[Q] Why can't I flash custom rom's ?

I have rooted my phone for a week now, flashed AuraxTSense 8.4
Want a gingersense rom so could choose between AceS(coolexe) and Insertcoin(Baadnewz), tried both but it's stuck at the htc boot logo, however if i flash AuraxTSense again it does work.
Does this have to do with radio or anything

are you not wiping user data, cache and davlik cache before flashing the new rom?
you may need S-Off for certain ROMs
| AmonRa 2.0.1 | PVT4 40000 S-Off Alpharev 1.8| HBoot 0.93.1000 | Radio 5.17.05.08 | LeeDroid 3.0.3 (A2SD) | HTC Desire A8181 | UOT Kitchen Mods |
You need to preform a Full wipe (Wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache) - because they are different bases. Also, be sure to check if those ROMs need modifications to the Partition table - Insertcoin (if you talking about DATA++) needs the CM7 Partition table (so you need to S-Off your phone).
I always perform a full wipe/ wipe alluserdata before i flash a rom.
And for Insertcoin i use the a2sd version, not data++
The Cool AceS rom doesn't neccesarily need s-off, it says it very clear.
No other solutions?
btw I use Amon-Ra 2.0.0 recovery if thats maybe the problem.
Just noticed, your Radio. It's old. Update it to the latest one.

If you want to use, AceS port the youn need the one in the thread. (5.17....) http://leedroid.ftp.rshost.eu/Bravo_Addons/Radio_32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08.zip
I just have my device rooted and everything, not that well known in this subject as you, do i have to flash the radio like every .zip i have to flash, and is this risky?
Yes, you flash it from recovery like other .zip files.
And yes it's risky, so always double check the file you have downloaded (size, MD5) to make sure it's not corrupted - or you'll brick your phone.
But the files in the thread I linked are OK.
Ok, thankss, i'll try it just hoping nothing goes wrong(fingers crossed)
Thank you SO MUCH! AceS is working,
Your help meant a lot to me was working 9 hours long yesterday on it, The dutch android forum didn't help me.. got to xda and problem solved
Glad to hear you solved your problem

Stuck at Splash Screen Trying to Install Runnymede

So, im trying to install Runnymede for my desire...
I flashed Cm7r2 (which seemed to flash in a mere second), Flashed the ROM, then wiped all data.
Im now stuck at the splash screen for over 20 minutes.
Any ideas?!?!
Why did you wipe data after flashing the Rom? You should have wiped BEFORE flashing the Rom. Try wiping data and reflash the Rom.

You should also make sure you downloaded the CM7 version.
Hi everybody,
i have the same problem. I wiped all...install the Rom v2.2 with XD2SDX...after install reboot...and then it stop at the splashscreen
RunnyMede 5.3 with XD2SDX works fine.

FIXED [Q] Stucked on boot after HBOOT change

Hi,
I am not new at flashing and modding but got stucked and need some expert help
Here is what I have done:
1. had hboot cm7r2 and Runnymede AIO ROM - Working great but decided to sell Desire
2. Changed HBOOT to Alfarev Sense, partitioned to ext3
3. Installed Leedroid 3.0.8. Sense ROM
4. Rebooted - after that can not go further than boot screen
I repeated procedure few time but still on boot screen
Any ideas ?!
Why don't you try the STOCK partition table because it has a bigger system partition size
Probably the best choice for you would be to restore stock HTC rom.
Just sayin...

did you format all partitions? aligned ext3?
Sounds like you did not wipe cache after changing Hboot and did not wipe anything when changing Rom. If you did that, the Leedroid Rom does not fit into Sense Hboot, so you have to change to Stock Hboot:
Wipe everything, flash hboot (do not forget to reboot bootloader and wipe cache afterwards) and then flash ROM again.

Thanks, I did not follow that procedure.

[Q] Stuck on boot after flash

I have:

I would like to flash WildJOY_Wildfire S_1.2.1 rom with theme iOS based on CG 7.2 RC 3.0.
I was rooting device by walkthrough on this website. I have latest CWO for GSM HTC Wildfire S device, 5.028.
When I come to recovery, I have blackscreen, I am using droidAtScren (Java program to controle what I am doing), I found this on youtube like solution/fix for problems of black screen in recovery on wildfire s. Another recovery TWRP doesn't work stuck on HTC logo when I trying boot into throughout HBOOT. All recoveries installed throughout fastboot.
"Only this things could something break. I installed GooManager+recovery without root cause I don't known what I have to make first. Also I was trying WFM Manager by Eoghan2t7 to root cause any recovery doesn't work for me until I found this fix with droidAtScren." Finally I rooted my phone with CWO and root.zip.
FLASHING:
Firstly, I wiped data, cache, Dalvik, system, then flashed kernel_gpu_tweaked (zip in thread of WildJOY, By mi info it is kernel from CG 7.2 RC 3.0), then flashed WildJOY rom, then gapps-gb-20110828-signed and rebooted.
Secondly, I wiped data, cache, Dalvik, system, then flashed WildJOY rom, then gapps-gb-20110828-signed and rebooted.
After that I fast booted boot from WildJOY rom (through fastboot).
Nothing. I tried wape cache and Dalvik. Still no progress.
Nothing solved my problem. I am stuck now on boot screen with htc logo.
Can you please help me?

[Q] Custom ROM doesn't boot any more

Hello everybody,
two weeks ago I've rooted my Desire Z and installed a custom ROM. (Android 4.2.2 AOSP Jelly Bean Custom ROM). Everything worked finde for two weeks. Since last week, I thought that loading the battery doesn't work as good as used to before the update. On Friday all of a suddent the custom ROM doesn't boot any more. I can go to the bootloader and to the recovery of the system.
I tried wiping cache, dalvik cache and after a backup a factory reset (wiping all data) and reinstalling the custom ROM again.
I can see the HTC logo and then a black screen. My adb doesn't find the device anymore.
Is there any way to debug to find out whats wrong or is there any other way get the phone working again?
Thanks for any help,
GlasgowKId
