Am I supposed to answer you this question?
I do not get if you are not going to answer a proper response, why to bother in typing so useless reply?
For the records yes I tried and since I could not find anything I decided to ask. Even tried to make an update.zip by myself and flash it, but it screw my media and system volume, so yes I have tried to do things before posting.

Well, since you said you tried to google... First let me say that I'm not sure where the DSP Manager comes from, so copyright/licensing might apply.
I'm not sure if the Sense version is different, but there is a DSP Manager in CM6. You could unzip the CM6 update, extract the .apk from the system/app folder and then install via abd or a file manager from the SD card.
If the Sense DSP Manager is different, you might be able to do something similar with a Sense based ROM.
EDIT: If you are getting volume/media issues with your homegrown version, that might suggest that you need the a different kernel, i.e. install CM6. There might be other ROM offerings that will give you Sense and the right kernel, but I don't follow that kind of stuff very carefully.

By just installing the apk is not enough, you need to pass the lib.so file to system/lib however not even like that works

First result on a Google search for "dsp manager." That's why I "bother in typing useless reply."
Works fine for me on cyanogenmod after uninstalling the original with titanium backup.

Anybody try to install the DSP Manager on the Vision yet via the apk or flashing it (not the built in DSP Manager on some custom ROMs)? I've been looking at this, since the lack of equalizer on the phone is maddening. I've been hesitant to try DSP Manager, since it seems to cause issues on some phones, according to the following thread.

Before posting this thread I followed that link, and sadly is not working by flashing it as a rom, it makes my speakers to not sound at all.

question about trying out different ROMS

I just installed bugless, don't like it, I want to try out Damage, I'm using ROM Manager, do I have to uninstall bugless 1st, or can I just go to ROM Manager and install another rom over what I have now?
My phone doesnt have any apps or anything that I need to back up.

just install damage next, just select wipe when it asks you in rom manager
You just flash the new rom. If you ever switch 'base build #'s', like android base 2.1 to 2.2 for example, then you should clear you cache and all data before flashing.
It would be a good idea to check make a backup in rom manager just in case something goes strange during the new flash.

yes, it basically starts fresh. Wipes the data, cache, etc.
By the way, only reason im leaving bugless is Sprint Nav, TV and Voicemail are gone....these aren't available to install individually?
Well, and also leaving it bcus it wasn't quite bugless, was giving erros when changing settings on the phone, and while using some of the phones features.

Gee, maybe if you would of took my advice to begin with over at AF, and just started flashing them all and try them out. They all have pros and cons, it's all about what works best for you
Just an FYI, try out damage control, it's got everything you want. If there is anything you don't want just delete it. Same with fresh.

I used that step by step tutorial posted on AF.
Only think im wondering about is when i originaly installed bugless it was via ROM Manager, and when it asks you do you want to backup current ROM and wipe, I said yes to both, wasnt sure what ROM it was backing up as the only thing so far I had done to my phone was going through the full root process.
this time around when I installed DC I didnt select the option in ROM Manager to backup current ROM, still not sure it that questions pertains to the current installed rom, or the one being installed.....but in any case my internal phone storage says 313, and SD out of 7.41 5.85 is avail.
I used Astro to see if I identified anything from previous rom, but then again I wouldnt even know what to look for....hopefully I don't have any useless files lingering around taking up space.

The one that you are backing up is the one that you are currently using. It is always a good idea to backup the current Rom. I always do right after I flash and verify everything is golden, and also after I get everything set up.
I find it easier just gong through recovery, than using the rom manager.

Yeah rom manager took about an hour, not sure why....i was afraid to stop it mid stream and do it manually.
In anycase Damage Control is perfect, I also added Launcher Pro, that way I can switch to sense once in a while, or the launcher that was on the rom, or launcher pro, this way I can switch it up once in a while to not get bored...other than that this rom is perfect, bugless had too many issues, and was too blah.

