[Q] [NEED HELP] My Desire Z dont be S-off ! - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

one time i coud root and s-off my phone, then i wanted to setup new official RUU WWE 1.72 but i couldnt because my phone has asian RUU and get error.
so i wanted to setup clockmodrecovery and setup custom RUU but i couldnt.
when i do factory data reset my phone and root and s-off with any method (visionary and gfree) my phone is root and superuser in on but s-on (when i reboot to bootloader , bootloader show s-on !!) i do every thing but show s-on. and clockmodrecovery wont be install. when i use rom manager to reboot into recovery my phone goes to android recovery mod.
what can i do to s-off my phone and flash any rom with clockmodrecovery??
HBoot Version:
0.85.0008
Radio Version:
26.04.02.17_M2
Kernel version:
2.6.32.21....
Software number:
1.34.707.5
sorry for my bad english!!!! :-"

Please post what is on your phone now? Kernel version? build number? Software number? Hboot version? Radio? No one here can help untill you give as much info as possible. And Im not quite sure I understand what you said about root, did you have s-off before and now you have s-on, or have you always had s-on? What did you do to " formated to factory" exactly? What did you flash, RUU???
More Info Please.

Again if you were already rooted with S-off , and you say you did a factory reset , what exactly did you do to "factory reset"?????? In your first post you said you had perm root before, so this means you would have had S-off, meaning in order to get S-on you would have had to unroot your phone. How did you root your phone the first time??? What did you do to unroot your phone now???????? Doing a factory reset would not unroot your phone. So my guess is you never rooted the first time. So that means you must be doing something wrong in the rooting process, as far as I know your version is rootable, what methods have you tried and exactly what steps have you done in the processes.

I wonder if the 1.74 RUU worked at least enough to change the phone back to S-ON, and as has been discussed the 1.74 stuff can't be rooted using normal methods.
I might suggest this for help:

[Q] Cannot (re)root Wildfire after reverting to S-ON and Stock Rom

I have a Wildfire that I S-OFF'ed and rooted a while back. It originally had 3 UK firmware, although the phone was unlocked for all providers.
I remember having to downgrade the hboot to 1.01.0001 to get revolutionary to work. Unfortunately I cannot remember the exact steps I took to S-OFF and Root it, but they weren't anything out of the ordinary. I recently had to S-ON the phone and reflash the original firmware as I thought I'd have to return the phone to the shop.
Now, I'm trying to redo the whole process again, I want S-OFF and Root but I'm not having any luck. Currently, the phone is:
Hboot 1.01.001
Firmware 2.1-update1
Baseband 13.45.55.24H_3.35.15.31
Software V.1.37.405.1
Revolutionary won't do it, Unrevoked won't either. I've tried to both upgrade and downgrade the roms with RUU exe's but its unsuccessful. I've used both Windows and Linux so it's definitely not a driver issue; the phones are recognised. I can flash ClockWorkRecovery, but am getting a failed NAND flash error at times.
I'm sure I'm missing something as it was a real breeze last time. I'm really frustrated, especially as I'm lumbered with this crap firmware. I want my CyanogenMod back!!!!
Something that caught my eye was the firmware version: "2.1-update1". Is this the same as 2.1?

You can give my guide a go, it's in my sig. I've included very detailed steps.
Edit - I have managed to gain s-off once again, make sure to use the latest ruu
problems I had where revolutionary failed at zerging cmd
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1145035 the buzzdowngrade pack from here did not s-off
I ended up restoring from a different ruu instead of the tesco rom, from where the phone was from
RUU_Buzz_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.22.405.1_Radio_13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10_release_160191_signed
Then revolutionary worked perfectly.

Ok, i wil help you as much as i can and to be honest if you follow the instructions you will most likely get over the problem because your phone is like any other Desire HD in the world.
Follow the steps in the thread here to get S-OFF, then flash clockworkmod from here. You're pretty much done....then you can flash a radio according to the rom you select and enjoy !

