[Q] Disable volume buttons' sound - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way to disable volume buttons' sound?
I use the "no lock" app, and when I'm turning the phone with the volume buttons, it makes this annoying sound... (same sound they make as when you change volume)
I'd like to have it disabled altogether. Is the any hack/mod to do that?
The phone is rooted and I'm running senseless revolution with Lou's #4 Kernel.

Me too
I too have wondered the same thing

[Q] Disable volume buttons from changing ringer?

Hello,
Does anyone know how I stop the volume buttons from adjusting my ringer volume? It's very annoying to sometimes accidentally press them without realizing it, and then have the phone explode at maximum volume when a call comes in.
Thanks!
I can do this, but without testing it im not sure what it will do. Meaning, it may disable the button completely in the rom. (will still work in recovery though). But its worth a try.

How to turn Shutter Sound off on Stock Unrooted Galaxy Nexus!

The shutter sound appears to be controlled by the "Media" volume. Setting it to silent also silences the shutter sound.
One can use the volume buttons while in camera mode to change the "Media" volume".
While this is not as beautiful as a setting option "Disable shutter sound", the lack thereof is not reason enough for me to bother with a custom rom.
Used to be the case in Gingerbread that you could just put the phone into Silent mode and the shutter sound wouldn't trigger.
That is not the case anymore.

What do you mean? That it used to be possible in Gingerbread and that now it is no longer possible in Gingerbread?
It seems to work for me on ICS right now. And the only volume I have to set to Silent is the Media volume. All other volumes can still be on. And the nice thing is that one can change the Media volume directly in camera mode, since the volume keys don't control the zoom.

I mean that putting the phone into silent by pressing and holding the power button and choosing Silent mode used to mute the shutter in Gingerbread, but that does not work in Ice Cream Sandwich.

[Q] Ringtone & notification volume too loud

Running LeeDroid with volume steps set to 'Finest' (not sure if this is relevant) and the notification and ringtone volumes are still quite loud even when set to minimum.
I like to set the volumes to just loud enough to alert me while dozing but not loud enough to wake me when sleeping. Can't do it
I know I can select different tones and create audio profiles but I want this phone to work how I want it to, just like my good old Desire did/does.
Is there a mod/hack to alter the min/max volumes?
Upgraded to LeeDrOiD 6.4.0 and having the same issue.
Anyone with any ideas? We can control the level of auto screen brightness, can the same be done to control the volume steps?
I can't seem to turn the volume low enough at night to not be disturbing!

Volume and vibrate don't revert after removing headphones

Hi, I dunno if this is a stupid question or what but here goes...
I'm on AndroidME CM10, and when I plug in the headphones the phone automatically goes to vibrate. Fine. But when I remove the headphones it doesn't revert to the mode it was in before the headphones were inserted. And if I change the mode using the toggles, the ringer and notification volumes are really low, nearly minimum. So I have to expand the volume menu and turn them all up again. It's not a huge problem, but a bit annoying if I forget to toggle it or to turn the volume up. On my old phone (Galaxy 5700 Spica CM7.2) it just reverted to the previous setting whenever I took the headphones out. Is it a ROM thing, or a JB thing, or am I just stupid and missing something really simple in settings? Thanks
probably ROM related. Works for me
Was worried it might be; guess I'll just have to flash a new ROM

Any way to disable volume buttons to skip tracks?

Hi there, I have been running FrostyJB ROM for quite some time and I'm liking it. In the most latest release, dj added the function to use volume rockers to skip tracks. The feature is nice but it has been bothering me as it keeps changing the profile mode. For example, if my phone is on silent and I use the skip track feature while screen is locked, the phone will switch to sound mode. Is there a way to overcome this changing phone profiles with the skip track feature or a way to remove this feature?
Thanks for your help!
