Help please!!! - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i want to start by saying i know this isnt the right forum, but does anyone know how to help me unbrick a samsung moment?
EDIT: Also this is my wifes phone and she is going to kill me...if anyone can help please do!

It really depends on how you bricked it. Some accidents can be undone. Others can't.
Is it under warranty? Worst case senario, take it back to your provider, claim you were just installing the update and it went black!

Figured it out with odin

[Q] Intentional Brick?

I'm asking on behalf of a friend of mine who doesnt actually have a computer so he cant post here himself to ask. I'm a vibrant/N1/G1 user myself, so i'm familiar with the aspects here: he has a slide, has the split-screen/ribbon problem on opening/closing the keyboard. He managed to get a warranty replacement from TMO, but he's super paranoid about having to pay the damages fee because he has CM loaded on it instead of the stock firmware.
Bottom line, he wants to brick it just to be sure before he sends it back (he already has the replacement phone). What is the simplest way (that I could explain to him over the phone) to hard brick the phone?
Quick and dirty is all I really need to help him get the job done, all help much appreciated!
If he can brick it, then he can flash the factory ROM that is available to bring it back to unrooted stated. Why not just do that?
-sigh- I guess he can just try to follow the S-OFF instructions to where it says not 2 power off, take out battery- disconnect phone... do the oppsite of what it says not to do? Just saying though... why not just do what Fermunky said?

Problem is that he lives in virginia and I live in colorado. I rooted and customized his phone when I was out there visiting because he's completely inept at this kind of stuff, so I was just looking for a simpler solution than to try and walk him through a reflash over the phone. Plus, apparently what he told the TMO reps was that he got an OTA update and it bricked him, which is the only way (he said) that they'd do a warranty exchange.
Well, I guess your short answer is No, there is no "quick" way. Whether you try to brick it or not, either way will require some attempt at flashing "something", but to just do it in a completely wrong way. Maybe by connecting to a PC and using clever ADB/Shell commands could also do it, but not entirely sure.
Couldn't you flash the radio for say, a Droid X or any CDMA radio?
I know you can brick CDMA phones by flashing GSM radios.
And yay Colorado ;D
I'm going to have to close this as it's discussing warranty fraud.

[Q] Help Me Get Gingerbread On My Atrix, PLEASE

Ok, so let me start off by saying that I am a NOOB and I apologize for that. I have a Motorola Atrix 4G on the Bell network in Canada. A while back I got the bright idea to try rooting and installing custom rom but unfortunately bricked my phone. Since then, I've got working again by flashing a different SBF onto it. I do realize that there is no way for me to get OTA updates now and the Gingerbread release just happened in Canada. Is there any other way for me to get gingerbread on my phone? All help is appreciated, thanks.
Oh ya and I've tried searching what seems like the entire internet to find something that can help me out. Just in case someone thinks I haven't been doing my part. ;-)

i need to make my phone back to stock.

Okay, Hello everyone i accidentally dropped my phone the other day getting out of my truck and cracked the screen i am paying for a warranty and i know the warranty is void when i root my phone but i'm hoping if i go back to the stock rom and unroot my phone they will not notice so i am back here to XDA to hope that u guy's can help me.
I did root my phone but with my friends help. He will not help me unroot my phone and set it to the stock rom because he does not know how, I don't know but i don't have patience for him so i will do it myself.
Tell me what information i need to provide to you guy's so u can assist me, and i will try my hardest to provide whatever is needed, if someone could help it would be greatly appreciated .

This should really go over in the S3 forums, correct location and the people over there are more likely to be able to help you. I reported the topic to a moderator and hopefully they'll get you taken care of.
what rom did you flash, because if you flashed a rom for another phone, your fear is confirmed. i have done the same thing with my last phone.
i have heard of some phones using odin, and other tricks on youtube, but usually after wiping a phone ,like you did, there is little you can do to fix it.

bought a used Lgg3 with screwed up root...

I bought a used lgg3 running 5.0.1 a few weeks ago and i cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix the root on it. I'm not a complete noob, but im not also the most experienced in rooting.
I purchased it for the sole intention of Pokemon Go (little did i know they would shut out root... -.-)
SO, my main question is...
whats the best way to go about fixing this thing without bricking it or screwing it up any further?
There was no SU, no busybox, no anything, but it is rooted, just somehow screwed up. the kid mentioned kingroot, but he said thats all he knows.
Any other information you may need, just let me know and ill get back asap!
I appreciate any help i can get

Flash the stock rom from either here on XDA or with the actual LG updater.
