Titanium backup on g2 - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Let's say I have 3 different google accounts and I have different paid apps on each of these. If I were to go into each account and back up user apps with titanium would I be able to go into the master account and access them all there?

I assume you could since Titanium will back up the apk's with the corresponding data, I'm not sure if the market will recognize them and allow you to update though

I just delete them, if you mess up, you can always ODIN restore your phone or just reflash the ROM.

True, or just save a copy in Dropbox folder or something

I deleted them too.
I also deleted the sprint tv, ID, sprint zone. I also deleted the ap mobile app since I don't use it. I also back them up on my dropbox and my external sd card. I used titanium backup.

Widgit - titanium backup pro

Hi,
Which widgit backs up just the apps I've installed with their data? (such as game progress)
Backup all new versions seems to just backup the app & not with its data.
All user apps with data seems to backup things I don't want, such as dialer, fonts, and everything else.
I just want a widgit that does a backup of the apps I've installed with its saved data.
if you mean the extra data you download for the game i dont think that can be backed up by titanium unless you copy the folder from memory card and later put back there after restoring app from titanium
No, i mean the data as in 'saved games'
Which widgit does a backup of only the apps I've installed plus my game/app progress?

A combination of "back up all user apps + system data"; to clarify this bu's YOUR installed apps + their data not "system data" proper. Add to this a "filter by label". You'll have to set up labels in Ti BU if you haven't already, and add new apps to the appropriate label group. So theoretically you could have a combination of system and user apps backed up by filtering by label if you choose the correct b/u option.
I b/u manually, so I can't confirm your thought that the data isn't being backed up.
The one your mentioned seems to backup everything,
Bluetooth pairing , calender, calculator, accuweather etc
I wouldn't class these as 'user apps' as i didn't install them.
Pain. Lol

Setting up labels might work. I'll play around with it today and see how it works. Might make a not so manual guy outta me.

Just replicated what you noticed; it backed up data for apps that I didn't install from market, and that aren't classed as a user app, etc...
Applied a label that I already had made (user apps, the ones that I installed and chose to be labelled as such), it backed up only these apps. You could break it down by label further, Games, etc... It just requires you to not forget to assign an app to a label.
So, when installing a new app / game, I'd need to add this to the label?

Best Backup App for Epic Touch?

Im using Titanium right now but wanted to know if there were any others out there that did the same that are worth checking out. I want to be able to backup my apps and the apps data and be able to restore them like Titanium.
Titanium is good but I find too many errors in the backups that it makes. I want to be able to restore apps with their data.
Any suggestions?

Rom toolbox pro. It's also got root explorer, icon changer, rebooter option, app manager, and a build.prop editor. It's got nearly everything you would need.
Ill try both. Thanks for the suggestions.

The problem with titanium back up is that its"too good". It backs up the data as you currently have it much like a nandroid back up. That's great if you don't switch ROMS, cause if you accidentally delete an app then you can restore it. A lot of new ROMS don't tolerate any data at all though so it kind of renders titanium back up use less. If you do use it you will get errors because of the data it restores. Your apps need a clean install when switching ROMS. I suggest. AppBackup off the market. Its free and makes a full copy of all your apps by pulling the apk from the system and saving it as a file on your external sd. You have to re install the apps but it leaves the data alone. Unfortunately you can't save your high score onpc angry birds while switching ROMS. At least ICS ROMS.

Titanium Backup has the option to restore app and data, app only, or data only so this shouldn't be an issue. I have ran AOKP since build 32, and have never had an issue restoring user app plus data from one build to the next. I can't speak to different Roms though.
My Backup Pro.
Been using it for Months.
Excellent Backup/Restore app.
look i have used them all and by far the best for the buck is rom toolbox pro it has it all with ultimate backup built in.it will automatically backup new app if u want it to so that way if u forget before switching roms ur still good to go plus all the bonus the toolbox has makes it in my opinion the best app on the market
Astro file manager does a good job. That is what I use, it backs it up and installs your apps.