Rip the .apk from a stock rom and then try and install it on the ROM you're using.
ok i'll try that. I'm not certain i know how so let me know if this process isn't correct...
Unzip the Rooted Stock 2.2 ROM
Search for carpanel.apk or somthing similar, then just move that to the sd card and install it.
Thanks. I'll let you know if this works!

download astro file manager from the market.
This app allows you to browse files on your sd card.
Find those .apk files that you need to install.
and itll detect to install it once you launch them
***Side Note***
The first time you try to install an apk itll have a security/protection setting
Youll see what i mean when you attempt to open that file, itll ask you if you want to unblock ---> unblock by unchecking that box.
Thank you very much ! This was quite helpful my HTC desire.
Dude thanks! You rock! Seems that CoreDroid missed that element in their v8.1 ROM for HTC Inspire/Desire HD. I'll be trying this for sure.
Thanks for the links nhutpham, has helped out a family member who lost car panel due to the android 2.3.5 and sense 3.0 updates.
Likewise, my Amaze (2.3.4, Sense 3.0) simply didn't have an HTC Car Panel app. This is a little old, but works fine. Hopefully Sense 4.0 with the ICS update will come with the new car app I've seen demoed at MWC this week.

Keeps downloading image even when already downloaded

My girlfriend has downloaded an image from internet by long pressing the image and then selecting "save image" on her Wildfire S with stock Android 2.3.3.
The problem is that the phone keeps downloading this image over and over again even when it is already downloaded. It tries to download the image about every sync action for over a week already.
Before i just delete the whole history i thought maybe someone here knows the answer to this problem, so she can avoid it in the future.
Many thanks for your help!
Hi, I have similar problem, but with applications. Sometimes phone starts downloading already installed app. Even if I set all apps to manual update only.
This behavior is really killing my data plan limit!
My friend with the same phone has this problem too.
Anyone have similar problem or solution to fix it?
The same with me. Does anybody know how to fix it?
Same here. Must be something specific to the wildfire S
I've got the same issue. I guess it'll go away once I can flash a CyanogenMod or MIUI ROM
Works for me alright
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using XDA App
It's worth completely removing the offending application and then reinstalling it. I had the download issue with 'LED Light'. Removed it and reinstalled it and problem resolved.
I now have the same issue with another appl - will try the same solutoin
It seems to happen when you do an update which is interrupted partway
We ported this rom on the Aria and had the same issue. I replaced the DownloadProvider.apk and DownloadProviderUI.apk with the ones in CM7 and it now works fine.

Here are the apps. You need to delete them from your current rom and replace them for these.
How do I delete them without root access? My Wildfire S is not and can not be rooted at the moment

I assumed the Wildfire S was "rootable". That's a very goo question. You can try something but I have absolutely no guaranties it is going to work because I personally never tried it. Either way, it's your call.
**Make sure you back-up your phone to the Google Server because this will wipe all the data in your phone.**
1- Run the RUU for your phone. This will extract the rom to the temp folder of your computer. For me it's under C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\. An easy way to find it is to clear that folder prior to running the RUU. This way, it should be the only thing in there.
2- Enter the folder and look for a zip file called rom.zip
3- Open the zip file using 7-zip or Winzip. DO NO EXTRACT THE FILES ON YOUR COMPUTER TO REPACKAGE AFTER. THIS WILL SCREW UP THE ROM. You really want to make any addition or subtraction from the archiving utility.
4- Extract the system.img file. Now the challenge is to find a way to edit the content of that file. I personally have no idea how to but I'm sure there must be some tools to do that.
5- Once you've managed to open the .img file, under system/app, there should be DownloadProvider.apk and DownloadProviderUI.apk. Delete those and replace them with the ones I sent in my previous post.
6- Close the .img file.
7- From 7-zip, delete the system.img file and replace it with the one you edited.
8- Close 7-zip and follow the rest of the instructions from the RUU.
Again, no idea if any of this will work because I've never been in the situation to make changes on an unrooted phone. Your biggest challenge is step 4. If you cannot get in that .img file, then I guess you'll have to wait to get root access to your phone. My guess is that it shouldn't be too long since HTC agreed to unlock the HBoot.
Good Luck!
And is it possible to change this files in a "running" ROM Image (rooted, without flashing)?

