Hi, as the topic says. Sometimes the phone vibrates in standby mode. It just did when I took it out of my case. I thought "perhaps I press one of the volume buttons when holding the case and pulling the DHD out. So I pressed the volume buttons to test and after some presses it does vibrate !! But when I unlock the phone it seams as nothing has happened at all.
So why does it vibrate?
Does anyone got the answer?

Not sure if you are understanding me. Take out the battery. Then put it back in. Hold the volume "down" ...keep holding it down and then push the power button.

The only action that phone can do is: push both volume UP and DOWN buttons and power on the phone. Then ORANGE LED and Keyboard is lit, and phone vibrating few times.
Nothing else.
You know to just hold volume down, not volume up, right?
Press and hold the button that makes volume go down. While holding the down volume button also press the power button.

I was playing with buttons of my defy, screen locked or off, pressing volume buttons many times.
Suddenly I discovered that when I was holding vol+ and pressing vol-, the defy vibrate shortly (haptic feedback), one time. And continued to test all combinations again and again, and then I had a three shot haptic return!?
I didn't find if it was toggling some settings, so does anybody have an idea of what it is doing (if it is doing anything...) ?
I'm using stock froyo (nordic).
Thanks.
Check logcat about what happent...

Holding the volume buttons allows you to skip to the next music track if that option is enabled.
Hey guys,
When I simultaneously on the volume + button and the R button the phone vibrates once, then lag vibrates for five seconds and three times in a row.
This happens on any menu. it's embarrassing for onlive gaming :/
I Need some help lol

Hey. I have a big problem with my HTC ONE X. When I put it in my pocket it restarts because if you press the power button for over 5 seconds it hard resets. I read somewhere else that the combo for hard reset is the volume and power button. Is this true? If yes why my HTC ONE X resets only with the power button? Can I change it somewhere? Is very annoying because every time I put the phone in my pocket then next time I will unlock the phone it will request my SIM unlock code. Soooo annoying.
Thanks
Long pressing the power button forces the phone to abnormally restart, and the combo takes the phone to bootloader mode.

Oh there is nothing to do about it Just keep it always in my hand I guess.
Press the power button for 10 secs, the phone will have a force restart, which is helpful when it freezes. You can use a cover which makes the power button harder to reach, so it doesnt get pressed when in your pocket.

If you want to keep it in your pocket, make sure the power button faces up

hiya guys
how about when the handset has not been sitting in your pocket and has been on charge in a location where there has been no chance of the powere button being interfered with, just happened to me 5 mins ago.

Hello there, I was installing Recovery using this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746682, I only went up to the first part of unrooting the phone where it asks me to connect my and install te recovery, my phone after the root did not want to turn on. I tried using the Volume +/- along with the home key, nothing, it just vibrates and nothing. I tried pulling out the battery and the same thing happened, no matter what I did, it vibrates and won't turn on. Also when I hook it up to the charger and try turning on it vibrates and it keeps vibrating in loops, around 2-3 sec apart. What is wrong with my phone? Please don't tell me it's a brick, I just got it yesterday ;p

I think this kit is honestly the easiest way to brick your phone. There are simply too many options, most of them have no real use for this phone, and the free version never gets updated. Honestly think it's a bad move for people who are new to the game.
To get in download mode:
Start with the phone off.
Press and hold the home button and volume down button.
Press the power button until the phone vibrates.
Release the power button.
To get in recovery mode.
Start with the phone off.
Press and hold the home button and volume up button.
Press the power button until the phone vibrates.
Release the power button.
Release the volume up and home button when the blue text appears in the top left corner of the screen.
If these won't work, you are bricked. Time for JTAG.
I agree 100%. That kit seemed pretty helpful for some when this was still pretty new, but recently it seems there are more reports of failures (or worse) than successes. When you get this fixed I suggest reading all the stickies and then take it from there.
Good luck
