Nexus like navigation panel?

Is it possible to change Hero Sense navigation panel ( the one which is in the bottom, like semicircle ) to one that Nexus has? Or even android standard one?

You can change to android stanard very very easy without doing any modification of your phone.
Go to your apps list and select "htc sense" or "touch flow" whichever is what you see and then click "clear defaults"
Then press the home button.
At this point it should give you an option to go home with either "home" or "touchflow" click home and you have default android. But will not have any of the htc specific stuff e.g. widgets.
You can always revert back by clearing defaults in "home" in app screen (assuming you set it as your new default)

Yes i mean this. Sense one is to big and useless for me.

Yes it's possible to add the Nexus One style launcher. However, I believe it'll only work with 2.X roms.

Download LAUNCHER2.APK
Then:
adb remount
adb push Launcher2.apk system/app
Voila!
If it doesn't work, rename it to Launcher, and it'll just wipe it over the top.
If you have any problems, let me know and I'll sign it as an update.zip for you.
BE WARNED THOUGH: Due to the demanding graphics, although it strangely runs MORE smoothly than the stock Android 2.1 launcher, it can on occasions cause your phone to SOFT reboot.

Actually the modifications to Launcher2 to make it work on mdpi devices were done by me... Says so at the source posted by jnwhiteh .

couldn't install it on Modaco 3.2 Beta 5

Thanks for the Launcher2.apk. It's working wonderfully on my GSM Hero running KaguDroid 1.2.1.

No need for that, just copy to sd and install it with a file manager or with adb install from your hd.
To remove go to Settings:Applications and remove it from there.

No development until we can figure out what exactly is breaking and we can fix that... hopefully itll fix itself next month when we get HTC 2.1 framework.

I have been using it since yesterday afternoon with no problems (cept when I tried to use the Nexus One Live paper and got stuck in a reboot loop ) Awesome work man, now my phone feels like it has 2.1 on it!

JP3 is froyo right ?

this is the google eclair official launcher .
i didn´t modified ANYTHING .

I searched a bit and i found that u need to install them at /system/app and it should work =D

I can't remember exactly where I found it, IIRC a German forum - but this is a newer build of Genie Widget which works fine in Froyo on the Galaxy S.
Version is 1.2.02 RC2

I confirm this also works on Eclair and it works much better than v1.1!

i would really like to have the stock dialer,contacts and sms apps. i didn't try to install them yet because i read in some thread that (at least the contacts app) FS's when you just install it. i guess you would also need the various provider packages etc. has anyone tried it yet?

Hello, guys!
I managed to mod an application to have a transparent background and it worked just fine, so I decided to share it with you.
This is the new News and Weather Widget from Google that works on Froyo and above on every ROM and every device. It has some new features such as displaying more information on the weather by clicking on the weather icon within the app (as you can see in the first picture) and a cool cerulean highlight effect when pressing on the widget.
Since 1.3.11 from Jelly Bean, it was updated to improve freshness and power consumption.
*UPDATE*

Updated GenieWidget to 1.3.11 from Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Now you can choose between 2 glow colors when pressing on the widget on the home screen: ORIGINAL BLUE or MIUI ORANGE!

*INSTRUCTIONS*​
Uninstall any previous version, if any (if it's a system apk, remove it using Root Explorer or any equivalent apk);
Download the version you desire (BLUE glow or MIUI glow);
Push it to /system/app with adb, or just copy it to your sdcard and install it as a regular apk;

Having troubles or force closes? Please, remember that this is just a mod, I'm not the author of the original apk, so make sure your problems are coming from my mods *only* before asking! I made this, but result isn't change. Widget works, and app when starts - crash.
UPD: This isn't bug of this app, this is bug of cyanogemod. Because the same error in some another app, that connect to internet (Beautifull Widget - when search theme, etc)

Hi im running onecosmic's port of ics on my i9000.
I couldnt find any options to set my widgets to transparent.
So im wondering if its ok for me to install this apk, assuming this apk was meant for froyo and gingerbread.
Edit:
Ive mistaken this for an ability to make all the widgets in ics to go transparent.
Is there a way to do this??

. 1 thing tho. This go launcher ex is a bit slower than regular ics launcher, zeam and adw launcher.
It would be awesome if i could edit the ics launcher to have all transparent widgets.

I'm really sorry, but there is no easy way. Happy news is you can get many transparent apps/widgets mods in this thread.

That would simplify everyone's life, but backgrounds are built-in in the apks and need to be edited and 9patched, or decompiled, edited, recompiled and signed again. That's no job for a launcher, unfortunately.

I'm trying to install the transparent version on my Galaxy Nexus with Astro. Looks like the existing has to be uninstalled. How do I uninstall as astro can't do it and when I try to uninstall with App Mgr it wont do it?

If that's a system apk, you can't just uninstall it. You have to remove it manually: use Root Explorer or any equivalent app and make sure /system is set as R/W. You'll find that in /system/app.

It is a system App.
Sounds like I need to root first, install root explorer, find and remove it and then install the transparent APK?

I had trouble with my titanium backup, as it tried to restore swipe settings ave as mentioned before swipe is not included. Our ifs not a bug, but be aware that this might cause trouble.

Hi, I downloaded the .apks of the swype, twcalculator and twcalendar. Of course it wouldn't just install like other normal apps, so I tried to move it directly into the system/app folder.
I just won't move (or copy)! Says that some error ocurred and that it's impossible to move.
The phone has Kezra V3 rom and V6 super charger. It's rooted alright.
I miss swype... and MOST OF ALL, I miss XT9! It seems it just went away with this Version 3. Downloaded Go Keyboard but didn't really liked. The stock gingerbread keyboard with swype and full functioning XT9 is far better.
I'm considering "dowgrading" it to V2 again, I found a working download link somewhere in the V3 thread for it.
Can anyone help?

unzip the rom, place all the apps that you want in "system", "app", rezip the rom and flash it again without wipping data in cwm, that should solve your problem

Thanks a lot mate. I'm going to give it a try.
I tried to do this after the rom was flashed, with scrip manager. Just copy the app directly into the /system/app folder, however it didn't work.
I'll post my experiences back.
By the way, do you have any insight on the XT9 issue? It was a must have for touchscreen keyboards... I could live without swype, but XT9 was suppose to work with samsung keyboard... I'm confused with that.

Dude, thanks a lot! I tried this ICS keyboard and liked it. It's not as intelligent as the stock gingerbread keyboard used to be but it goes quite close.
I tested the SlideIT app and LOVED IT. Replaced everything else, and now KP V3 works fine for me
I can't thank xda dev enought!

Trebuchet launcher on JB?

Okay, so I've been running Codename Android, which comes with Trebuchet (I believe v.02) as stock launcher. However, I've recently switched to SlimBean which comes with Holo Launcher HD as stock launcher.
I'd love to return to Trebuchet but stick with SlimBean.
I've found Trebuchet v.01 for ICS, but can't find the newer version that Codename runs with.
Any ideas or links for me?

Extract it from the rom on your phone using root explorer or like program.

Double click on Codename Android's ROM zip file, then go to \system\app\ and find Trebuchet.apk

Of course it didn't incorporate the Trebuchet launcher settings, but I'm using anycut to get to those.

Hi! I also use Trebuchet in a different ROM (cMIUI) and did the same thing, copy the apk and install it. My only problem is that i dont know how to use anycut to access to the trebuchet settings. Please can you tell me? Thanks!
