LockBot Pro - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am running Cyanogen 6.1 and trying to use LockBot Pro but for some reason it keeps popping up my cyanogen unlock screen, i unlock then i unlock my lockbot screen. does anyone know how i can fix this where i just have the lockbot?

Occasionally I have to pull up lockbot, go into setting and uncheck and recheck the enable lockbot check box to make it system default again. I usually have to do this after I've plugged my phone into the computer. A little bug but it seems to work.

Awesome, thanks. I have another problem now too though. I get a chunk of lag when my screen is off 10+ minutes when moving the slider to get to my desktop. I think it may be due to my kernel which uses the smartass governor to scale down the screen off mhz real low and when turned back on the cpu trying to adjust to run the app (lockbot)

Why always today screen after suspend mode?

Hi folks,
a quick question: since I am using WM6 my tytn always displays the today screen after comming from the suspend mode or blanc screen. This was definitly not the behaviour it did with WM5. An example:
When I'm listening to music with the built in Windows Media Player I like to turn off the screen (using the built in blanc screen function) to save battery. When I switch on the device again to change music or something the device always displays the today sceeen instead of the media player application and I have to switch back to the media player window manually. That drives me crazy as it is not the way it behaved using WM5.
Is there any possibility to change this behaviour in the way, that WM6 shows the last used application instead of the today screen when resuming from suspend mode or blanc screen?
Thank you!
Check you Today settings.
Go to Start>Settings>Today>Items tab and investigate the "Today Timeout" setting.

I checked this already. The described problem is not related to the Today timeout setting. It appears every time, after a few seconds blanc screen anyway. Try it, you'll see.
i have also experianced this, is really annoying, anyone have any ideas how to resolve it...?

Hi!
The best prgm I used for this reason is PPcsoft psShutXP u can have it on tray and u gona have 3 alt. Light Off Shut Down and Soft Reset strike on Light Off it works fine
I like this "feature". Problem I have is if I leave outlook open, I don't get a LED notification of new mail. At some point I had a ROM installed that always went back to the today screen and seem to resolve my issue. Is this something that can be changed in the registry?
Cal
nobody knows anything about that? Can't believe that there are not more people out there, who suffer from this issue

Hi!
I think if u try the program I mentioned at #5 u gona like it. Here is the link

same problem here...
BatteryStatus
I think this might be related to BateryStatus Today Plugin.
There is a check box under "Tools" - "Show Today Screen on WakeUp". If you uncheck this it stops behaving in this way.

Thanks for sharing the link but I think, this will not solve the problem for me: as far as I can see you have to go to the today screen anyway to reach the buttons this tool provides. So I haven't got anything....
Great stuff! Batterystatus really solved the problem...just set the tool to not show today screen and it works. Thanks for the hint!
(though I really don't understand that MS doesn't support this feature?!)
Hi, its not that MS doesn't support it, its that its enabled on some roms, and others not, mine always returns to whatever app it was on, after suspend, If you wanted to help figure out the cause, I suggest you install sktracker, and do a before and after the battery status install, and see what key that option in battery status is changing, I don't much care for battery status myself.
Start > Settings > Today > Items Tab
UNCHECK the Today Timeout
Today Timeout means that if the device is left unchecked for say, the Default "4 Hours" than after 4 hours, no matter what program window was running, it defaults back to the today screen when the device is reawakened
pssibly a bug in your OS or some program you are running makes it so every time you turn it back on
but uncheck that and maybe youll have some luck??
i had a similar problem with my iPaq hx4700 where if i was at the today screen, it would keep flickering, refreshing it every 1 second
i disabled the today timeout, and viola, its worked fine since
I have this issue too.

Unrelated. I have BS installed and that option is NOT checked, yet it still does it.
This is very annoying, I like mine to sleep after 2 mins (to save power and lock the keyboard). then back to the today screen and have to switch to what I was doing..
Related to the Lock setting?
I have the same problem, and I think it is related to the lock settings. When I enable a simple PIN, my phone always returns to the Today screen after leaving suspend, regardless of the settings in the Today aplet.
If I disable the simple pin in the Lock settings applet, the pone returns to the last used application (unless the today timeout has been exceeded, as one would expect).
Hopefully that will help someone discover a fix. This problem did not occur in WM 5.

