Cannot update ROM - (Status 7)

Hey,
I've got a HTC Desire from O2 UK and it's got O2 splash screen when it loads, but I believe it's unlocked. Here are the following details it's on:
Firmware Version - 2.1-update1
Baseband Version - 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2
Kernal Version - 2.6.29-c8d11160 htc-kernal and18-2 #1
Build Number - 1.20.207.3 CL171460 release-keys
Software Number - 1.20.207.3
Browser Version - Webkit 3.1
Boot Loader - 0.80
Earlier on today, I ran “Unrevoked3" on Linux, which "rooted" my phone. It added an extra option called "Superuser Permissions", but the O2 branding when phone is turned on remains, and the numbers above stayed the same.
Now I tried to load a new ROM, but they all bring up the errors below. I have tried loads of different ones. I have plenty of free space on my SD card and have renamed some to update.zip, but still no luck.
I've also tried these:
LithiumMod1.0.12-Alternate_Dark.zip
DeFroST_2.7.zip
So am I missing a step or just not finding the right ROMs?
One seemed like it went through, but straight after an animation of a cross played on the screen, with different colours, and this wouldn't go away even after a restart.
Just wondered if anybody could help?
Thanks

Hi,
I have the same problem with my htc Desire. Because i use unrevoked to root my phone.
The OTA update can be used only with the orginal restauration tool not the one installed by the unrevoked3.
You can always install any other costom froyo rom or downgrade to the original htc restaoration tool.
I'm still looking for a non modified costum rom that i can use.

Are you rooted? If so, you shouldn't be taking an update.
Either way, you can find it in any stock rom in the Dev section, however you will need to be rooted to push it to the system folder, which again, if you are rooted you shouldnt be taking an update.
Oh? I am rooted. I didn't know about not accepting updates. What do I do when new software updates come out? Are there rooted versions of them?

Yes there are rooted versions out actually multiple rooted versions of the 4.67 update just head over to the development section and look for them or use the search feature

Update 1.28.401.2 - cant mount INTERNALSDCARD

Can´t Install OTA Update: assert failed: check_cid

Solution: flash back to Stock Recovery

Can't install zips in recovery

I've got a nasty problem on my Sprint Gnex. Every time I boot into recovery and tell it to flash a .zip file, it returns this:
Code:
-- Installing (whatever).zip
Finding update Package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "toroplus" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "toroplus"
E:Error in (whatever).zip
I have this problem in CWM and CWM Touch as flashed by ROM Manager. I've tried to edit my build.prop file to say either toroplus or torospr, but neither setting works. It doesn't matter what zip I use, they all die here.
I can back up and restore using nandroid, so what's broken and how do I fix it?
Try flashing the toroplus CWM image via fastboot: http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.3.1-toroplus.img
That did it! Thanks!

Error while updating to Android 6.0

Dear all,
My HTC One M8S from T-Mobile gives an error when trying to update to Android 6.0. The phone is currently at version 5.0.2, and completely stock.
I am trying to install the OTA update, but get the following error:
--
system partition has unexpected contents
E:Error in @/cache/recovery/block.map
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
--
I wiped data and cache, and did a factory reset.
Moreover, in accordance to HTC's suggestion I removed the data for Configupdater and Google Services Framework.
This does not resolve the issue.
I have put the OTA downloaded zip, named OTA_M8_QL_UL_L50_SENSE60_TMO_NL_1.21.114.1-1.10.114.11_release_472459l24j5h7g40lc8ekp.zip, on an sd card and tried to apply from sd card, but I get the following error:
E: Find no match PARTITION: for package path /sdcard/ptt.zip
E: unknown volume for path [ ]
E: Can't mount
E: failed to open last_install: No such file or directory
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E: failed to map file
I have found some info with regard to using fastboot or adb to apply the update, but before potentially bricking my phone I wanted to ask whether there isn't anything I am missing here.
Since everything is completely stock, I was hoping there would be a trivial solution I am overlooking.
Any help is much appreciated.
FYI, the OTA you've posted is Lollipop.
