[Q] [Help] Contunuous Reboot After Nandroid Restore - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I made a backup of my current ROM and tried to revert back to the previous state and after I tried to restore my Nandroid backup my phone would not boot it does a continuous boot cycle over and over.
I have wiped all the data and cache and it still wont restore my backup. Any suggestions.
This came up after installing this [MOD] Uncapped Data For Your ROMS (Skyraider, Virtuous, OMGB, ETC) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=891047
Didn't seem to work so I tried to restore my backup I had made. And here we are.
Running
Virtuous v3.2.0
Virtuous Custom Kernel (v3)
Radio 2.15.00.07.28
Recovery Clockworkmod 2.5.1.7

[Q][Problem] Boot loops on MIUI

I was on MIUI for a while and it was working perfectly. but thought I'd try MikG (Sense 2.0 and GB 2.3.3) to see what Sense 2.0 was like. I've since flashed back to MIUI, using a nandroid backup as a restoration point. After I boot up my phone, I'm fine, I restore with Titanium Backup (mostly new apps and Accounts, etc) and my phone works fine on the first boot. However, if I reboot my phone, no matter what, I get a bootloop and have to nandroid all over again. Using Tiamat kernel v4.0.0 and MIUI v1.4.29. Any way to fix this?
Extra info: Didn't have bootloops on original MIUI or MikG.
it sounds like you need to do a fresh install or something (maybe a newer release?)...why don't you try wiping cache and dalvik and just reflash the rom without having to wipe everything...if not then i would recommend a clean install
When you restored your apps, ect, did you restore system settings? That'll send you into bootloop for sure.

[Q] Restore incomplete with Clockwork 2.5...

Hello all, I was in rom Seo 1.4 fusion and I'd like to test runnymede rom rcmix. Then I did a complete backup with clockworkmod, then flash the rom. I can't boot with this rom then I've decided to go back with seo 1.4 and my backup
But during restoring data, it comes black screen and the restore isn't complete (it goes back to clockwork home, but clearing the log message, then it is not written "restore complete"). I've try with another backup, and it fully restore everything. But my restore has 3month... Then I'd like to know if there is a way to use my last backup
I also had a message when wipping davlk cache saying can't mount mmcblk1p2 but I think with a SD card format it goes ok.
Thanks a lot for your help, because I don't understand why my last backup can't restore with the same rom there was...

[Q] ClockworkMod backup not restored?

Hi All, this morning I made a clockwork mod backup of my phone running CyanogenMod 7.2 ROM. Then I (successfully) restored a backup from late last year of Virtuous Mod ROM - before restoring, I wiped everything: factory wipe, cache, dalvik-cache.
Later, I wanted to restore the CyanogenMod backup. I wiped everything once more and then restored the backup, but upon starting my phone, I get a "Welcome" screen, as if I had a fresh install of CM. I skipped through all the initial setup and found that none of my apps or information had been restored.
Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have any suggestions for how to restore my data? Thanks in advance!
When restoring a nandroid backup you don't have to wipe. The backup you make with cwm is the entire system backed up..so no need to wipe.

Nandroid Backup Failure

Allow me to preface this by stating my credentials. I've been rooted and have flashed most every ROM created since day one. I'm no stranger to the processes involved.
Just recently, this started happening. If I create a nandroid backup, then try to restore it, the boot animation just goes forever. It doesn't boot loop, it just keeps going.
This has happened with both CWM3 and CWM5, when trying to restore ICS backups. I've tried flashing the VR Superwipe with no luck either. I've also tried Fixing Permissions.
Has anyone had similar situations that could offer a solution?
Only ICS backups? Did you install a different hboot?
Well I've only tried it with ICS cause I've been running them since January.
I'm using Hboot .92
I personally haven't run into issues with restoring ICS backups using CWM 3.0.0.8. I've done the same process for GB and ICS restore, which is:
1) boot into recovery
2) backup rom
3) flash a new rom then realize I need to restore for some reason
4) boot into recovery then wipe data, format boot, & format system
5) restore and enjoy
I've done this on ICS roms AOKP and CM9 with no issues. I'm not sure how to find a fix if you have used CWM 3 and CWM 5 unsuccessfully.
If you've used the same hboot the whole time that can't be the problem. Try reflashing recovery with ROM Manager and use the "erase recovery before flashing" option.

[Q] Botloop after restoring nandroid backup

Hi everybody!
I'll explain to you my problem: i had SkyDragon v15 custom rom and i made a nandroid backup of it. I were used to restore my stock rom with another nandroid and vice versa.
today i flashed cyanogen mod for my one x, but none of previous nandroid backups works(i still have the rom zip and all the backups on my phone). I tried even wiping dalvik and data, but without luck.
what could be the problem?
Flashed the boot.img from the particular nandroid backup you want to restore ?
And before restoring a nandroid you must make a full wipe !
