No matter what Rom I've flashed the problem still persists, when I connect to WiFi its fine the connection works but when I turn WiFi on it takes 4ever and a year to get mobile data connected. I've never had this problem before with and radio update or anything then other times 3g will just plain old not work any help is much appreciated.

I've had my incredible for a couple months now but recently my phone wouldn't connect to my home wifi and I can't figure out why. All my other devices connect fine but my phone won't. I tried restarting my phone and I also reset my router but neither worked. any input would be appreciated
Try forgetting the network (on the phone) and set it up again. Absent that, are you using a different kernel than when it worked issue free? Any new or additional devices on the network? Assuming network is password protected. What OS controls the pc in the network, and did that get a recent update?

I tried forgetting the network and it works on my kernel, lou's #9. there are no new devices and my desktop running Windows XP and my laptop running Windows 7 both are on the network but i dont think either had an update. When i came home today it connected tho, but this has happened before it always disconnects at some random time and won't reconnect again so idk
I have to toggle airplane mode on mine occasionally to reconnect, widespread thing.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue? My phone seems to get confused about if it should be connected through wifi or 3g/4g for data. For example, if I am at home and connected to my wifi, then get in the car and leave without disabling wifi, the phone acts as if it does not recognize the 3g/4g connection at all. It will just tell me I have no network connection since I am out of range of wifi. Same happens when I am connected with 3g/4g and I walk/drive by a wifi area and I do not join the network. The open app that is using data will then loose its connection and tell me there is no network connection. Simply disabling my wifi and restarting the app does not work. I often have to reboot the phone or turn off my mobile data signal and then enable it to establish a connection.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have this problem also, I will have something like streaming music playing then when I am out of range of wifi it dose not go to 3g on verizon. If I don't have any thing using wifi and disable it before going out of range and starting a stream no problem, but when it happens I switch to airplane mode then back and it works fine.
Your not the only one who has this problem.

Same here. Not sure what's causing it. I have to go into airplane mode, which itself seems to take ages, and then turn off airplane mode to establish 3g connection.
I thought it may be a mess up from aokp, and after a clean wipe and flash it seemed fine, but then started showing the same behavior , failing to comnect to 3g after exiting wifi zone.
Does anyone have an answer for this problem? Is it a hardware glitch or software or app caused problem?
Any help would be dearly appreciated too!

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear it doesn't seem like a hardware problem, though I have yo admit I didn't see it on the aokp wikis ... Would you know if it's a problem for an unknown minority our a more general one?
So, I guess, then stock room should be fine? I was only on stock for a few days before flashing aokp. Going back would be a nuisance, but if I can have armless transition from wifi to 3g, then I guest I should -( ...
Any talk on when it may be solved in the aosp community?

Me toooooooo
Some brief history:
Rooted on stock ROM from factory everything working fine.
I was prompted for 4.2.1 OTA update, I accepted phone restarted with no errors.
I cannot get 3G or 4G around my house the signal is full and and i see the little up/down arrow as if some activity is happening.
Any app that requires data Facebook/Netflix/Speedtest tells me network is unavailable. I can still make and receive call and txt
Data does work once I leave my area and phone connects to a different tower I imagine.
I have spoken to tmobile support and a ticket was placed to check the status of the tower and they are reporting "no outage" .
Things I have tried for troubleshooting so far:
1. reset and re-enter apn details
2. tested my sim card in a CM7 rooted HTC Nexus same issue
3. Tried my sim in a stock tmobile blackberry curve , data worked (3G limited device)
4. My phone gets data when i force 2G network only
I would hate to flashback as I have everything setup perfectly and even my tether is working but any help is appreciated.
Try using a different radio

Wouldnt the 4.2.1 OTA push out a new radio if needed? I'm not using a custom ROM all stock since day1 except for root w/gnex toolkit. Also the phone gets great 4G speeds when not in that problem area (that happens to be my house)
OP, have you found out what your problem was as I'm having the same problem with my phone

Hello all,
I am not sure if this is because of the 4.3 update. My phone seems to lose connection fast as soon as I restart the device. Here is what exactly happens.
I reboot the device,
I see 4G Lte and 2-3 bars show up, but soon after, I lose connection completely and there is a stop sign for my bars.
What is going on here.
Wifi connection is fine, but when I connect to wifi I see grey for the bars in the notification.
I'm having the same issue in Nashville. Just updated, and constantly losing service, from lte to 4g

Have you flashed Ktoonz kernel yet?
It should fix the issue you are having.
If not, odin flash the MK2 modem.bin image.
Good luck, happy thanksgiving!
Figured it out. It was just wifi calling should be set to wifi if available.
Mine gets stuck in lte, and finally just times out on the webz, says no data connection.

Yes same happened to me until I flashed 4.3 with odin. I couldn't even put wifi on. But now it works.
