I have googled a lot and I can't really come up with anything so I was wondering if this would have to be my last shot. I'm not really familiar with this phone so I don't knjow what to do but anyone know how to fix it? I don't have a custom recovery or rom.... Idk what do... Please help, thanks

You shoudnt have used Visionary . it is well known that it could mess up your phone.
The bad news is since you dont have a costum recovery or eng hboot ,yes you have bricked your phone, but the good news is, now you can fix it by installing the new shipped gingerbread.
but it is not rooted yet ,so you wont be able to root after that, but hey, its better than a bricked phone right?
so download the zip from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074391
Do I use adb or hboot to do the update img thing? or recovery?
Thank you for your help

You dont need to use ADB for this, download the PC10IMG.ZIP put it on the root
of your sd card ,insert the sd card in you phone again, press the volume down button and turn you phone on, while still holding the volume down button ,this will
put your phone into bootloader ,from there your phone should detect the file and will start flashing it automatically ,(it could take a while to finish)
good luck ,let us know how it went.
Edit: forgot to tell you this, you need to rename the file to PC10IMG.zip .
Alrighty then, Raizakins is my gf's username, but I had gotten it done. Everything works perfectly I really appreciate the help, I don't know what I would have done I think I spent hours googling stuff but none of it worked I install adb and everything but it didn't work so this did and I am thankful. I only had the phone for a day too lol
I'm kind of glad it doesn't have root yet for 2.3. I don't think I will be doing that again I got scared enough haha. But again, thank you
Glad you fixed your issue. But did you miss the stickied thread in the General subforum warning against using Visionary, or just choose to ignore it? Not trying to be snippy or anything. Just trying to understand the thought process, as there still seem to be plenty of people choosing Visionary. Despite warnings otherwise which have been going around as far back as maybe December or January.
Well, I got my G2 Tuesday and I didn't know what I was really doing, my buddy at work told me to use Visionary so I had no clue that it was buggy like that he didn't warn me. That's about it lol.... But as of now, I have no further plans on attempting to root again. And yeah, I saw the stickie and read it while all this was going on and was like "Aw crap".
Edit: I think somehow the temproot and permaroot collided and screwed me over haha!
I really messed up. I tried to root my epic 4g (sph-d710), but I was an idiot and I used the instructions to root a galaxy II 19100. I realized that I screwed up but now that i have found the correct instructions on how to root they do not work. Is there any way to fix this. everytime I try to get to the boot loader it tried to download a kernal. any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have MIUI 2.3 on my old T-Mobile G2 that I need to use temporarily on AT&T. It is rooted (can't remember, but probably HBOOT root), but it must be unlocked. Unfortunately, GFree isn't working. Without doing a factory reset, is there a stock/older kernel available that will work with GFree? I couldn't seem to find one in the General forum. There was a link in the unlocking tutorial to a known GFree compatible kernel, but it was a .img file...and I don't know how to load that. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
images are flashed with fastboot
fastboot flash boot xxx.img
(just change xxx to name of image)
i dont know if simply flashing a stock kernel will work so you may need to downgrade further to root the proper way. if you are need of more help doing this setherio made a great guide to do this otherwise there are always many helpful people in the irc channel. or let me know where your stuck and i can see if i can help anymore

Thank you my friend. With your help I eventually, eventually got it unlocked. Apparently root/unlock is *difficult* w/ Gingerbread. After that had to add an APN just to get EDGE, too.
Hey guys,
I've never installed a custom rom and I was thinking of getting Cyanogen so I rooted my phone and got 6.xxxxx (forgot the number but the most recent one) CWM recovery but the recovery didn't work and it said "Long time no see". I did some research and I figured out that I need to unbrick my phone in able for CWM to function properly. Can someone just confirm and perhaps briefly explain why i need to do this. It seems hard and dangerous and if I could I would prefer to avoid doing it to get a custom rom. If I do need to do it, is the stickied unbricking guide up to date and working?
On another note, I have unlocked my phone (using Rogers on a Bell phone). Will installing a custom rom do anything to stop that from working?
Thanks!

Yes you are correct you need to use the unbricking guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044645
The reason for this is LG locked the boot loader for ICS as a result it can only be installed through gingerbread. If you have Windows 7 and not xp you could get errors during the kdz install portion. If that's the case use this to install the kdz file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149211
Then return to hereric's guide to complete the process. Good luck.
In regards to your 2nd question it shouldn't. But to be on the safe side it can only be unlocked from a stock ROM so I would install one of the many cwm installable cwm based on v20(x) first. ie. V20c, d, e or f. Then go to any ROM.
Sent from my LG-P930 using xda app-developers app
Thanks
Thanks Ok i guess I understand it now, so this whole unbricking is just downgrading your OS.
And I have windows 8 that wasn't an option Anyway i'm in the process of unbricking atm following your instructions i'm currently installing the kdz. I'll let you know how it goes but thanks a lot for the help, I really appreciate it.
Hello guys I hope I can get some help.
I am all new to the mobile rooting and ROMs and stuff like that.
I am not a noon I know a lot about pc but never got much into this mobile tweaks.
Anyway I saw the cm12 ROM in this forum here and wanted to install it.
My phone was already rooted or unlocked when I bought it it has su manager installed so I think it is rooted and unlocked.
Even when I am at the fastboot menu it says UNLOCKED.
BUT still I am not sure if it is ready to try and install a rom.
So I tried to follow the guide on how to unlock the phone at this forum about HTC one v .
And I got stuck at step 9 I think where I had to go to fastboot mode and connect my microusb to the PC.
There I get the little bubble saying USB device not recognized so I can't continue to do anything with cmd.
So the question is .
Do I even need to do this or is my phone already rooted and unlocked with bootloader.
Is there a way to check this things.
Because I installed ROM manager and tried to install the cm12 ROM from the SD card but it doesn't work it aborts the process pretty quickly.
So I am completely stuck..
If you guys would be nice enough to post some links where I can find out if my device is rooted or not or unlocked or not and how to proceed it would be awesome.
I have searched for hours and tryed many things but nothing worked or I got stuck somewhere .
If someone could guide me through this process I would be really grateful .
Thank you

If the bootloader say unlocked, it is unlocked. You don't have to be rooted, as a root exploit only gives you root access to you current rom, most custom roms have root access by default.
Now reboot into fastboot menu, flash a custom recovery (For cm12 you need my twrp-recovery, because selinux support is needed), reboot into recovery, flash the rom-zip and reboot into fastboot again and flash the boot.img in the zip file.
If you need more help just search for a rom-installing guide here in the forum.
