I have cyanogen's 6.1.2 rom on my evo. I flashed a theme from a .zip but decided I didnt like it... How can I go back to the default theme from cyanogen's mod? I've wiped and reflashed the rom but I'm still having left over elements from the theme. halps!

I made a theme mod and want to have it in a cooked rom. I get boot halts...
The theme is ok if installed separate but not if included in the rom.
Any help?
Any ideas?, seem same if i try with other frame-work.apk's from other theme, rom will not boot.
I really want to theme my phone, running CyanogenMod 6.1.2.
I'm having trouble finding the best themes... the ones I like most are the Flavored Ice themes ( http://jbthemes.com/jairomeo/flavored-ice ) but I'm worried they won't work with 6.1.2?
Thus, I have some questions:
Does anyone know from experience if the Flavored Ice themes will work with CyanogenMod 6.1.2?
Where can I find themes for 6.1.2?
Will themes that are just for "CM6" work with this version?
Any and all help is appreciated!
Themes for 6.0.0 or 6.1.0 will not work due to framework-res.apk changes in both versions, but the only difference between 6.1.1 and 6.1.2 were some kernel tweaks, so if a theme works on 6.1.1, it will work on 6.1.2.
As for the question about your particular theme... I have no idea. You can always try though, just take a Nandroid backup beforehand, and you'll be fine. If the theme doesn't work, just restore your Nandroid.
Am stuck with this ugly theme that came with the default sense 2.2 rom. Do i have to switch roms just to be able to change my theme? I know i change boot into recovery and select the themes zip and all that but im yet to find a theme that's for the default 2.2 sense rom. Any help please?

Nope. You're stuck and will have to learn to really really like the stock theme.
Just kidding... If you have a look around, you posted this in the Themes section. So, as long as you're rooted there are tons of options to choose from. Take a look at Konikub's many themes, or other like Riptide's, etc....
Have Fun!
Thanks! Ill take a look!

You have to be on a deodexed rom in order to use any theme.
I just rooted my phone, flashed superuser and backed it up. Now I installed a theme, but after it gets passed the 4G screen it makes me force close a lot of apps, did I install it wrong? PLEASE HELP!
You installed a non compatible theme most likely. Restore your backup
Having trouble with AOSP? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295702
How do I know if it's a compatible theme?
Most themes say which rom its for. If you were on the stock rom you need to find a stock rom theme
We're comin from a pure power source.
Damn, sorry I'm a noob, how do I know what stock Rom I have
Well, if you just rooted then you probably have the basic odexed ROM. Most of the themes are for deodexed ROMs.
Please correct me if the theme is for odexed, but I am guessing that is the problem. If you didn't make a nandroid you may have to flash your first custom ROM

nandroid shows up in the boot menu, and i flash the theme. Is there any sites you guys can recommend for themes?
2.3 root
hboot 2.16
How do I find if the ROM type and if it's Odexed?
If you haven't specifically flashed the stock deodexed rom, it's odexed. You'll need to flash the stock deodexed rom to be able to theme. The themes will need to be made specifically for stock, Sense 2.1/3.0, CM7/AOSP and MIUI themes won't work.
If you want more themes, you'll be better off flashing a custom rom. I'm not sure about the availability of Sense themes, but CM7 and MIUI have theming built in. These are both AOSP roms, they're not Sense which is what you're used to. MIUI is my personal favorite, and definitely the most themable.
You can always make a nandroid backup and try out different roms/themes. If you don't like what you flash, just restore your backup or keep flashing until you find something you like.

Hi,
I'm running Black Ice - and the ROM itself is good, but I'm not a huge fan of the skin. The lockscreen is very dark and the symbols have changed, and also the statusbar has different icons which I'm not that keen on.
How can I restore the default cyanogenmod theme, is there a flashable zip that removes all of the custom skins?
Thanks
You should just switch back to cyanogen. Devs take a base and add a theme to it because they are targeting a specific look. If its not for you then switch to something else. If there are other themes available for a Rom they will be posted in op or someone in thread will post a working one. I don't think they are interested in going for the cyanogen look since cyanogen already has the vanilla look down.
I know the black ice devs don't want the vanilla look, and I'm ok with that. But you can skin roms in different ways, so surely one is the default cyanogenmod look?
The thread mentions copying systemui.apk and framework-res.apk but I'm not having any luck.
And blackice has some great tweaks, which is why I'm using it
Black ice is derived from cyanogen so you should be able to extract those two files from framework in cyanogen and push them to your phone and then reboot. What problems are you experiencing while trying this? You could try using the kitchen to swap the files.
