I don't think there is a solution for using the voice commincation service of yahoo messenger. There is Skype available though if you prefer voice over ip.

it's possible because i see it in action

So you mean you have actually seen someone who made a call over Yahoo voice coummunication service using a Windows Mobile phone? I'm sorry but I really doubt this. You would need a decent flash palyer (does not exist) to do so. Another solution would be a special client software for the yahoo messaging service but such a thing also does not exist.
If you have really seen someone doing this I will gladly revise my statement. I would indeed be a great thing if it was possible.

You don't understand what i have been asking.
I didn't said that i see a video call from Windows Mobile, but " Today a friend of mine, made a call from his iphone 4 to me at Messenger \ voice and video "
And i wondered if this may be possible with a windows mobile phone.
I found a little program and it's working : VZOchat -- windows mobile / windows xp, 7.

Nimbuzz vs Fring

Hi,
This is a new thing for me (yes, I am too late in this kind of VOIP service).
Which one is better for Android, judging for the client app?
If I read from the Nimbuzz at Cyrket, a lot of users complaint about the new version 1.4, Facebook got hacked, etc.
Fring also does not look satisfying.
So, if you are using this, which one do you recommend? and why?
For me, client reliability and network / connectivity are the most important.
Thanks for sharing !
Damn ...
I found that NimbuzzOut is not supported on Nimbuzz Android app
I want to use it to make international calls to land-line / mobile ...
calling to mobile and landlines works. just tried it. it took cash from my skype account
edit: i see. nimbuzz have their own system.
So, if I buy Skype credits ... then I can make call to mobile and landlines using Nimbuzz client, right? Because there is no native Skype client for Android ...
I prefer Nimbuzz own call system (NimbuzzOut), because it is much cheaper compare to Skype.

Yes if u have a skype account you buy skype credits and in nimbuzz justr login to your skype account .Voila.
Can you send SMS with either?
Nimbuzz says it sends it but it actually doesnt. havent tried with Fring.
..I read in the other thread about Nimbuzz that "it´s is always connected and it does not support push notification, so is draining alot battery.."
Well I used fring before, which was enough for my needs to have several account (skype,icq...), than I tried Nimbuzz and liked to have my Faceb. account, cool..BUT: the drain is real! Fring need much less battery!..but no FB
nimbuzz doesnt appear to have sip support in android client yet, big turn off for me, since im trying to consolidate messenger/communications apps.
sipdroid sounded like crap on my phone
fring seems pretty good, sip aim msn support and sip sounds really good quality, except its UI is ugly as balls, anyone know a way to skin it differently?
ive been using google voice with a gizmo5 number and setting up the sip account in fring and it connects pretty nicely for voip, its nice so far when i am home and have no cell reception and someone calls my cell(google voice number) and it sends the call to my sip client(fring)
I've tested both for making Skype-out calls. Both work fine. I'd prefer Nimbuzz because of the interface. But is it just me, or is there no dialer in Nimbuzz? This is the only reason I'm sticking with Fring at the moment...
I gotta say that I tried both and Nimbuzz was a clear winner for voice quality over wifi to Skype friends. Fring also has a slight delay in audio.
But I've kept Fring because of fring-a-ling (SIP calls) which work fine.
Does anybody know of any VOIP calling to international numbers for absolutely free for windows mobile. Cause im sick and tired of 200 dollar bills coming into my mail.
Thanks.

Absolutely free. I'm sure we would all want that.
Free calls to landlines don't exist. But what's wrong with Skype? The rates are ridiculously low.

I've used fring. My landline is much cheaper. But if you add up all the minutes, It becomes expensive, especially to germany and UK. It's like 29 cents/min. Thats ALOT.

[Q] Skype app?

