Have you had any other issues with any other apps that use the GPS?
The most I can advise is a Factory Reset otherwise. Unless anyone else has any better ideas regarding this issue.
Look in the GPS fix thread stickied here. It may have a few things to try.
Do any other gps utilities work?

I should have mentioned this, but I have no problems with location settings in any other app, whether it be using 4g connection, wifi, or GPS. But to my original question, are you guys not experiencing this problem? I simply want anyone else to confirm that with the new update, their weather widget detects their location without issue...?
I am not experiencing this issue, with any weather widget/app, nor with any other GPS dependent app. Granted a week after I updated my phone I bought Nova Launcher and switched to using the Weather Channel instead of Accuweather, and since then I rooted my phone, but I still do not experience the issues you are having.
Check the GPS Sticky Thread, it may help you.
Sorry to dig up a old thread, but this problem was resolved with the latest OTA update.

I wonder if anyone can answer this for me. Been using the last Beanstalk J.B rom for a long time but in the last 3 or 4 weeks i've been trying out KitKat roms. My problem is that whichever clock/weather widget I use it doesn't work properly unless GPS is on. Never had this with J.B, they worked fine with just data connection. Is there an extra setting that i've missed so it works on just data? if I don't turn the gps on the app prompts me to turn it on and won't work if I don't.
Can anyone help? cheers.
