Hello all
I've done a little researching, sorry if i've overlooked something.....
My question is, i want to de-brand my Orange DHD, to remove all the Orange crap that comes with it, and install a stock ROM, then maybe a custom ROM after.... so o i basically get the Radio S-Off then i'm good to go?
Would i need to follow this first?
(cant post outside links yet but here is the title: [TOOL][VIDEO] One click Radio S-OFF, SimUnlock (Easy Root & S-OFF Guide)
My handset info is:
Baseband: 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
Kernel: 2.6.32.21-gf3f553d
Build: 1.40.61.2
Software: Same as above
Bootloader: 0.85.0007
Thanks for any help.
I'm not an expert by any means as I'm also figuring out how to do all the flashing stuff.
But this is what I "think" you need on top of the radio s-off.
The sequence I followed is as follows
1) install visionary
2) temproot
3) permroot
4) s-off through http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855403
5) radio s-off using your posted thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855403
6) install titanium backup through market and do a backup
7) install rom manager through market and backup current rom
something I did extra
8) install sms backup & restore through market and backup
I think from here, you should be ready to flash a new rom and radio
And the instruction for flashing should be on the individual thread the rom you are trying to flash.
Maybe you can update your own steps so that it can be a guide for newcomers including myself
Thanks for the reply, i am a little bit worried though as of the different kernel versions and software versions which you need to be on etc? or doesn't it matter?
AFAIK, the radio and custom rom should be compatible.
i.e.
You install a particular rom, the thread will specifically recommend which radio to install.
As for the kernel, it should be together with the rom.
So, you just need to flash the rom and radio, and you will get rom, kernel and radio unless you want specific kernel with different rom.
Then, you will just download just the kernel and flash it.
For me, the most impt this is first do a backup of your stock rom and data.
I've done it
I done the S-off and the rooting, put the 1.32 stock rom on my sd card and booted into the bootloader and installed it, running fine
Thanks guys, i might look into custom ROMS next, i do that via clockworkmod right?
I did back up the rom via cloclwork before i installed the stock ROM but i don't know if it backed up correctly, the file size is only 4meg :/
Hi, could somebody please explain to me about the correct order to flash a branded Desire HD with a build version 1.75.111.2? (from rooting until flashing the ROM)
Do I have to downgrade and debrand first? if i need to do it, when should i do it?
What does easy full one-click wipe actually do?when do i have to use it?
Thanks fo your help and sorry for my bad english, i hope you understand what i mean.
Go to sticky roll up thread, then read and do everything it says in the Downgrade thread, then follow the link to Radio S-OFF Tool thread, and finally follow the link to ENG S-OFF thread. It is a chain of guides, you will find everything you need there. Just read
No need to use wipe zip, just use option "wipe data / factory reset" in clockworkmod before flashing the ROM.
Basically it goes like this:
- Downgrade
- Visonary temp & permroot
- Radio S-OFF
- ENG S-OFF (optional, to flash radio)
- Use Rom manager to get clockworkmod
- Wipe data and flash the ROM
- Flash recommended radio (optional)

really the most harmless process to flash any base band its using FASTBOOT COMMANDER tool.. its intuitive and easy to use....here is it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=854065
for flash another RIL, a lot of people uses CWM and all should go well..
but u can do it from SDK of android, pushing it with adb parameters (why not?lol)
for me, better than CWM, sure
erm~~ thx a lot~~
finally i flash Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2 successful!
thx SERGI.3210!
XD
can i move from CyanogenMod 7 to original android 2.2 ROM for wildfire?
if so can any1 pl guide me how to do this?
regards
If you had taken a Nandroid Backup of your stock ROM, restore it.
If you hadn't,Run an RUU's from here:

One more alternative - Flash a Safe Zip RUU from here: (Post #1. Point 5A)

thanx for the help
Beware !
Do keep in the mind that the latest 2.2 official RUU floating around might turn the S-ON on ur device.
Effectively unrooting it.
And then you would have to resort to Clip or Alpha method to root it again.
Ask me, it's a pain in you-know-where

Agreed. Here's a safe update.zip, both rooted & not rooted : (disclaimer: I didn't test it) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877977
Alternatively, you can extract system.img and boot.img from the rom.zip you can find in your %TEMP% after you exec an official RUU, an flash those with the flash_image command-line tool in clockworkmod.

i have downloaded two ROMs from the link 2 (Post #1. Point 5A)
1- Buzz_Froyo_hTC_Asia_India_2.25.720.1 -
2- Repack of the chinese RUU, Android 2.2 Froyo Rooted Chinese apps removed
after extracting the zip file i didnt see any exe file to run. i can only see folders named "META-INF" and "system" and boot.img file.
do i need to install this ROM the same way i did for installing CyanogenMod or is there any other way to do so.
thanx
Flash that .zip file, don't extract it.
Install like Cyanogenmod, and, I personally dont recommend using the Chinese RUU.
how about this link
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=windows mobile&model=Buzz
can i install any of the ROMs by running RUU exe file only.
Yes, you can. Any RUU beginning with 1.x is an Eclair ROM, and with 2.x is a Froyo ROM. Just choose a WWE ROM and not any carrier branded one.
i have downloaded and installed the following ROM
RUU_Buzz_Froyo_hTC_Asia_TW_2.24.709.1_Radio_13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10_release_161114_signed
but its wifi is not working. wildfire detects wifi router and shows connectivity but there isnt any browsing, email, youtube doenst work.
pl guide
