[Q] Change notification text color - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys I have another issue that hopefully someone here can help me with. I am currently trying to theme Lous Redemptive rEVOlution rom and I need some help with changing the pull down notification text color. I've tried following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=766774 and have changed the required xml's, but after I reflash the edited framework file the text does not change, it just stays black. I've changed the xml files in both layout and layout-hdpi-v4 and still nothing. Can anyone help me out?

the text for the actual download that is going on can be changed in the download provider.apk. if you wangt to change the no notifications, ongoing date, time and verizon wireless let me know.

here is a screen shot of me coincidentaly downloading redemption 2. something or other. any ways everything in my taskbar pulldown is cyan EXCEPT for the actual download or whatnot. i had it changed but didnt like it

Yea I want to change the date/time stuff in the pulldown menu. Basically everything I circled here.

download something. that will be white. i just changed mine to cyan. if you want to change the text for usb debugging or usb screen you need to go into colors or decompile. thats when you would have to invert. it doesnt change the black text in one area. but to change what you want you need to invert. black background and white text. thats a lot of work

Its either in the framework.res or the htc.resources files.
Open the res folders and find the png that is just green highlights. Then edit all those to red, you probably need to do this anyway.

thats my problem i have extracted both of them and still no dice.
I'm having trouble finding those pngs too. I'm trying to find them in CM6 but they aren't in Framework from what I see. I thought they might be in settings but they aren't in there either.
been searching all around for this as well
found this:
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-themes/60280-theming-guide-progress-bar.html
its actually not a png
the process is a bit involved, but it works. and once you figure out how to make it work, its not that complicated
i just did it and am going to upload a new version of my cm6 nightly theme

Okay, I've just ported over a few themes to the ultimate droid 2.1.0 and in the transition, my menus font is white on a white backgroud. I cannot see the font unless I use the trackball and highlight it. Would anybody be willing to show me what files to change that or even better help me by changing them for me? I am not a themer by any means and am just looking for a little help thanks.

It's in the colors.xml I think .
It may be in values folder.
Once you decompile the
framework.apk
Not at a computer or I could give you a better idea.

I'm running the new Urban theme that was just updated for Ultimate droid 2.1.0....It happens on any program i run when i hit menu to bring up menu options, the font is white on a white backgroud.... Just need to change either the font to black by default or background to default
halfway there
Ok, I've extracted the framework-res file to my PC... I located the colors folder and now i'm in need of help on how to edit the file to make the font black instead of white... What program do i use to edit the file, and how do i repack the framework-res to insert back to the phone? Any help
menu_background.9.png and the image right next to it meed to be themes, they control the background when you hit soft menu button.

[Q] Change the color of rosie?

I was wondering if there is anyone willing to make .zips that will change the color of stock rosie? I like rosie's setup now but options that would change it and make it semi transparent (like in beliEVO rom) or red and black or blue and black would be awesome. Im on azrael X 2.0. If it could be made for that or any stock roms?
Any help on someone willing to take the plunge n do it or show me how would be great thanks!

[Q] Dev/Themer Question XML and Image to edit??

Ok so I've managed to edit a few of my apks on my phone to something that I like better and that's been easy because i knew the files I needed to edit would be in the apk itself. With me so far?
So now I want to edit some files on the ROM I'm using, but this is where it gets tricky, because I dont know if I need to edit the framework, SystemUI, or Roise, etc.... to get what I want.
So... here is my question: Attached is an image of my menu that pops up when I git my Meny button on my Evo. You'll notice my icons are pulled from another Rosie.apk which I replaced with my current Rosie.apk. I had to pull edit and push this mod because flashing it was not compatible with my current ROM. So now, that i have the icons I want, I want to make the background of this menu (and possible others) black transparent and the text white. I know this can be done because I've seen it and would like to know which files need to be edited.
Does anyone know that could toss me a bone??
I've also posted this on Android Central, but no one seems to know there...
for the menu background color it should be either menu_background or menu_background_fill_parent_width both in framework-res.
For the text color i dont know but poke around the .xmls in framework or ask here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468254&page=283

how to make a "light" theme

i really like how the people app looks in ics
can i edit framework to change the settings menu background to the white color in the people apk? as well as change the text to black so i can actually see it? maybe even make the dialer have a white background as well. thanks for any help i would love to make ics more of a "light" theme.
EDIT: is it possible to change the image in frame work labeled (not sure on the name) holo_background_dark.png, if i did replace this how to i change the font to be dark as well
a lot of text issues arise when making a white theme. more so than just changing the text color in framework and sysui
It's possible, of course, but the fact that you are asking those questions warrants the answer 'but not advisable for YOU to mess with it'.
It's not simple as 'changing one background/text color'.
Edit: if you are really determined to do it, take a look at this: https://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AcdxIJRSH9ypZGZzc2pxNDlfMjdnazk4OHNxZA&hl=en&pli=1

thank you for the guide.
my title isn't really clear on what im doing, its not necessarily a whole theme, i still want to keep all apks the same as well as the status bar and stuff, but more or less changing the background image of the settings menu to white by extracting the frame work and replacing the gradient grey png with a white one and then changing the font in the settings menu to a dark grey. which works in root explorer alone. i just need to find out how to change the font color. which could probably be done by putting in a hex code to a system file right?
if not o well atleast i tried lol, hopefully there will be a light theme soon.
