[Q] Best GPS to us in Canada&USA for DHD? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm just wondering what's the best GPS to use in Canada&USA that doesn't use my data plan. I've searched the website and it seems that Copilot's not bad. Any other suggestions? Thanks!!!

Best settings for GPS?

Hello, what would the best settings for GPS be? I'm running CM6 and am trying to use Google Maps in the most reliable way.

[Q] Noob tethering question

I have rooted my EVO and I have WiFi tethering working great, but it is slow eats battery. What is the easiest way to get free USB tethering with the stock ROM and root?
P.S. I know about the apps in the market, I have yet to find a free one that allows HTTPS and works but I have not tried all of them so if you know one works tell me
I know you asked for free... but if you can't find what you're looking for, I have Easy Tether and it works just fine over USB. 3G or 4G, and never drops the connection.

[Q] Barnicle or Wireless Tether?

I was Wondering if anyone has any suggestions to witch one is better for froyo.
I currently have the Viper ROM Frozen 4.0.3 But I cant get Wireless Tether to work I have tired changing every setting on it and nothing. I have gotten Barnicle to work with another ROM, I have not tried it whit this one because im at work. Is there a reason no one has mentioned this app here, I have looked and searched everywhere but I dont see any feedback on it.
Sorry if this question has been posted before.
Wireless tether requires a Kernel with netfiltering. Barnacle does not, so it will work with Viper ROM.
Thank you, which do you prefer?

[Q] Reverse Tethering?

Before I get bashed for wanting to reverse tether, let me explain. I'm currently deployed to Afghanistan and all we have is wifi and trust me it's hardly worth a damn. I can reach it in my sleep tent with my laptop and wifi booster which is an ALFA 802.11g but my T-mobile G2 won't pick it up. I have connectify installed and operating but my G2 just cycles through connecting and disconnecting. I am rooted and I'm currently running cyanogenmod 6.1.1. Does anyone know a way around this? More specifically how I can connect to connectify or through USB? Thanks in advance for any help. Or, if any of these two options are possible?
CyanogenMod 7 has reverse tethering built in - at least on nightly 35 it does. Give that a shot if you don't mind switching to CM7. Trutst me, it's high speed stuff
Other than that I have no solution.
@KCRic Where is the reverse tethering in Cyanogenmod? I have been curious about this myself.
I am also curious - can't seem to find it.
I am also curious, where is it?

GPS aGps location fix issue

hi guys,
need your help on this before i get mad and throw my gnex out of the window.
im experiencing great problems with gps fix on any offline gps navigator like copilot or sygic. The gps fix is hard to get and even when it works its really wiggly m it goes on and off continuously and soetimes it puts me kms away from where i really am. Annoying.
Im on aokp build 36 / franco kernel and already tried the gps fix (i used faster gps) setting the server to europe/italy but no luck so far.
Does the agps activate automatically with gps? how do u turn on barometer?
is there anyone who can spare an advice on this? maybe updating radio?
thanks in advance!
Try using an app like gps status to download agps data before you go offline? I guessing you can't get a GPS fix because you have no data connection...
