Hello everyone... Just got my EVO today, its 004 hardware, researched and there was talk of new drivers not released by HTC to make the camera work. My question is simple, and I've searched, but the massive amount of threads here w/ Evo, I couldn't find an answer. Will the camera work with CM7 nightlies and hardware 004? Thanks for your response. ~m00n

Can anyone help me out? I know for seasoned Evo users, this is a simple question, but I've searched and can not find a clear answer. Have the camera and wimax issues been resolved for the nightlies? Any help will be greatly appreciated...

If you go to the CM 7 with WiMAX in my sig, it will work with hw0004. That being said DO NOT flash the extra kernel as it does not work on hw0004.

When I follow the link for the CM7 w/ Wimax in your sig, the listed bugs seem that Wimax isn't stable unless plugged in. Have you found this to be an issue on your end or have you found a way around it?

Its still in alpha stages, so best thing i found is after the phone has been on a long time, i just reboot if 4g doesn't connect. Its random, some times it connects no problem, other times it requires the reboot. Thanks for the thanks.

This rom is actually my daily driver but with the Savaged.Zen kernal. I find no real faults other than when turning off wimax, to get 3G to work, I have to reboot my phone. Not really a big deal for me. Else wise WiMax has been very stable for me. That Kernal, i've been pulling 7 down and 1 up and my camera works just fine. You don't have to use the Kernal they say you have too. Just a heads up.
Oh ment to put that I myself am running a white evo with 0004 HW

It's as close as you can get to aosp regular aosp has basically everything broken that's why everyone has to use cm source

These apps have nothing to do with roms its the apps themselves. They have to be updated by their developers.

Haha, thanks but I can't take all the credit. Touchpro has been doing the majority of the big changes, I am just trying to keep everything organized and up to date for everyone, and offer what I can. I think that is what is missing from a lot of roms. All the other devs listed on my github have also contributed.

The build that's on the git is from the sdk.
I just ported a source one from here:

It's booting w/ boot manager. I haven't done anything with it yet.
I hope someone can get this booting from the system w/ the touchscreen drivers.

why is there bml over mtd stuff in that zip? The inc 2 is most certainly not bml

that stuff is in there because it was a port from another rom. I just haven't had time to take it out yet

Personally, I would much rather have a vanilla build than a modified one from CM. So if you keep deving on a vanilla build, I will keep installing.

Well this is my first attempt at compiling from source and wanted to put this out there for people to try. This is a CM9 kang built from aeroevan's CM9 repository so I take no credit for this besides building.
Id like to thank aeroevan and the whole Cyanogenmod team for making some killer roms.

Whats working?
Everything seems to be working besides Camera. Seems to be borked on this build.
Interesting stuff. What's different between this specific kang and most of the ICS ROMs out there? Or were you just testing your skills at compiling and stuff?
I was just testing my skills and just seeing if I could build and it went pretty good. Ive been running aeroevan's CM9 kang for about a week and its reunning pretty decent but I figured I would compile one and run it. I believe the new ICS adreno drivers were added to Cyanogenmod's commits but I'm not sure.
Thanks for this new ROM about CM9. Hope everything will be better and better.
The last build that aeroevan built the camera worked so I'm not sure what's up with it. I'm going to do another build in a little while when I get home.

The 3-13 release has a working camera but not the updated drivers.
He pulled the working camera stuff from somewhere I can't remember. lol.
Ill go look on aero's rootzwiki page and send him a message and see if he gets back to me about it.

Unfortunately no it doesn't. aeroevan never got back to me about it. If i knew how to get the camera fix I would implement it.

Sorry. Camera isn't even working on this build. I can't find a fix for it anywhere. I've been looking throught the forums and the ones I've tried just aren't working.

i took a look at the zip and there is no camera m7x30 in system/lib/hw as opposed to all other builds. can you try adding the file from another build?

Thanks ill take a look at aeroevans zip and see what is missing compared to mine and see if I can implement it. If its working good I'll upload it.
Edit: I just tried this and didn't work. :-(

Even if there was a booting Android 4.2 ROM, I doubt it would be as stable as the existing ICS and JB ROMs, which have taken much time and effort to smoothen out. Last time I checked, the camera and camcorder on JB were partially functioning, and (someone correct me if I'm wrong) Netflix and Hulu are still really buggy...
I have plans on playing with the 4.2 and the pacman roms as soon as i can break away from school and work,i have a few people that has offered their help in my endeavor,if someone else doesn't beat me to it first.I stll have this beast until sept of 2013 when i get my upgrade,if i don't buy one first,so i might as well try to make the best of it.