Hey, you are absolutely right. The problem won't be fixed by Batterystatus. I just mad a hardreset and didn't set a password, so I thought batterystatus fixed it.
It is a bug with the built in password function. So, is there anybody out there, who is able to fix that?
As said before, the Today showing after power-on the device is "another" problem caused by the WM6 Password Lock System. It's necessary to disable the password that locks the device to fix it.
And it's not the only problem. Be warned, don't try this at home!!!; if you got a password active and then you change the Owner Name without changing the password, you will find after the next reboot that your machine is unreachable because the password isn't recognized at all.
Incredible but true!

G2 forgets to lock itself..... HELP!

Hey fellas, to lock my phone I use the pattern lock, but since yesterday every time I lock the phone with power button or sleeps itself after 2 minutes, it doesn't show me the 'draw pattern screen', just the regular 'slide to unlock'.
So, I go and set the pattern up again, and lock it, it shows the 'draw pattern screen' and only shows once, after I lock the phone again, it won't appear anymore.
I'm using CM6.1.1, obviously rooted phone.
Any help or suggestions? Moderators feel free to move this post to cyanogen's thread if needed. Don't know if this might be a problem of CM itself.
Did you enable any of the quick unlock settings in Cyanogenmod settings? I bet my breakfast (which I already ate, sorry) that its because you need to review those CM settings. In User Input or something or other.
Uncheck all of those settings (that enable quick unlock)
(besides those pattern locks are easily hacked -- with the right light and the right amount of grease from your finger anyone can see your "path to unlock" - Im just sayin!)
Sorry man, that quick unlock feature is definetly not checked, it's under "settings/cyanogenmod settings/input settings", quick unlock not checked.
U owe me a pancake lol.
I dont remember getting creative with locking and unlocking settings, the weirdest thing I did was to install a few themes to the phone. Imma try putting everything to default, and start from there.
I've experienced some unlock and lock issues with cm6 aswell. It seemed as if there are settings that conflict with eachother. What happened to me was I changed it to rotory unlock with lock set to immediately engage on screen off. After changing that it wouldn't lock but the screen would turn off. I had to set it to 1 second and then reboot then it would lock just fine.

What surprises me is that it stopped working for some reason, because I've been using cm6.1.1 for a couple of weeks and worked perfectly..

don't remember where the setting is but it sounds like the time-out setting is not proper, the phone does not lock right away if it is sitting on the table and goes to sleep on it's own but you can set it to do that, i had mine set to 30 seconds so that if the screen turned off while i was waiting for something to download or happen i didn't have to unlock with my pin each time. look through the settings (probably security or cm settings) for the proper tweak, i would give better instructions but i'm currently on miui ROM

Yeah, these settings are found under CM Settings->User Interface (down at the bottom). I don't think these will be the cause though, since the OP said he didn't really mess with any of the settings. Also, I don't think the settings would cause the "Slide to Unlock" screen to appear (the phone would simply turn the screen back on to whatever was last on, no pattern unlock, no lock screen).
Have you installed any new widgets or lockscreen apps recently? Out of curiosity, have you tried any of the other lock types just to see if they do the same thing (like PIN or password).

Galaxy S3 i747m HOMESCREEN BUG..

I realized that the homescreen has some bugs especially if you disable the lock screen from settings..
It happened a few time in the past few days..
When I click the home button, the device is on, and I do not need to unlock it since the lockscreen is disabled.
Sometimes, after turning the phone screen on, all my homescreen widgets and the bottom shortcut bar(phone, contact, message, menu) would start to flashing like crazy...
The phone is still responsive, e.g. opening menus, change settings, top menu bar still slides down and up fine, everything is fine operationally except for the flashing widgets and bottom shortcuts..
I turned the screen off and back on, same flashing is present..
I have to power off the phone or restart the phone and it will return back to normal..
I believe this is definitely a software bug... Anyone familiar with this bug?
Are you running stock or are you rooted with a custom recovery?

