hey admins
i have nice suggest to the forum design
maybe u guys can add bookmark option to forum
and able us to bookmark few topics and see all the new posts at once
without having to look each one by one
thx u guys
edit:
another suggestion
that is to add top topics that recently active in sub-fourm
aka hd2 android /wp7 and else so we could access them fast
I second that.
vBulletin is considered one of the best forum softwares, it should support user bookmarks.
Someone needs to point this thread do the admins, otherwise there is very little chance that an admin will read this in such a huge forum!

You can do bookmarks already
Thread subscriptions under "thread tools", and then go to "UserCP".
You can subscribe to forums and threads.
Unless I am missing out something, thread subscription will enable mail notifications. So it is not currently possible to add a thread to the list without receiving mail notifications. This is OK in most cases, but can sometimes be annoying.

No, you can disable the email notification either thread by thread (go into the List Subscriptions and select "No email notification" for the threads you want) or for all threads (go into Edit Options and select "No email notification" in Default Thread Subscription Mode).

Good! You are getting a "thanks".

Is there a function that allows me to view all posts by me? Because there's so much activity on this site, I often find it difficult to check whether questions I raised have been answered or not.
Hi Stephen,
You have a few options; the first is to look at your public profile statistics:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=2221185
Another option is to subscribe to the thread and have it notify you via email. This option will display the thread in your User CP and send you an email - I typically skip the email notification.
HTH,
Just click your 'name' on any of your posts, then click 'find all posts by'!
Thanks!
Cool, glad it worked for you.
How can you see if someone has answer ur thread? Or just comment a thread that u have comment?
Great!

There are a few different ways to do this;
1
Go to your profile (click your name top right corner) and then click statistics and view your posts. Click the ones you want to check to take you to the thread.
2
If you need quick alerts to notify you of updates in a thread then you can subscribe to specific threads and get email notifications. To do this click the "Thread Tools" button at the top of a thread and choose subscribe to thread.
NB. You can change some options about the way you are notified about thread updates in USER CP. You must have a valid email address stored in our system for this to work. You can update your email address in USER CP.
3
You can also simply bookmark specific threads in your browser.

Hi,
It will be helpful if a tab is add when we open the account to view the post/Thread and activities we done so we can browse it so fast and easy, otherwise whats the use of our personal account
Cheers
Aji
You can easily view all your posts and threads in your profile.
Click your username up the top right of the forum. Then go to the Statistics tab. Here you can see all your posts and all your threads
Or if you click on User CP up the top of the forum, this shows you all the threads you are subscribed to

You have to enable subscription by default in "Options" or on a thread by Thread basis.
These will then show in the User CP.

Also if the mods don't mind, i would like to chip in. the use of having a personal account on XDA is to combat spam, therefore more valuable post are available to view, otherwise there would have been a lot of spam
I'm not a forum noob by any stretch but all others I've been on over the years have some way to display all the threads I posted in, and mark them bold if they have an update I haven't seen yet.
I have yet to find this on xda and it's getting old, even after only a few days, to go from forum to forum and check for updates to any threads I contributed to. What am I missing?
ETA: I'm looking for something like "display all subscribed topics" in a shortcut form somewhere. I really don't want to have to do this through advanced searches. It kills the entire intent of getting a quick overview of updates.
I found the issue. Apparently contributing to a thread doesn't add that thread to your subscribed threads list. This is a (pita, very unfortunate) manual step you have to do per thread if you want to keep up with the thread. I'm very surprised it has to be this way, but so be it.
If anyone knows of a way to change this on a per-user level please let me know.

Change your settings to auto-subscribe to every thread you post in. That way if you post in one that you don't want to track you can just choose to unsubscribe from it.
Go to your User Control Panel. Under 'Settings & Options' select 'Edit Options'. Then look for the "Default Thread Subscription Mode" setting - I recommend you set it to "No email notification"

Right. I noticed the app has it but it's harder to do in the forum lol
I got it folks. Thanks. The only thing I would wish for is a one-click shortcut to my subscribed threads. But I have bookmarks for that

If you want to view your subscribed threads and forums using the app then click the "Favorites" tab and you'll be able to view them.
Apologies if I misunderstood your problem.

EDIT - For some reason I wasn't subscribed to my thread. I'll reply right away

If you want to see all of your participated threads in the browser view, go to the Advanced search, enter your username, make sure "Search All Open Forums" is selected under Search in Forums, leave everything else alone. Your results are displayed as threads in chronological order of last reply to that thread. The last reply of any member, not just you.
Please redirect if a thread already exists on this question. Did a quick search of the About XDA subforum, and didn't notice anything that directly addressed this question.
So I know that on the main User CP page http://forum.xda-developers.com/usercp.php it shows "New Subscribed Threads", a listing of subscribed threads with new posts.
And of course, you can also view these on the Subscribed Threads folder listing, too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription&folderid=all
Could this be added to the "notifications" dropdown at the topright of the screen? As in, the notification dropdown beside the logout button on the header. Show the # of new subscribed threads there, and link to the subscribed threads folder when clicked.
I often miss posts in my subscribed threads because it's not one of the things you get notified on in the notifications dropdown. I also don't want to have my inbox spammed, so I disabled all email notifications for subscribed forums.
@CDB-Man,
If you post your recommendations in this thread dedicated to the subject, then more often than not, your ideas will be seen by the mods and admins, considered, and then possibly implemented the way you would like.

Ah, thanks for pointing that out. I generally stick to my own subforum so don;t know the way around the other places as much. I'll copy over my post to there.
