Evo evowned my sd card

So I plug my 16 gig in to format it and poof. Never even recognized it. Now nothing recognizes it, namely my previous phone.
Any way to salvage it? I tried to plug it into the pc directly but no dice. Possible that the converter card was not sdhc compatible.
Suggestions?
The card is not recognized when you plug it into the PC? Methinks it's a bunk card instead of the phone borking it.
maybe, but it was a bit too coincidental being as I have been using the card since november.
When I had that problem, I went and got the thing formatted by a digital camera and it came back to life.
It's worth trying if you have one handy at least.
GPARTED is the answer to all your formatting needs... Seriously, download it, throw it in your computer, and restart. Should boot into it.
Thanks for the great feedback. I'll let y'all know how it goes when I get back to my comp.
you might of formated it as ext instead of fat
One trick is to format the card in a camera, then back to your phone.
Also, what brand card is it? Transcend has an auto-format utility that may fix your card. Also Transcend has a lifetime warranty for flash type cards and will replace your card with a new one, you just need to start an RMA on their website and mail it in.
Installed Fresh 0.2 and was FC like mad, then finally no sd card. I then ran RUU to back to stock with no problems. Started to use mybackup and would not work. The phone reported a blank sd card, formatting failed to report any actions, not sure about this but thought something would display ie progress. Removed it and put it in my Windows7 64bit desktop and nothing, showed disk but not formatted. Put it in my Windows7 32bit Netbook and all was good. Back into phone and Astro showed everything was there, I am at a loss here but something is going on with these SD cards or the rom! Weird business this is!
download the SD Format tool?

Was this the 8GB card that came with your Evo?
It was the one that came with it. I gave my son the Hero with an 8gig thinking I was good. It is a Scandisk so figured it was ok, same as Hero anyway. I tried the SD formatter, older version I see so thanks for that update. Just weird that nothing worked until I put it in the Netbook with 32bit 7.

Blank SD card error after root, was working fine...please help!

I just fully rooted my phone to the OTA 1.32.651.6 last night and everything was working fine. I completed a nandroid backup, updated the radio, and followed everything to a T. I haven't had any issues with my sd card until a few minutes ago when I shut my phone off and turned it back on. Now I am getting a blank SD card error and it is telling me I have to format the card. I don't understand why it was working after I rooted and now all of a sudden it is not. I even did another nandroid backup earlier today. Any help on fixing this would be appreicated.
Thanks
I just got home and tried another 8gb sd card and my phone reads it just fine, so it's not the phone. Looks like somehow my SD card got corrupted during the restart. I tried putting my original card in a reader on my computer but in both mac os and windows, it is telling me I need to format the card in order to read it. Is there any other ways you can think of to get my data off of it? Also, since I am in root, is there any files you think I should put back on my memory card if my original one can't be saved?
Can anybody help?
Mine is doing the same thing. A few days after putting the latest Fresh on my phone it suddenly told me that my sd card dismounted and now needs to be formated. Trouble is the phone won't format it and it won't let me do it from my computer. I'm trying to find out what's going on but I don't know that there's anyway to salvage the data. My phone did this once before and I couldn't save anything which sucked, but it still formated the sd card. I'll report back if I find anything.

micro sd card not working

my micro sd card is not working. the last time it was working i had it mounted to computer putting cheat codes on gba game. i dont remember if i ejected it. i know i pulled usb cord and it said sd card was currupted. so i reset phone and when it came on it said sd card is blank or unsupported file system. i dont want to lose my data. i have alot of important files on my sd card. when i tried to format it, it did nothing. i tired on 3 phones and 1 computer to format it. it always failed. i dont know what went wrong. does anyone know any programs that can fix this and help me recover my files. i dont have all of them backed up.
I have the same problem. I pulled out my phone the other day from my pocket and in the notification bar an alert read "Blank SD Card." I have tried to format it on 3 different computers and with 2 different cameras and tried countless methods. I gave up, ripped it up and tossed it. I'm calling HTC to try and get a replacement card tomorrow.
Man this sucks.. u probably shouldnt have did that in case u found method that worked...does anyone have any suggestions?

My SD card died after 3 months. It showed up that same problem and I couldn't figure out how to get it to work again. I called up the manufacturer to get a replacement. They sent me a brand new one in packaging at no cost to me. I got lucky but I'm sorry to hear that yours got messed up.
I have the same problem with my 8g SD card. After putting some mp3's the card suddenly corrupted. I tried to format it but nothing happens.

[Q] SD Card Problem

I've been having a problem with my sd card. Every time I take a picture or save one, when I go to see it I can't. Some image with a zig zag line appears every time and it's pissing me off because I tried formatting it and everything and nothing works. Well only at first then it goes back to that crap after a while. I have a 32gb FAT32. Tried to change it to exFAT but my phone say's it's damaged when I format it to that. -_-
try sd formatter for windows,it specialized for sd card,if it still error so i dont know..

[Q] SD Card Destroyed??

I picked up my phone looking to download a new ROM to it but then found that my ES File Explorer (given root permissions) was not able to view my external SD card via the mnt folder. At the same time, I was trying to back up my apps and such via Titanium Backup but it said that it couldn't backup anything because my card was full (it's default save location is my external card). It just said "Empty". I went to check my Settings to see if my card was somehow unmounted, but nope, it said it was still there. Even said that I had 11.27 GBs left out of 29 GB or whatever and gave me the usual options to Unmount and such. I pulled off my battery cover and the card was still there, so I assumed that the Android system might just need to sit for a while and cool off while off. Then I turned it back on to find that ES was still not able to view the contents of externalSDcard. So I went to my Root Browser and it too said that no files were there. I then went into my Settings and now it just says "Insert SD card".
I've had this happen before on other Android phones so I did what I normally do and hook it to my PC and reformat it. Windows found the device when I attached it via a SD card reader (the big fat kind like in your standard camera), it didn't want to format it. Windows brought up the prompt and said that it only could format 1GB so I knew Windows wouldn't be able to recognize it. I even tried formatting it via Command Prompt and typing "Format G:" and it too said there was only 1024MB to be formatted then went through trying to format and then said it failed.
I then tried pulling up Ubuntu's Disk Utility to format it. At first, Ubuntu wouldn't even correctly identify the device! Then I got the Disk Utility to recognize it and it couldn't even recognize how many GB/MB were originally on the card! Trying to format just brought up a message telling me that it couldn't do anything.
I had this happen a few times with my HTC Evo 4G OG but was able to format the card and put it back into my phone and have it work. Of course, the last time with my old 16GB card ended with it being destroyed much like this.
Please tell me that I can do something to fix this. Anything?!?!
This card is a 32GB Class 10 Patriot. This has happened before in my old HTC Evo 4G OG with a 16GB Class 4 SanDisk card. That card became unusable after a few times of this happening except I was able to fix it those times using the methods I tried above and allowing my phone to recognize the card again.