UPDATE:
Also I found out exactly what is triggering this issue..
It has to do with the Developers Options under the Do Not Keep Activities and Background Process Limit..
I am experiencing this issue only when I tick Do Not Keep Activities, and set the Background Process Limit to No Background Process...
Also, today another issue showed up with the same 2 settings ticked Do Not Keep Activities, and set the Background Process Limit to No Background Process.
Basically what it happened is that when I turn on my phone, and open windows such as messages and settings, the phone would automatically attempt to close it down after 2-3 seconds... Also due this time, I received a message, my message tone changed back to the bird chirp default message tone rather than the Pure Bell message tone I setup previously.. When I manage to open the sound settings, I took a quick look and it was still set to Pure Bell, and after a second or so, the phone closed the entire settings window down...
I just press hole the power and click on Restart...
Now the phone reboots, and the phone is back to normal...
When I went back to sound settings, all my own settings are still there
BUT
When I went to the Developer Options, the setting for Do Not Keep Activities, and Background Process Limit where back to the default values.. (Do Not Keep Activities is not UNTICKED, and Background Process Limit is set to Standard Limit automatically by my phone after the reboot.)
I thought it was weird how the phone changed my settings after reboot, and the OS acts weird before I rebooted...
After using it through out today with the default settings for Do Not Keep Activities, and the Background Process Limit, my phone is acting fine.....
Pretty sure this is a SW bug, it is not a HW problem..
I think it did exactly what it should do with those developer options enabled. That was a very aggressive setting use used and does not represent normal operation of the software.

So this is a known issue?
Yes, pretty much Developer Options are pretty unstable...
The only setting I kept for are Mock Location (for those apps that use GPS without my permission) and the Animation options to 0.5x so the animation is faster.
Turning the Mock Location and Changing Animation Settings do not seem to affect the stability of the Stock ROM
Why on earth would anyone with a phone this powerful want to use those two options anyways!? I would say yes u have those problems with those options on... you have plenty of resources so don't do that to your phone and yes those are "developer options" and typically only temporary testing scenarios for "developers" just leave at default and be happy with much better working phone!

[Q] Note 2 Automatically bypass lock screen

Hey guys, recently (today 1/28) i noticed my galaxy note 2 automatically bypasses the lock screen whenever the screen wakes up (so no ripple effects, and i have no lock or pin or pattern set, so just a swipe would work). So I tried setting up a pattern lock, and similar thing happens. The phone would wake up, go to home screen for a split second, then returns back to the lock screen with the pattern lock.
I was wondering, does anyone know whats wrong with this?
Extra information: I used to have GO launcher on it with their custom lock screen. However, I uninstalled everything already, so that shouldn't be a problem.

it's Go Locker... it's not the best lock screen replacement... you should turn off the go locker lock screen and turn on the stock one. Clear defaults on Go Locker and set it to just Go Launcher and enable the original lockscreen after disabling Go Locker

but I have already cleared w/e data that Go Locker has and then uninstalled it. So i doubt that Go locker is causing my lock screen bypassing problem, unless it was some sort of glitch from when i had it (i used it for 2 days)

Problem is completely solved now. Apparently, it is the result of a bug/glitch in a chinese music streaming app that I got from Google play. Also, thanks to everyone that replied to this.

I had the same problem, I had the "Lock instantly with power key" unchecked, however the phone still locks it right after I push the power key no matter how long I set the lock time. Then I found out that whenever I have the Kugou Music running, it does that. So as long as you quit the program when not listening music, you are fine.
And there's actually one setting on Kugou Music that override the lock screen.

Screen Lock Key Pad Auto Show

Hi all,
I've got a really annoying feature on my screen lock where my keypad will auto-show and if I enter my PIN I'll be launched direct into the app at the time. I hate this feature and want to disable it, but I'm not sure which setting controls this. Did I say I absolutely hate this feature and it drives me nuts hence why I'm posting here.
Its not 100% clear what you mean.
Your lock screen activates and when you unlock it via pin you get put back into the app that was running before screen lock activated, when you'd prefer it to go back to the home screen?.
That is normal behaviour. There is no way to change it without causing an even bigger nuisance, which would be to kill all apps upon leaving them, which will make your phone run slow.
I could recommend an app by htc called "boost+" which can kill apps automatically if you apply the background optimizers to "always off" which will attempt to kill apps when you leave them. This is less intrusive than using developer settings to kill all apps. It may work, it may not.
Hi, thanks for replying.
Yeah sorry it is a little difficult to articulate this behavior.
So when I want to go back into my phone from the screen off / sleep state, I hit the power button to turn the screen on and wake the device up. When I do this the screen lock keypad opens and if I enter my pin I'll be taken into an application. Mind you this doesn't happen all the time. It generally happens when I've received a notification e.g. hangouts message, an sms, missed call notification, email and so on. I'm sure this behavior wasn't happening before. I can't remember if I changed a setting, or there's been an update to the lock screen from HTC. Either way I want to turn this feature off, I don't want the phone controlling me, I want to control the phone.