Just a quick question, as skype is not available for the Galaxy S, can anyone recommend an alternative app?
I still want to use my skype account, and the credit on that to make calls, mainly to france.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Nimbuzz can use skype accounts (as well as a lot of others...)
I suggest to give it a try

Thanks.
It seems like the best option, but can I make skype-out calls with it using my skype credit?
you can also use Fring which supports Video Calling over IP
I'm still looking for one that will allow me to chat via video with pc skype users.
Thanks guys. I'll give these a try tomorrow.
Why can't Skype just make a proper app for Skypeout, eh
There was a android version out, but limited to some mobiles, providers and just USA i think..
Dunno why no skype app is available for us..
Skype blocked Fring.
Nimbuzz works on SGS and supports Skype out... Few bugs but ok to use.
And that's it, nothing else for skype available at the moment
I use Nimbuzz but like others mentioned it is pretty buggy.
Searching will find 'com.skype.android.lite.apk'
Haven't tried it, but it is available.
so Apple's Facetime is somewhat unique since we can't do Video calling over IP on the SGS
Thanks guys. Now using Nimbuzz, found my Skype credit, now testing over the weekend
Edit: Crap, the calls go through, ring, but when the person on the other end picks up, there is silence at both ends. Any ideas?
We can't do video chat using Google Chat? I'm surprised!
for moment whe can use iMovicha ... this program allow video chat also with client pc or with other phone with the same program instaled .. but , whe miss fring or some version skype for android
I wonder when someone creates a facetime compatible app (either on PC or android or any other device).
Would be great..
And why skype isnt able to make a new androidversion is also a good question..

Suggestion --Google Voice App

I am not a developer myself, so this post is a suggestion for developers, for a WinMo app that would be very nice to have. (Or if it already exists, someone please let me know where.)
Formerly with Google Voice, to make a call to a telephone number (free to the US and Canada, charged elsewhere), one would tell Google Voice the number one is calling, and the number one wants to be called back on. In other words, one did not really make the call from the computer, but it would call you back to a phone number, and dial the other party.
The new Google Voice addin to Gmail works differently though, in that you can make the phone call directly from the computer, without it having to call you back to a phone. To use it one has to install a browser plugin.
I tried it with a few mobile browsers, and none worked. I don't think they make a plugin that will work with any mobile browser.
Rather than a plugin though--it might be nice to have a standalone Google Voice app that can do this, make the calls directly from the mobile device. (Not using the actual phone of the device, but only the internet connection.) In other words, similar to Skype Mobile, but utilizing Google Voice instead.
Is that possible? Or--does it already exist?

Even though I'm also looking for one, there have been many topics on this. Please use the search function.
In summary; No, there is no SkypeOut program for Android right now. The closest we have is Fring, but I've heard that it can be quite buggy.
Nimbuzz is the only programm which is able to login using your Skype Account and placing voice calls, but sound quality is disappointing.
For chat I prefer Imo.Im
Nimbuzz and fring used to be able to do Skype (badly) but they no longer support Skype at all from what I can see...
I am not aware of anything that can use plain Skype on android right now. Other threads mentioning fring, nimbuzz etc are out of date.

Yes. I have done it with Skype, Fring and the google one I think is Gtalk.
I have done it with skype and gtalk as well. On my wifes galaxy sl it has an option for video call when she makes a normal phone call. Does this phone have that type of option?

What I do have is Contacts from Skype that I have merged with my Google Contacts allow me to make a skype video call. It has the option "Video call with Skype"
I went to Contacts ---> Groups --> and choose my Skype user name and can see all my Skype contacts and those contacts have the "Video call with Skype" option.
Worked just fine calling my friend's Xperia Play VZW over Talk. Front camera was better than his
is there any way to have video calls via dialer? i've got free video calls, not data so I don't want to use skype or talk
Ask you're survive provider what app they support in free video calls, dialer has no ability to make video calls.

Seconding dudejb here -- this is done through some app provided by that carrier, which may only be available on phones sold by that provider. Even if they won't willingly provide you with the app, hope is not completely lost -- you can dump the APK from a friend's Android phone, or get creative with an OtG cable on a demo unit at one of their stores. No guarantees that'll work though -- it may depend on some weird framework or hardware inside their phones.
any changes?
Hi, I've tried to search forum in this topic without success, so I need a clear answer for this question: is there any ROM supporting native video calls at the moment for i927?
And the second question (no need for very clear answer ) - anybody found any way to make native video call with i927? I thought this device is part of Galaxy S II series of phones which were declared to support such calls, but I'm quite confused now and afraid of being mislead...