Wait, can you access Clockworkmod? or is it stock recovery?
i can access the clockworkmod recovery v4.0.1.4 (ACE HACK KIT)
i even flashed another rom but they dont boot up!they stuck at the HTC.
i already did factory reset and wipe cache everytime before installation...
That version of recovery is old. The kit flashes 5.0.2.7 I believe. So you must have used an old version and that where the problem came from. Ok so your branded. Do you know to what carrier? What country?

i bought the phone from india and and bout the carrier i realli dont knw what do u mean...my phone just shows htc and there is no extra app in it, i mean from any provider. what should i do now?
this is the one indian RUU i found. I know there is a fastboot command to get phone information an that will tell us exactly what version you have. (makes it easier to search) but in the mean time try this one.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/neulm2
boot your phone into hboot and mast sure fastboot is selected. plug in your phone to pc and run the RUU

Can't ROOT it again!

Hey guys,
I got a problem, that I can't root my Desire again, and I don't know why.
My Desire was once rooted, but I unrooted after installing the original RUU 2.2. version of android, After that, I installed 2,3,3 version, but I can't boot it. It shows me some black screen on boot.
I updated to HBOOT 1.0.3.003 with the official ruu upgrades. Now I can't get back on track and root it again with revolutionary (cause it supports only 2 older hboot versions).
Tried with unlocking the bootloader from htcdev, not completing the final step with copying the code because it showed no one at cmd prompt.
My phone is now *** LOCKED (OOW) *** in the bootloader.
I'm stuck at rooting process, want to install some great ROMs, but I can't. PLEASE HELP GUYS, i really appreciate you!!!

we need more information.
what hboot are you on?
what rom version?
what guides have you tried already?
what errors did you encounter?
S-OFF allows you to flash radio and all stuff,
using HTCDev (S-ON) method, and after root your device,
you'll be able to flash rom's, CWM's, but not to flash radio.
I've my WF rooted, but no S-OFF, and I can flash all these soft's
(I've a custom rom installed)
S-OFFing Buzz
My device didn't Unlocked by the HTCdev coz it showed errors.
I followed the Full Guide S-OFFing Rooting & Sucessfully got S-OFF using REVOLUTIONARY few months ago...
(the GoldCard step tortured me alot but finally I got through it)
Thanks...
I have s off but find it no easier to root my wildfire, tried all methods and hit brick walls!

HTC one V Hboot 1.18 installing stock RUU-S ON

Hi guys...
i desperately in need of help. i am in stock rom and i wanted to root my HTC and i did unlocked using HTC dev method. and installed CWM recovery. it worked fine for about 6 months (plz note i never flashed any custom rom, just unlocked with the stock rom)
but now suddenly my sim card is not detected. when i go to settings the flight mode says 'turning off' and it never turns off...and hence my sim not working. so i decided to reinstall stock RUU but it says wrong RUU and failed.
Info:
****Unlocked****
PrimoU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
Hboot 1.18.0000
Radio-3831.19.00.120
eMMC-boot
CID : HTC_038
i tried flashing stock recovery and relock the mobile and then RUU but it fails.now when i searched in internet i came to know that i need to down grade hboot 1.18 since no RUU is available for this version and for doing so i need to do S-OFF. i tried rum runner but it ended up in failed to update error. so plz help me. :crying:
I want to know why the radio is not working and also how to revert back to stock RUU.?
P.S :i have a doubt on how it happened-last week i updated SuperSU and on recovery menu in Hboot it showed me warning that " Rom will flash stock recovery, proceed to fix.? " i gave no...i am not sure but i thing it may be the reason because i havent done anything new since i rooted my mobile.
take a backup with CWM recovery
bro before doing anything to stock rom pls backup through CWM recovery
1st of all, to find a compatible RUU for your phone the hboot is irelevant, you need to figure out what's your CID. There is a CID application on play store that will tell you what you need: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tritonsoft.cidgetter&hl=ro
2nd from what i understood in your post you are still able to use the ROM somewhat, try to activate ADB in developer settings and reboot the phone through adb command. you will need to install android SDK and update your envoirnment variables in windows. you can lookup a tutorial on google about how to do that or if you can't find it you can PM me and i can give you some instructions.
it's very important to find a way to reboot your phone in bootloader because in order to reflash a RUU you need to relock your bootloader and to flash back the stock recovery.
it does not sound to me like your phone will be hard to fix (i had a lot worse and still managed to fix it ^^)
good luck with these steps, see if you can get any results and update here, we'll figure something out
cheers
