i haven't seen a thread on this topic. what are the improvements to the camera with the 004 hardware revision?
There arent really any improvements. Just a different camera hardware. I have used both, and honestly cant tell the difference in picture quality.
What i have notice with the camera improvements is the flash works alot better, when taking up close pictures in the newest version. No pixelation at all.
aw, i was hoping for iphone quality photos.

Hey all, I've got the new OTA running and I was thinking about my camera quality again. I asked this a while back, but are there any camera apps that improve the quality of a photo? Or is it possible to get the 3.0 camera working on my phone? I've noticed the quality of my mom's thunderbolt's camera to be much better than the dinc, is the hardware actually better, or is it software that is doing the magic?

There are apps in the market that will supposedly make your pictures look better, but they really just reset filters like brightness. I believe the Thunderbolt may just have better hardware because it's newer. I don't think you can get the 3.0 camera on the OTA either because the 3.0 camera relies upon the newer Sense framework. HTC moved around a lot of stuff between 1.0 and 3.0.
Looks like user NODO-GT has put together an HQ camera apk / patch for the Sensation on ICS. Quality looks quite amazing compared to normal pics.
Is the Sensation's camera hardware similar to/the same as ours? I wonder if there's a way if we could get 1080p recording as well (although that might take some more processor power). We had a thread that was going for a while comparing the dinc2 camera quality (grainy in aosp, etc.)
Anyway - here's the link to the thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1533238
Any chance of porting this mod over at some point? Or having something similar?

So, I've been seeing a lot of people on the LG G3 subreddit (/r/lgg3) raving about flashing the Motorola Camera and getting superb results. People were saying that they were getting better results with it than the Lenovo camera among other things, but nobody appears to have commented on it here.
Can someone chime in on its efficacy, and post some comparison pictures?
Best aftermarket camera for this device. Picture quality is comparable to the stock. Give it a shot.
Surprisingly, I found that the CM Stock Camera takes better pictures than Motorola's.
The first picture was taken with the Cybershot Compact Sony Camera. The second one with Motorola's, and finally the third with the Cyanogenmod Stock. In my opinion, the quality is very similar in cybershot and CM Stock. Even de CM camera seems a little bit better, with slightly less noise. The photo taken with the Motorola camera is notably worse than the others. According to this, I really don't understand why are there so many good reviews with the Motorola's on LG G3 with AOSP ROM.
Cheers!!!
Bought 4a5G to replace my Pixel 5 which had no gaps whatsoever, but the camera didn't produce sharp pics, maybe because of the new software version. Didn't know about that until now so I shot some pics w/4a5g today having the camera updated to ver. 8.x.x and then I reverted that update to 7.x.x. and took some more shots. Whatever I say about any differences, it'll be a subjective opinion, I see it – other ppl may not, what do you guys think?(...322276.jpg taken w/8.xx version, the ...34183.jpg app reverted to older 7.xx version)
I can only notice a lack of details and focus.

The older app version works better, I have more pics to compare. It's a phone camera after all and it desperately needs a better, bigger sensor if Google wants the Pixel to stay ahead of their competition.
Have someone working GCam for our Moto?Wanna try-very dissapointed with the speed of focusing a photoshoot ...
thx in advance
I'm using Nikita GCam ver 7.4 and everything works. The image quality is better than stock but not so much. The main advantage is better low light photos and night mode. My old Pixel3a is making better photos, but overall the quality is not bad.

Any reason not to use the latest version?
I installed it and it seems to function as advertised but I haven't had a chance to test it thoroughly.
Also any config files for our particular model?
Thanks!
Newer versions have changes that mostly cannot be implemented on our phone due to hardware and software differences.
I just made few changes, mostly ditched macro camera, and increased a bit exposure compensation. The file is attached.