I think so. Like I said, I never tried it so it's all speculation here. How about you try to install the apk on top of the ones you currently have, i.e. without deleting them? You do have the ablility to install from Unknown Sources correct?

Yes i have. But I'm new to Android, so I want to be careful.
I replaced both in system\app folder (without installing) and after that my market doesn't work anymore.
So I had to flash my ROM cause the Backup files didn't work too.
Was a lot of work, making all new (but at least Titanium Backup works ).
Maybe somebody other knows more?

I am a bit confused here. What do you mean by you replaced in system/app without installing? Also, you said you used Titanium Backup. I thought this app only worked on rooted phone
Unfortunately, I cannot be of much help because I really have an Aria with a ported rom from Wildfire S. I personally fixed the download issue by deleting and reinstalling these apps, but in reality, I have no idea if that would work on the actual Wildfire S. Sorry that I cannot be of any help.
My phone is rooted.
I mean I changed the apk files in folder system/app with those from you (using Root Explorer). Before I deleted them I made a backup of the original ones.

Ok, so try this then. Delete the apk and don't replace them. Flash the Rom and boot the phone. Then install the apk from ur original Rom, i.e. not the ones I provided, but the ones u originally deleted.

The point is, I dont want to flash my ROM every week so I hoped there is a solution to change without flashing again.
Otherwise I will wait, my there will be a fix from HTC.
But I wanna say thank you, for your help and your patience with me!

Root issues HTC Desire

Hi all, hope this is in the right section.
I rooted my Desire last night using unRevoked 3.3 with the intention of removing all the bloatware on my phone and forcing most of the apps onto the sd card.
My phone seems to have rooted fine, i have the Superuser Permissions application on there, and Titanium backup pro seems to be working too.
Now when i use Titanium backup to try and remove programs such as Stocks, News and Weather, News etc... I click on the app in the list, click un-install and then it tells me its uninstalled. However the apps still appear in my menu and are still there following a reboot. Ive also tried another method using Super Manager and that doesent seem to work either. The apps are still there following them being 'uninstalled'.
Also, similar situation with the SD card, i downloaded Move2SD enabler and that doesent seem to let me move certain apps like Maps, Facebook and others.
Any idea where im going wrong? Im on stock 2.2. My phone is in debug usb mode too.
Any help would be great.
Cheers
The apps you want to remove/move are system apps in stock roms. So you cannot do such things, because you are not s-off. But you might be able to do the things you want with adb:

He did not flash a rom. He is just using stock rom. There is nothing to delete from a zip file, because there is no zip file he wants to flash.
Then what i suggest is flashing custom ROM and customize it just how you like, you wont need to S-OFF. (which is much more risky than flashing a ROM)
What i would also try is application called "SystemAppRemover", i'm using it for removing all the system bloatware which you mentioned, but im S-OFF so i cannot guarantee it will work.

Nevertheless, we should stop filling this thread with our senseless discussion.
haha thanks for the responses guys!
ive been looking at all the custom roms and whilst most of them look pretty cool, im quite happy with whats already on there at the moment, im just bored of seeing my phone telling me i dont have enough internal space etc... so i wanted to root and move as many apps onto the sd card as possible and delete all the unwanted stuff that im constantly closing in taskiller.
i did read something about putting the phone into s-off mode, i guess this is the way to go in regards to deleting the unwanted system apps?
also i believe that i cannot move facebook or google maps onto the sd card, am i correct?
Best option is flashing custom ROM, you could remove any apps you want from the flashable .zip file, and give you an unlimited storage for apps - A2SD. (well limited by SD Card capacity)
You can also S-OFF and remove apps you dont want, but it will barely help as you will probably still run with "low internal storage" errors at some point.
Also with stock ROM you are running, most apps wont be able to move onto SD anyways.
There are custom rom's based on Froyo 2.2 if you like it.
i guess i will look into flashing a ROM. i didnt really want to do that as i didnt want to have to reinstall everything etc... but i guess its the only way i will be satisifed lol.
Just make backup with Titanium Backup and then restore it.

