hi,
i think it would be amazing to play SNES/NES/Genesis etc emulators on my HDTV using wii classic controllers. therefore, i am looking for a ROM that has both Wiimote and HDMI support. from what i've read:
- all Sense-based ROMs do not have wiimote support
- all AOSP-based ROMs do not have HDMI support
is there a solution to this?
thanks!

dude i made a similar post a month ago with no help either. I didnt kno that sense didnt support wiimotes tho thought there was an app for that ?
Based on where the more experienced AOSP devs are at the moment, your wish should be fulfilled within the next few months. 4G is the pressing feature most people want (large bounty threads in Dev section), with HDMI out as a secondary wish.
Not having 4G in my local area pushes my bias towards HDMI out as #1, but either or is a big win for this device. If only we can integrate the Wiimote to work with Gameloft and EA games, we will be in hog heaven.
Tell me about it. I wish I could play NFS Shift with the WiiMote or Hero of Sparta and even the SIMS.
I know that CM and UD have Wiimote support built into their ROM's but they haven't gotten around to figuring out HDMI I guess since it's not a priority like 4G is.
By the way you won't see the ability to use WiiMote with those games and other similar ones because I think it would be illegal to alter the code on one of those games. I'm pretty sure Nintendo wouldn't approve and vice versa. I'm pretty sure if you did the coding for yourself you could maybe get it to work but you wouldn't be able to distribute it.

i've got a modded wii that plays snes, nes, n64, genesis, gba, gbc, dos games the list goes on and on. why not just mod your wii?
sense roms do not have full hdmi support...only pushing out hdmi videos from the stock player or pictures. there is no way to currently push out the screen via hdmi.

Could someone explain to me what I need to do to get one of these to work on my evo. Do I need to be rooted? I currently am through unrevoked.
Which controller is the best one to get?
A type of wireless Wii remote?
Thanks for any and all help.
Download "Wiimote Controller" from the Market and follow the instructions.

Does it work with the Sense UI on my evo? The developers website said it doesn't work on all sense devices
Thanks again.
Also, will one of those Wii retro controllers work on this?
You need CM6
The Evo in it's stock state doesn't support any of the Wiimote apps in the market. I tried several Roms that don't use sense, and none of them would pair the Wii remote. The reason is that it is not Sense alone that causes the problem. The problem is that HTC changes the bluetooth stack when they put sense on the phone. Removing sense doesn't fix the stack.
The only rom currently out for the Evo that fixes this is Cyanogen 6 mod. He actually re-programmed the bluetooth stack. He has a release candidate which I have been using for a while now. I was even using his nightly builds and it's a very solid and stable rom. I haven't used the PSX Emulator, but I have been using Snesoid, and I love it. I got a Wii remote, and a classic controller from best buy, $60 total, and it was so worth it. With the classic emulators like Snesoid, you can actually map the keys for 2 controllers. Meaning you and a buddy can play Super Mario Kart, one using the Wii Remote, and the other using the classic controller plugged into it.
The other great thing about the CM6 rom is that Cyanogen is working on getting the HDMI out to clone everything from the phone over the HDMI port. This means that you can sit on the couch with your Wii remote and the classic controller pro, and using psx4droid you can play all the classics on the big screen.
The downside is the CM6 rom disables 4G, FM radio, and has had some issues with facebook contacts. Once you get this rom on, it should be pretty easy from there.
Thanks a lot, Bradley.
A few more questions...
It sounds like if I want to use a retro controller I have to connect a regular wii controller first and then plug the retro into the regular? Or can I connect the retro by itself without a regular controller?
Does Cyanogen have a site or blog where he can be followed? I'd like to get that Rom once he gets 4G working... and the HDMI-out; that sounds awesome. (On that note, do you know if I can flash that CM6 rom having rooted with Unrevoked? Do you know where I could find a step-by-step guide to help install it? (I'm searching the forums right now.))
What format do these things need to be in?
Awesome tutorial for .ecm roms

I'm fairly certain that the Evo doesn't have the hardware or software acceleration needed to run even Wii games, however, you could probally use the Snes or GBA emulators with it.

my fault if i wasnt clear i meant like regular snes and sega roms and stuff but there is an app on the market that lets you sync your wiimotes with your phone to use to play snes/nes/sega roms
Yes there is. Search for Wii in market and you'll find the app.
[Update]
New video now that I found the guide at Android central about how to use a PS3 controller with Shadowgun - and of course a guide
Hi everyone, thought this might interest a few others here:
Pairing is via the Sixaxis Controller app ($2 on the Market), and there is a guide on pairing here (I made one since the Sixaxis Controller's homepage guide is not very user friendly). Root is required.
Thanks dude.. now I can play flash games on it.

