it says create contact at the top with a blank screen. then say Android.process.acore. has stopped

sounds like to me that a file didnt get pulled outta the zip right somewhere... rewipe and reflash again and see if that fixes it

I restored data and its working...i'm going to test it for a couple of days and see what happens...

Samsung epic 4g custom rom issues

I have a Samsung epic that when I flash a custom rom on it it never gets 3g it just switches between 3g n no service but the 4g antenna works
If someone can pm me if u have any insight to what's going on or how to fix I greatly appreciate it

I would say 1 or all of the following three things
1) try reflashing the rom
2) try flashing a sifferent modem
3) try updating the prl

Restore your backup and reflash the ROM... Seems to work for me.

You've got some helpful responces, also consider that you may have a bad download of the rom. At least verify the file size, or download a new copy to be sure.

Data on flashed epic to cricket...

I randomly lost my data on my flashed epic on cricket..and my phone keeps popping up the hands free activation...plus when connected to wifi it constantly shuts off then reconnects....but my device still says 3g on it but no data...help please?

Did you flash something on top of that custom rom that was tailored for cricket? Did you back to up your rom before this? Sounds like you flashed over your custom rom for cricket. If you backed it is up, do a nand restore.

I didnt flash any roms or anything. And i just restored a backup right after the phone was flashed to cricket and it says 3g but i still have no data

As far as I know, unless they installed a custom rom, you never had 3G working with cricket in the first place.

3g works on cricket with the stock rom, the only thing that doesnt work stock is mms. what rom are you using? I have several cricket roms for the epic.

does it matter? i have sleeper_ROM, i just tried editing all the profiles in qpst. i have 3g icon and now with the upstream bar and downstream bar animates but it no avil. I still cant load pages in browser

So youve tried going to settings...display....screen display....lock wallpaper and chose from there? Are you on stock rom or using a app for themes?

Cm7 dropped keys and swype issues.

So I'm running cm7 with nyan kernel and when I type on my keyboard it sometimes misses a character. Is this kernel related would flashing another kernel fix it? I remember this was a problem back on froyo and there was the flashable zips to fix it but I haven't seen anything like that in a while.
Also, I restored a backup of my swype keyboard (the blue one from most of the tw themes) and it works perfectly, but everytime I reboot I get all these FC's on it and it doesn't go away until I restore "app only" in tb. Its not that big of a problem but its annoying. Is there any way to get rid of that? I believe it also is a cm7 related issue since it didn't happen to me on tw or cm9.

I've had a similar problem with CM9 Nightly on Nyan ICS. Once I unrooted back to stock using ODIN and rooted again (clean install) with the same ROM, with a different kernel this time, my keyboard seemed to run smooth.
My keyboards problem was it would disappear outta the blue.. I had to exit out of my messaging app completely, sometimes even thatt wouldn't do it.

I currently went back to tpr so if I go back I will try to flash a different kernel cuz I was also using nyan kernel so maybe that would help. Thanks.