My personal favorite is "APK Batch Installer Tool" hands down! It allows for multiple back-ups to your PC, saving space on your device. Save just the APK's or APK's with data. One of the things I like best is creating folders on my PC, indicating the ROM and version. So its a no brainer if i want to restore a favorite ROM with data I simply select the appropriate folder. A hidden feature is the ability right click and choose back-up/restore all. These functions can be performed wirelessly or by usb cable. Also you can "fix permissions". With a short learning curve, frequent updates, solid performance, its become my must have app. Don't forget to show the dev some love.
The problem with titanium is that i have to use classic installer and its a pain when u got 60 apps backed up. But I still think its the best backup app out there. As for the guy saying that its incompatible when switching roms there a workaround. All u have to do is uninstall and reinstall the troubled app then restore data separately. I ran into that problem from blue kuban 1034 to 1035.

Also titanium has more options than romtoolbox btw. Not trashing on romtoolbox its still the best utility knife but just the backup functions and options comparison I have to say titanium hands down.

What's the first thing you do after flashing a ROM?

I personally delete all the unnecessary apks and leave only the barebones.
I flash gapps
No but seriously, I usually install some sort of sound enhancer followed by an entire day of tweaking and customizing to my heart's content.

Next question?
I let all of my apps download from the play store then use GO Backup to restore sms and app data.
Cross my fingers and hope it boots

Expand? What do you tweak..? ROM?
I have CM10 but have never changed anything about it besides the kernel.
Restore my play store apps, restore NOVA backup, make my desired changes in ROM control, and install/tweak my kernel.
remove bloatware and apps i dont use
Play xbox for 15 minutes while phone reboots, restore my apex settings and desktop, restore my apps with titanium backup, restore contacts, and then restore my texts. Lastly, enjoy the new, smooth rom.
I check all cracks and scratches after in frustration that I can't install Rom correctly was throwing my phone around.
Like all above . Restore my data and apps

I set up my google account for my contacts and calendar. I use Titanium Backup to uninstall and freeze unneeded apps and to restore my apps and data. Restore SMS. After that I set my screens to my liking and enjoy my new ROM.

Titanium backup and downloading any missing apps from google play> my apps>all ( If I d/l an app, dont like it and uninstall it it still appears under "my apps>all" which is a bit inconvenient since i wont use it or need it. BUT these can be deleted manually so I keep this neat by only having the apps I use here. Makes the restore/update process MUCH easier.)
I also synch google account for contacts/calendar
Once it is all to my liking I performa a FULL clockwork backup. This way the ROM is nice and clean and set up when it is time to restore at a later point.

What is everyone using to get your apps and data on the new phone?

I've tried Google's app syncing, Helium, and MyBackup and none of them seem to transfer my app data! I have apps where I absolutely must have the data from my old phone but I can't seem to get anything to work. What is everyone else using?
Edit: I don't have root

Same problem trying to use HTC's Transfer App. Also, the HTC Sync Manager does not recognize the phone when connected to my desktop.
Spent a long time on the phone with an HTC CSR yesterday before I got cut off, but no success.
---------- Post added at 09:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:26 AM ----------
Just got off the phone with another HTC CSR on these two issues: 1.) HTC Transfer App doesn't work and 2.) HTC Sync Manager software doesn't recognize the 10.
He had no clue and said he would escalate the problems. He said I should hear back in 24-48 hrs.
The HTC Sync Manager doesn't handle apps anyway. I didn't have a problem syncing contacts, messages, etc. It's the apps that are giving my trouble.
U can use modded moto migrate app or just TB the legend of backing apps with data using this ull not need to download apps and register/verify apps detail again just transfer data from old phone
And using TBP u apps also get installed automatically

Nope. I'm holding off on root at least until I get the camera update via OTA.
If you ever used HTC Backup/Restore AND if you have a backup from not too long ago, you can use that to accellerate the start-up process. I restored an M9 backup from February on my new 10 and it did make for faster setup.
Have you ever used adb backup/restore?