[Q] Is there any way to restore stock audio to rooted DHD?

Hi everyone; I've a rooted Desire HD running TakTik 4.4.2 and the audio doesn't sound right when I run a game or play music. The ROM came with DSP Manager which was uninstalled when I flashed AwesomeBeats. What I wanted to know: is there a way to restore any kind of equalizer that I set up when DSP was installed, back to how my DHD should sound? If I remember right, my equalizer was pretty much maxed out with DSP but now I get some 'bits' of sound missing or not sounding right when playing games etc. I've tried most of the ROM's from the kind devs here and I really want to stay with TakTik so I don't want to flash another if at all possible. (or reflash TakTik) Thanks

Hi bananagranola, thanks for replying; I'm not 100% happy with TakTik's sound, for some reason (it might be my DHD) it doesn't sound right so I suppose I'm looking to put the phone back to stock sound if possible. I did another clean install of TakTik yesterday and it's still the same and I've kinda experimented with other equalizers, even Beats and stuff.
Stock sound needs a stock ROM. If you just want to go back to Taktik sound, just flash the ROM again without wiping. Since it's the same ROM it's not going to be dirty.

Thanks, yeah, I've done that. Is there nothing that's compatible with 4.4.2 that I can flash like Beats or something? . Just anything that will take out DSP etc and change the whole sound experience but keeping TakTik?
That would be a pretty extensive mod, and I don't know of another one. Maybe someone else does.

However you want.....I should suggest you to try out Viper4Android.
It's an .apk so either you place it into /system/priv-apps folder using Root Explorer or ES File manager. Or simply install as .apk file remove DSP Manager along with dspwrapper libs on system/lib/soundfx. Once that done reboot your device.
After reboot you should be able to see Viper4Android in your app drawer so choose it wisely which setting you're looking for in your device. Even you may have Stock kinda feeling on Any of your custom rom. For more information head over to Viper4Android thread links below;

Really appreciate the trouble you've gone to with that, thanks. Will give your suggestion a go and see what happens. Thanks again
With V4A you can customize quality sound with whole new level.Here's some tips as below;
-Menu > UI Setting > Expert mode
-Under Convolver click on Impulse responce,it will make a folder in your sd card named Viper4Android and subfolder Kernel where you've to put .irs files.
All possible .IRS files you'll find under this thread below;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2216193
Place .irs one by one and check which sound outcomes matches your taste. Once you pick one then you may further dig into it and make your own custom profile for Viper4Android.
Initially you might find it hard with setting up profile and other things but unless you try out yourself, you'll never ever enjoy the quality music.
***Plenty of Paid and Free .irs are available on Internet as well as here on xda so try looking more into it. I use HTC Beats Audio ((Z-Edition)) and beats pro+srs

Place .irs one by one and check which sound outcomes matches your taste. Once you pick one then you may further dig into it and make your own custom profile for Viper4Android.
Initially you might find it hard with setting up profile and other things but unless you try out yourself, you'll never ever enjoy the quality music.

Sounds good, excellent info, more thanks. Just doing everything you suggest in between fixing the car, loading music onto a USB drive, entertaining 5 kids and then some more. I really appreciate your input. Thanks.
Thanks for your help
I just wanted to say thanks to dr.patron99 and bananagranola for their help. Problem solved; I changed to Gimmeabreak ROM (which incidentally is the best ROM I've used to date, and I've tried pretty much all of them). Sadly, my DHD is going to be passed to my son as I'm getting a new phone soon but I really wanted to say a huge thanks to all here at XDA for their advice and guidance, especially those developers who have given so much time and energy. Thanks.
