Hi from Italy!
I'm looking for an app to save / export the Call Log (in .csv, .txt or similar formats).
Do someone knows if exists an app which can do that?
Or, instead, if it doesn't exist, this maybe an invite to create it!
Thank you!
The app "SMS Backup +" allows you to backup the call logs to Google Calenda.
If you want to use one app to backup everything you can try "sprite backup".
I use it to backup application settins, sms, email, contacts, calendar and a few other things between rom changes.
I use Mobile Backup II
http://www.appbrain.com/app/mobile-backup-ii/mobilehome.backup
This one allows you to export sms and calllog to a text file.

tried sprite migrate when i got my desire and it didnt work for me, my image file was "corrupted".
1) Backup your contacts with PIMBackup (in case something goes wrong)
2) Set up a Google account
3) Setup ActiveSync with settings of m.google.com as exchange server
4) Let contacts sync to your Google account
5) Setup your Desire with the same Google account and voila, all your contacts and photos.
Hope you found this useful
Nevermind. I've been drinking all night and read it wrong. I'll still leave this up for those who are interested in migrating contacts lol
the google thing did not work for me.
i synced it up with office outlock then exported them from outlook to a file. then uploaded to gmail then it synced it up
Hi - I have created many phone-only (not gmail) contacts with high res profile photos.
How can i backup these phone only contacts?
I tried mybackup pro but that does every contact, and fails on restore anyway.
I dont want to have to create all of them again when i do full wipes...
Have you tried stock option "export to sd"? I took a backup by using this feature which is native in Desire thanks to either android or Sense, not sure which one is correct though, anyway.. u don't need to use any 3rd party app for this. (i have been using contact pics too, all of them restored after hard reset)
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I'll give it a go - thanks!

There must be an option to add them to gmail account, I always create GMail/Some other MS Exchange contacts, keeps my life easy.
Well if you want to keep the mentioned hig res contact pics then the solution mentioned above is not very usable, as you will just get your contacts on a list, which the phone can import again.
If you dont need to keep those pics, just make the backup from the contacts app, and import the file to your google account through a browser. Then sync them back to your phone. And just create all future contacts as google contacts.
I want to backup my contacts (with their photos) to sdcard and/or online, what is the best app for this?
I think you will have to sync the contacts with Gmail or take a .csv file backup from MS Outlook. Not sure about the exact method, but something like this is explained in detail at Motorola Site.
You could try the App Backup Contacts

titanium backup is good
When I sync to Google and then back to my phone there's always some data missing. MyBackup gets my contacts back exactly as they were.
Hi I would like to ask if anyone knows how to easily save your SMS messages in your Sent Items folder. I found option that can be used InTheHand the Mobile Library is a paid service. Then the library MAPI.Net but I could not find any documentation. Could someone advise me how to do it? I'm Sending SMS through the Internet and I want to save a copy of sent message to the default sent folder.
I'd like to export my SMS messages either to my email (non-Gmail) or into text format.
"SMS Backup +" claims to back up to Gmail but I read a blog about it that makes me think it works with any IMAP server, not just Gmail(???). Not sure if it can export to text.
Similar thoughts for "Super Backup : SMS & Contacts".
There are a few other blogs around about this, but I trust answers here much more than some of the stuff out there on the web. So what are you people using for something like this?
PS - Oh, "Text via Email" looks promising. I also see "SMS to Text". Few to try out, but I'd like to hear if anyone has experience with these or other solutions.
Avoid "Text via Email"

Eiw, looks like this one scans your texts for advertising purposes. That's a no-go for me.

I assume you mean for backup purposes? If so, I use SMS Backup and Restore. It backs everything up to an xml file. You can read the file, but it's not in a format that's extremely friendly to the eyes.
No, I'm not looking for a backup just to be able to restore to the phone again.
I am looking for a human-readable SMS export, so xml... that'd be my last resort -- I'd prefer text file(s) or email.
Good Solution
Tried "SMS Backup +" and found that yes indeed, although it defaults to Gmail, it can be configured to use any other IMAP server. Pretty much perfect for what I wanted. Highly recommended.

The "Restore" part of "Backup and Restore" must have not been too clear.... the app I mentioned backs up to an xml file, then restores them back, regardless of what ROM you're using... I'm sorry for not clarifying that SMS Backup and Restore would actually backup SMS messages and restore them as well.
