I want to keep myn's black market. Every time I uninstall the new market and reload it the new crap is back;how do I fix that? I know I just made a similar topic but the problem is slightly different and the solution didn't work. So any suggestions?

I did a nand restore to previous market, then before opening market I froze Market updater in TB. Then installed Black Market and presto no update.
Do I have to do a nand restore fir it to work like that?

Well you have to somehow freeze market updater before the market updates. Once the market updated for me I wasnt able to flash back to black market. So I had to do a nand, if you can flash the black market successfully id just freeze market updater then flash away.
I am able to go back to the black market by uninstalling the update. So does that mean I just freeze it after I uninstall but before I reopen it?

Yep uninstall update, then freeze market updater. See how that works for you.

After doing numerous back ups and restores, my market will no longer recognize all the apps I download. Since it does not recognize them I cannot see when updates are available.

I am also having this issue. I backed up all my apps using titanium back then updated to damage control 3.5 froyo build. I was able to restore them all but for some reason they are not linked to the market and thus, won't let me update. Anyone know how to fix this?

Any help on this?

This isnt a fix but it my be of help till one is found. If you download AppBrain you can use it to tell you when there are updates. (jsut download then run and sync apps should list all apps with updates and you can then let appbrain update them through market.)
I have the same problem on the download portion seems even doing updates doesnt fix but that is what i do as a work around for now

okay, i figured this out long ago so ill share. just go into you applications settings and go to market then hit the clear data button. once you load the market up and accept the license agreement, it will show up.
Im currently using the free titanium back and I want to freeze the market from updating. I cant use the market unless I accept the terms and update it. Help please

In titanium once open you will see the words backyp/restore... touch that. Then scroll down to the market app and just under you will see another apparently called market updater...or something. Then just touch that and hit the freeze option.
Hope that helped.

Yes, you're not alone on this issue. See the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041493
I'd roll back to the most recent 'working' version you had. For me, that is back around v 1.4...
How do u revert back to the old version?

If you go to market and go to your 'downloads' section there should be an option to 'uninstall updates'.
I just checked it it only say uninstall, and I checked google maps its the only app that I can uninstall updates. Weird =0

I use appmonster and you can back up just the app without data. It autoback's each app you install without over writing the previous version. That way if an update gets jacked like this one you can uninstall it, go to your appmonster folder, and reinstall gthe previous version. But the uninstall updates works if you don't want to purchase an app. Imo appmonster is the shiz because you have the apps .apk file. Saves time on installing apps after a full wipe if the sync feature doesn't work as it should(which in my opionion hardly ever works)
dont send me pm's crying about how i hurt your feelings in a thread
I've had this issue with the Android Market 3.1.5 (and lower) - stock 2.3.4, no root.
Usually if I get a notification that I have an app update and click on it, it takes me to the my apps section however there are only the paid apps i've bought sitting there. Not the other 90 apps that I've downloaded free.
I go and clear data and that works sometimes. And other times it doesn't. I've submitted the problem to Google but I was wondering if others see this behavior and if there are any work arounds???? It's real frustrating.
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the Market. Rebooted phone, pulled battery. Even done a factory reset. This happens on my E4GT and my Evo4G.

If you restored a backup chances are market links were restored and you will have to wait for an update or unstall and reinstall the app

It is selected and even if I toggle them, nothing improves.

I have the same issue, I prefer the older market version (wich does show all my apps, and shows the updates better also), but it wont allow me to keep it from updating for some reason, even if I freeze market updater.
it always upgrades to 3.15 after a few times going into market
this has been happening to me since I got the phone. I rooted and then went back to stock kernel, which kept me rooted. I restored my titanium backup apps with data and I believe that may have something to do with it.
as soon as I see that I have updates I know I will have to go to applications and clear data and reopen and it will then show me all of my apps again.
I talked with Google's Market help today. They know about this and are trying to figure it out.

I have tried renaming the marketupdate.apk in system/app but it still updates itself. I have tried freezing said apk with titanium backup and yet it still updates itself. I have a version of the market that I like but installing it everyday is getting old. How can I successfully keep it from updating on its own?? I'm on CM7.1 btw. Thanks.
Did you freeze the market or market updater?

I froze the Market Updater using Titanium Backup.
A quick search found me this

Hope this helps...
Froze that marketupdater and the damn thing still updates. I then deleted marketupdater and it still updated to the new crap market! What the hell?

I hate it. I can search for an app and then try to install it and it just sits there forever. But as soon as I install the older version and search for the same app and install it, the app downloads and installs right away. Sigh.

Yep, multiple times. I have installed the old version a few times now. I must have jacked with the wrong file or something cuz now the new version FCs when I try to download somthing and the old version closes as soon as I click the Market icon. LOL. I need to reinstall my ROM anyway. Fresh start.
It definitely decreased the visibility for my app. In that way I don't like it, but as a user, I got used to it.
