I'm looking for an app that I can use to easily organize my apps on miui since it has no app drawer. I had something in mind like an app that anytime you downloaded an app it would ask you what folder you wanted the app to be placed in. Anything out there that automatically does this or something similar?
create folders and store them in there

Best bet is going to be just moving it to the designated folder be it games, utilities, social media/network etc etc. If their isnt a program that does what you want then most likely you will have to make it yourself or find someone who can make it and ask them, or simply just leave it as is and be happy.
Thats my 2 cents sorry if i didnt help you much.
I use LauncherPro. Seems to work nicely.
I believe Folder Organizer might be what you're looking for, OP. I use it in combination with LauncherPro.

And anyone know of an app that keeps track of how much data you have send/recived so I can keep track of when I reach the limit im paying for ?

Yes.... Been using this method since day one.
I have one page solely devoted to Folders.
you can use App Organiser (free from Market), its more customisable and powerful than the standard folders. basically you can label your apps as certain category (or even more than 1 category), then you create a shortcut for that category. when you click on it, it opens up like a normal folder. besides this, another advantage over standard folders is you can customise the icon.
App Organiser
. . . and it also allows you to export and import the current settings. Very handy incase of format and re-install of firmware.
Check it out at http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.google.code.appsorganizer
Is there an app that can do the similar, but in the application menu? (not on the home screen)

sorry to bring up month old thread, but did you find application you looking for ?
I'm looking for the same thing
My turn to bring up the month old thread but i'm also really interested in having folders on the application menu (touchwizz)
Would be very helpful
I just downloaded and installed folder Organizer lite, which is a tool that offers nicer folders that one can have on their Homescreen. The idea is to have all your organized apps in one folder than having them spread out over the homescreen.
For Example: Games app in one Folder and Utilties in another. Less apps on the homescreen. But Folder Organizer is only a lite version and I cannot edit apps into the folder unless I purchase a full version. now this is where the problem lies. 'The buy' is not available in Sweden(which is soooo stupid); so my question is can someone please tell me of another app or another place that I can get this full version?

Yes, I thik so but the folder Icons are not that great. They are just plain.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.google.code.appsorganizer from the same dev as folder organizer
Just Tried App Mate and it does the job effectively. Thanks whiskeybro.
XIAfbk, I checked out the link you posted and it looks to be the same as Folder Organizer. Does it work right out of the box or do you have to pay to to edit the folder?
I use smart shortcuts
Easy to use and edit...

Hi,
I've been searching for days with no solution.
I'm looking for a way to create folders of shortcuts, and sub folders within it. Target is to place those folders on the home screen.
For example, apps organizer, can create games/apps/system etc. folders and so, but I wish to create sub folders: I have about 100 games or so. I wish to categorize it not only as games but as games/puzzle, games/arcade games/action and so on.
Didn't find any app that is able to do that.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Amir.
Did you already tried Folder Organizer, afaik it should do what you need and it's made by the same author of "app organizer"

Yes I did. As fa as I know, it can create only 1 level of groups... not any sub levels (group within a group).
It depends if you are looking for a free solution or if you want to pay something, I have the paid version and I've tested right now that you can put whatever you want in a folder and also nested folders, it's very flexible

Yes, I'm willing to pay, but I didn't see such an option, in the full version.
Are you sure I'm able to create nested folders in the full version?
Full version is very powerful. Imho its WAY too powerful How about you buy it and try it out for 24-48hours and return it if you don't like it. Thats the beauty of the google market
If you like apps to be in alphabetical order in touchwiz, download 'appzorter' from the market. Really good app! Now all my icons are sorted nicely
Free.
Oh thank you ^^
Indeed a nice utility.
But does anyone know how to rename a folder in the Applications section of TouchWiz ?
I like that the sorter can place folders first, but when I create folders they are named Folder 1, Folder 2 ,etc. Cannot seem to find how to rename them.

Great, Many thanks for this...
BTW, is there such a thing as a TouchWiz 4 for Sii user manual ?
Thanks! Can I check whether the apps that came with the phone remain unsorted while those which we download get sorted?

Good question! It seems to sort every app in one batch. So downloaded and phone apps will be jumbled up. Unless you make a folder with all your downloaded apps and sort them that way. The app will also sort apps in folders.
Thanks! Oddly, it doesn't behave that way for me. The Samsung/Galaxy apps are sorted as one batch and the downloaded ones as another. I did clear the TWLauncher data before sorting. Maybe I'm missing something?

I'm currently trying to fix that behavior. Samsung has added "default_sort" for preinstalled apps in 2.3.4, that causes wrong sorting in some cases (gaps on each page, wrong order, etc). I'll try to fix that issue in the upcoming update.
Do you know how to sort alphabetical order only apps which are in folders?
Start AppZorter and press the menu button
I did. I choose only "Folder contents-Sort folder contests" but it also re-order other apps too (which aren't in folders). Here are screnshots of page 1&2. I only want to sort page 2 (folders page).
Hi I need a little help if possible, I'm trying to find an app that will let me automove files and folders, I've found an app called "auto-move" that will move my files for me automatically but it doesn't move folders at all. So I need an app that can move folders to another location by the file(folder)name. I found the app called "tasker" and it seems like it might be able to do what I want but not sure as it's a bit of a headache for me to use, so is anyone experienced enough with "tasker" to help me?
Please keep in mind I have looked through a lot of guides but they all involve moving files and not folders.
I basically want to monitor a folder, and if that folder has other folders In it, it will move them to a certain location depending on folder name.
you can use other apps for this purpose, sync type apps like Synchronize Ultimate can sync folders and files to local and cloud network, create sync profiles but also has option to "delete from source after sync" and has plugin for tasker. So you may want to check those kind of apps.
I also found tasker difficult to handle and gave Automate a try, no complaints.

Thank you for the quick reply, yeah I figured it out now, I scrapped using tasker. I'm using auto-move to move the files to destination folder and using redirect pro to move files out of folders to the parent directory so auto-move can do its thing. I'm gonna check your suggestion as I'd prefer one app to do the job and by the sounds of it your will do the job
