When using setcpu I have just the screen off profile on, and set as 460 max and 245 min.
Now when I play a game and leave game paused, screen will lock and the games have bad slow downs and lag, till I quit them am I doing somethink wrong?

What's the lowest you've set for Setcpu's 'screen off' profile? I tried 200 min/200 max and it didn't wake my phone when I tried turning it on. I have it set at 200 min/500 max right now. anyway to go lower than that? I'm trying to conserve battery as much as possible.
i got mine set to 200/500 mostly because 200/200 caused glitchy wakeups and occasional glitches when running background tasks with screen-off such as navigation/music/etc.
i also undervolted both 200/500 to 825mv/850mv so either way they both are barely using any of the battery
main reason for locking CPU to 500mhz max with screen off is in case something goes haywire and goes crazy on cpu, at 100% cpu usage @ 500mhz won't heat up the battery at all.
Just 200/500 for me, 200/200 at one point and no more than about 15 minutes later the screen wouldn't wake up.
Does anybody know what the ondemand governor uses as it's default screen off settings. By that I mean if I have profiles disabled in setcpu and just allow the ondemand governor to determine frequencies and I leave the max min freq's at default values, then what happens when the screen is turned off?
I know the cpu will eventually go into deepsleep but there are inconsistencies.
If I dont use setcpu and just allow the default kernel settings (im on doomlords btw) to determine the frequencies, then when I turn the screen on after leaving the phone for a while, the cpu speeds up very quickly and the system becomes responsive before I can ever notice.
If I use setcpu however, with a screen off profile set to ondemand, max 245, min 120, then it still takes achieves deepsleep as often as not using setcpu but there is a noticeable lag and stutter for about 5-10 seconds as I turn the screen on to use it again.
Does anyone have any idea;
A) Why this happens?
B) What is the default screen off behaviour for the ondemand governor on doomlords kernel.
you may need a program like system monitor to record your % of cpu activity, im on stock rom and i have it at 100 - 300 mhz max when screen off, i used the program while im asleep to see if there was issues but there was none or lag when the screen turned on
there isnt any inconsistency with mine,but then again i removed alot of the programs i dont use to have very few programs running in the background,playing music with this setting doesn't cause issues
i havent read alot into his kernal yet,guess you wait till someone that has more knowlege in his rom.
[v03 onwards] added new CPU governors:
InteractiveX
Savaged-Zen
SmartAssV2
hey folks...
(sorry for my bad english )
Im using wildchild rom 2.0... using No-Frills CPU Control i over-clocked my cpu to
Max = 768 Mhz
Min = 122 Mhz
Gov = Scary
I/O = sio
phone runs smoothly without any lags and probs... but when i play music it plays without trouble and when the screen off the music starts to stuck ... and i cannot immediately wake my phone... it takes about 15 sec to get screen on ... so i changed the gov to - smartassv2 (with same freq)... and checkd the music.. it is playing smoothly.. then i put the phone on charger and gone out... my mom called me thinking that im having the phone... now my mobile got frozen at my mom's incoming call screen.. so i pulled the battery and turned on the phone
pls help.. which is the best frequency, gov for normal use... ( i want better battery backup)...

Set the minimum to 245 Mhz nd Governer to smartass. See if it fixes it.
During the course of playing nova 3 and mc4 i sae many lag spikes and after checking my cpu clocks i realized
That at 60 degrees celsius there is automatic downclock to 800mhz. As the phone gets hot quickly its impossible to
Play those games withoug lag spikes and throttleing, can anyone suggest how i can prevent the cpu from downclocking forceing
It to run at 1.6ghz? Iv tried set cpu but it cant prevent throttleing.
When I watch a video on YouTube or if I play a game. The temperature goes to 107.8 degrees and my screen gets hot and also on the back as well how can I prevent it or is it time to buy a new phone?

Do you have it rooted/with a custom ROM/Kernel?
I experienced issues like that when I overclocked the phone, but now that I have it to a more battery-friendly kernel and settings, I don't experience it at all.
Overheating while playing games is normal, try to set cpu speed as low as possible w/out loosing game performance
