The people in modaco have found out tha the usb brick fix was also useful in helping to downgrage your Hboot version!
It's HERE
Might be useful to anyone who has rooted and accidentally upgraded their hboot and now need to downgrade for warranty return.
Really useful for me to sendback my Desire to HTC !
I'm back to 0.75 from 0.80, thank's for the link
This might be a simple question but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.. why is it that some ROMS update the HBOOT version?
I'm on Telus Desire with HBOOT 0.83 w/SLCD, after reading about some ROMS saying they don't update the HBOOT, now I'm wondering which ROMS do and why cause I don't want to brick or do anything to my phone
Upgrading the HBOOT won't brick but it will mean you won't get root -- at least for now. Froyo 2.2 upgraded me to 0.92
can someone please help me I upgraded hboot to .92 and my phone wasnt working then reverted to stock and now my phone only boots into fast boot I now have radio 1.0 and hboot .77 and S-off dont know what to do please help
How many different threads are you gonna make asking the same question??

Rename to PB31IMG and put on root of sdcard.(SD card must be fat32) then boot into hboot and let device do its thing
http://dougpiston.com/files/Ruu/bui...and-2.15.00.07.28-hboot-0.92.0000_PB31IMG.zip
When done please read before flashing Hboots all willy nilly
Also this will get you a .92 hboot an and 2.15 radio. kthxbai
Whoops please delete, someone answered before me
Recently I changed my DesireHD's mainboard at service center and they put a newer mainboard into mine.
Because the newer mainboard is not compatible with old hboot (such as hboot in Build 1.32 or 1.43 or etc), when I try to downgrade or eng s-off, my desire hd boot very slowly with long vibration.
I find way to install CWM recovery with ship s-off, so i don't have problem with installing custom ROM or customizing, but I want to eng s-off my phone because of using fastboot.
So I'm looking for a new hboot which is eng s-off and compatible with new mainboard.
Anyone know what I want is exist? or Anyone can make it as a favor?
God bless my poor english
im having the same problem... now im on the eng off that really takes me 6 minutes to boot up htc white screen and 3 minutes of vibration then i can use my phone...
how do you return back to stock hboot?
There are quite many way. PD98IMG.zip, RUU, Upgrade, etc.
But I recommend this method paste.pocoo.org/show/
Try it, then it will clear up your problem
P.S.
Cause I'm a beginner in xda, I can't attach direct link in the post until I post eight posts, so I remove http from the link.

To my knowledge, there is no Engineering HBOOT. But other phones such DHD and Desire S/Z do have ENG HBOOT.
I see two options... Alpharev http://alpharev.nl/ or create your own custom HBOOT(more dangerous option).