Thanks, might have to give it a try.
Thanks for the info dude.
But I can't think on any game that I could use a sixaxis for...
Shadowgun? Emulators?
PS3 controllers can be used with Shadowgun now too (initially they don't work via bluetooth except for movement):
Can anyone confirm the analog sticks work AS analog sticks? My only gripe with some of these controller apps (bluezime, wiimotecontroller, sixaxis controller) is they currently lack any "true analog" stick support. I certainly can't blame the developers, as they're using the framework they've been given (which in gingerbread is ONLY mapping to keyboard keys), it's still a bit of a pain and something that keeps me from using these controllers as often as I'd like. Even Mario64 requires fine analog control, not the typical "all or nothing" that occurs, even while using the analog stick, as it is converted into digital as a keypress.
If this app "Shadowgun" actually operates as analog (you move the stick a little you tiptoe, move it a lot you run) then I'd love to try it. Otherwise I believe we'll have to wait for ICS for that feature (I believe honeycomb had true analog support as well).
I know the Phonejoy one works full analog, however it took a while for the apps / emulators to be able to recognize the analog inputs (working now).
Most of these require roms that do not support MHL however, meaning if you wanted to connect to your big screen TV and play, you cant. (unless it changed recently)
Also, many only support single player (Like the phonejoy) so you can either have several people playing on your phone screen or one person playing on a big screen.
Hey guys,
I'm searching for a bluetooth or wireless gamepad for my future nexus.
Do you have any ideeas? I was almost into buying Wii Wireless Retro Controller but I can't find it anywhere so I'm looking for something else. Ohhh, this was my first option because is so COOL!
Another option could be Phonejoy's Gamepad, wich is OUT OF STOCK too. I could go for a PS3 SIXAXIS Gamepad, but I dont know if I can use it for other games like Shadowgun, Backstab, Dungeon Defenders (mostly RPG and FPS), not only with PSX Emulator.
Anyone who used a PS3 controller played games like the one above with it?
Thanks!
Just a word of warning you need to make sure your device is compatible. Even if it is, it might work with some app and not another.
There are some bluetooth controller to consider though like: Zeemote, MSI Gamepad, Wii controller (which seems to be the safe bet.)
Sometime you need to run a background 'keyboard' app to make some of these controller work, such as Bluez IME.
I have the iControlPad, but it only work with apps that support keyboard input, through the use of Bluez IME. The most fullproof way for me is still wired controller.
I'm dealing with the issue right now.
I use sixaxis for my PS3 controller but it seems there is lack of supported games.
I think trying FPse for it.
I've also Logitech gamepad (F710) and like you I'd love to see supported games beside FPse.

Give me a few days and this should become a reality with the Sixaxis controller
Honeycomb and ICS have native support for gamepads so they should work throughout the OS and games.
I have a PS3 controller on my Transformer and I also have the Wii Retro controller. The Retro controller sucks horribly compared to the PS3 controller. Plus they all connect via Bluetooth so any controller will act the same unless it comes with a specific binding app.
I don't have a Nexus but I think the PS3 controller is the way to go. I picked up a new white one at Gamestop for $29.
Datel makes the Retro wireless controller.
G2x - 2.3.7 CM7
Transformer - 3.2 Revolver OC/UV
I've done it.
Sixaxis with PS3 controller plus MHL to see it on my LCD TV.
Works great! But only in emulators like FPse (the emulator I've test).
I'll wait to the OTG cable and see if I can play with the gamepad on any game (which is not related to FPse).
do i need ROOT for all of this that you guys are talking about? i want to use the original ps3 controller to play games in my galaxy nexus but i totally don't want to root, please help, i don't care if i have to use cable or Bluetooth.
Not sure if this would work on phones, http://steelseries.com/us/products/other/steelseries-ion-wireless-controller
it does mentions tablets. it's coming soon.
Okay I am looking for some good emulators. Suggestions would be most welcome. My plan is take the S3 and then load on a slim ROM and some emulators so as to hook it up to my TV and play emulators on my TV. However looking though the emulators there are just so many. I am trying to find some that would possibly allow for multiple controllers or at the least multi player over wifi. Overall I am looking at just about every known emulator. For things like GBA, N64, PS1, NDS, among others.
Also ideas on controllers, and/or ROMs it would be much appreciated.

Thanks, do you know if it supports multiple controllers?
I was wondering what emulators people have experience with or know about.

Multiple controllers are not supported, because psp platform is made for single player mode
But game can be played with friends with ad-hoc mode
