While I was waiting to watch Superman yesterday, I noticed these two guys playing a PSP racing game against each other. I wanted to see how these guys were playing against each other - wifi or bluetooth. I fired up my wireless network list and saw them. You'll see a screenshot of what I saw when I got home. During their race I was able to log on to their network with a good signal. What could I of done? IM them? Send a message to them? Browse their files?

I believe PSP's have built in wireless.
I have a PSP and I use the Wireless Connection for multiplayer.
The wireless card is very good and can reach access points far more than 10 meters. 8)
I have noticed many softwares are being released for just the PR point of view, with no actual practical use out from those applications.
Two of them which I found are:
1. Netflix: image quality, impracticality of paying to watch 2 hr long movie on cellphone.
2. Last.fm: You can't scrobble any music played on your cell, be it from zune phone memory or from streaming music from zune ... the only thing that scrobbles is when you use last.fm's own radio stations, which are nothing but a tool to promote artists who pay to get listed on their radio 'suggested tracks'.
3. ... list yours.
netflix is great. Mine looks clear as can be. Great for work breaks or keeping a kid entertained while you are trying to get something done.
Netflix is a bonus. I am sure people had their subscription long before the WP7 phone and they were streaming to their TV. So streaming to the phone is a bonus.
There are a lot of other music apps that are great to use that do not 'promote'. I am sure if Last.fm isn't your thing, you can find a susbstitute.

Has anyone here been able to get Modern Combat 5 to work with the Nyko Gamepad Pro on their Fire TV? I download the game last night because it looks really good, and it recognizes the gamepad way at the beginning when I press a button to skip ahead, but during the beginning of the actual game play when it tells you to shoot with the R2 trigger, nothing happens. I've used the same controller with all the other games I currently have installed, including Dead Trigger 1 and 2, Beach Buggy Racing, Roboto. and several others. They all work fine and I know this game supports game pads, but I don't know how to make it work. Thanks in advance for any help with this.
Forgot to ask, but has anyone also tried to play Overkill 3 on their Fire TV? I tried to play it last night, but it just hung when loading.
I can't be the only one who's tried to play the Google version of Modern Combat 5 Blackout on the Fire TV. From what I've played on my Tab 3, it looks like a pretty good game, I just don't what could be so different about the one from the Google Play Store that could prevent someone from playing it. The only thing I'm able to do is look around with the mouse, but not fire the gun. I think the game is detecting my controller, because it's giving me prompts to shoot with the R2 trigger, but nothing happens when I do.
Are you rooted with the Play Store installed? If not then its not gonna work. Gameloft and several other app makers require you to have the play store and google services installed to play. I am guessing you do have the play store installed so thats probably not the problem. Have you tried a different controller? I haave some controllers that work on certain game while other will not. Go to settings/system/about/controllers, cause every since the latest update some of my controllers do not show up in the list anymore, but always did on past updates. Since they have given us usb support for storage, I have had issues with bluetooth and USB controllers. They work mostly just not like they used to.

You're right me having the Play Store installed. All the other games I have installed that support controllers work fine, as well as Asphalt 8 Airborne. I use a Nyko Play Pad Pro and it shows in the Amazon controller setting and the other Android Settings.apk. I did try a USB gamepad I have, but it's for my computer so it didn't work. I considered getting a wired XBox controller, but I don't want to spend money on something I may not use that often, especially when my bluetooth gamepad works so well. The game works very well with the controller on my Tab 3 8.0, and Beach Buggy Blitz also works well with it, which I also downloaded from the Play Store. It's not the end of the world if I can't get it to work, but it would be nice.

If I were you I would ask someone on here for the Fire TV version of Modern Combat 5. There is another thread on here where some guy is asking for the apk, but its pretty clear that he never paid for the game in the first place, cause he said he seen it for free on amazon, which I know is a lie cause I has just paid the same price to get the Fire TV version as it was selling for in the play store. Nobody gave it to him, but you miht have better luck if you ask since its clear you have actually paid for it. They used to sell it on amazon, but for some reason took it down. I actually need the Modern Combat 5 Fire TV edition too, cause I accidently uninstalled it. It sucks paying for something then losing it.

Actually, the only reason I installed it is because I noticed it was free on the Google Play Store one day when I was updating a couple other apps last week. Otherwise, I may not have done it.
The Google Play Store version of Modern Combat 5 Blackout is a nice game and works well on my Tab 3 8.0, but I would like to be able to play it on my Fire TV. As I stated before, the game is actually free on the Google Play Store, and I just checked it again a little earlier to verify. The game installs and loads fine on the Fire, but when it comes to actually controlling it, nothing happens aside from my being able to move the camera around a bit with the mouse. I think the game is detecting my game pad, which is a Nyko Play Pad Pro, but after hitting a button to skip something in the very beginning it acts like it's not there. I don't want an illegal copy of this game, otherwise I would've downloaded it already. If anyone can tell me how they got a Google version to work on their Fire TV, it'd be appreciated. Otherwise, I will give up on it and move on.
i'm also looking for a way to use my xbox wireless controller working with gameloft games. missed the chance to get the firetv version. google playstore version is free.
several tricks didn't work for me (use wired keylayout from xbox360 and so on)
I have 2 Gen 1 AFTVs.. I use unotelly DNS service and for ages I was using IPlayer just fine. A few weeks ago that stopped (been travelling for a month so only now finding time to try to solve it).
Now I am getting the 'something went wrong with this stream' error on everything..
To help debug..
IPlayer works fine on a local PC.. So the unotelly DNS mask seems to work, at least in that player format.
If I dont have the Unotelly DNS set the AFTV app wont open.. Currently with it set the app does open, allows browsing of shows / menu system, which it doesnt do without unotelly DNS and hence is passing at least stage 1 of the geo lock, and attempted playback of shows.. but then fails to load the show.
Both boxes exactly the same.. Both with the 'standard' iPlayer app and the BETA option turned on.
Failing to understand why a PC can play it, but the AFTV with the same settings cant. Shame as I do like iPlayer.
Was working fine previously for many months. From memory this stopped around new year.
Anyone else similar issues ??
OK answering my own question..
Once its has been run in 'beta' mode (turned on from settings) it will not stream in either beta o after reverting to normal..
But once reverted to normal, power cycled, then it will work..
I messed up with it in beta, then not getting it back with a simple switch, needs a switch, and a reboot, once booted clean it does.
My son has been trying to get these things to work on his tablet but is running into an issue. The controller seems to work fine outside the game and even within the game menu. The problem is as soon as he spawns into a world the controller starts acting like it's lost calibration and has a mind of its own. Anyone have any ideas?
Mods. Can you please move this to the general section?
