Hot Keys/Quick Keys APK Inside For Non Stock Roms - G2 and Desire Z Themes and Apps

I have recently flashed to the newest CM Rom and I am no longer able to access my hot keys and assign them. Is there a apk floating around or is there a way for me to assign them? When I press them nothing happens. Any ideas? Thanks.

Menu.. settings.. cyanogenmod settings.. input.. scroll to bottom..

If your on cm there are settings to assign your quick keys.
Menu- settings- cyanogenmod settings- input settings- scroll all the way down and you will see quick key 1 thru 3 just click and select the app/shortcut you need to be assigned for each key.

Thanks a lot guys. I guess I was use to just pressing the buttons as well as seeing a app itself when in the drawer. I have my keys setup now. Are there anymore useful settings or hidden options in the CM Rom?

[Q] How to remove labels on the "desktop" ?

Hello,
considering the rom I use, is there a way to remove the labels of the apps on the "desktop" ? I currently have Messages/Mail/Internet/Music.
Thanks everyone for the trick.
I dont think u can do it with sense, but launcherpro could possibly do it..

press and hold the icon and drag it to the bottom 'Remove' option that appears.
Edit- I am telling about the HTC sense based ROM. Dunno about yours.

That removes the entire shortcut He just wants to remove the labels. No idea if it's possible on Sense though...
It is possible but there's no universal way to do it. You need to modify your rosie.apk to get them removed.
Look for an app called "Desktop VisualizeR" or "Multicon"
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
There is an app called apk manager, or apk editor...
You can use it on your pc to edit your apps (icon,label,etc...)
It's created by an xda member... Google it!
With this app you can remove labels.

Custom Long Press App ?

I am currently using CM7.2 which gives me the option to change what my long-press menu/home keys open, I usually set my menu key to open my Messaging app, I am anxious to switch to CM9 but I have noticed it does not have this option anymore. Does anybody know of a mod or application that can replace this customization option that CM7.2 offered?
Thanks in advance!

not at present
but you can use ViperX ROM, as it supports custom app and has 10 different gestures to select for a button
So u can easily remap your button to use any app you want
Its the most customizable Sense ROM
ViperX will allow you to do this, alternatively Apex Launcher Pro or Nova Launcher will allow you to do this but with gestures, so swipe up on screen opens a certain application, long press on a dock icon to open something.

Halo/PIE/Torch possible on sense?

Hey all, it's my understanding that Halo and PIE are built to work on AOSP based roms. I would love to go back to the stability and bonus features of sense, but having to have the menu button eyesore at the bottom of most apps is a deal-breaker. Is there any possibility of getting these addons working on a sense based rom? If not, are there any apps with similar features that can be used with sense?
I would also like to add a torch option on the quick settings menu if that could be done. I realize I can download a flashlight app, but I have been spoiled with having quick access to it on iOS 7 and AOSP.
Flash bonestock. It has a torch toggle, and also go to settings, display, and check "longpress home for menu"

Floating Notifications is an app that is as close as you can get to Halo. There is a free trial period for about 30 days.
As far as pie control, I think there is a launcher called LMT Launcher in the play store that has a pie-like fixture.

LMT launcher works, but it's not in the play store. it's on XDA though. just search for it.
pie control (which is in the play store) works as well, just not as neat as LMT.
sometimes, though, with LMT, it takes a few tries to get an app to start. it's annoying. if pie control showed the time and other notifications like LMT does, it'd be so much better.
Both of these look good. Do they allow you to disable the stock menu button?

My bad. It know it was included in a rom I was using at some point (can't remember which one) and it had been floating around in my TiB for a while now. I assumed it was available in play store as well.

Do you mean the three dots button? You can install a custom rom to do that or xposed has several modules that let you do that. Try Sense 5 Toolbox module.

there are no 3 dots on bottom of screen on my ROM.
technically yes, they can be ported, for example IHTFP69 ported HALO to TW on Samsung. No one said it could be done, he is a genius.
Try my ROM out, if you don't like it, try another.

I just finished downloading your rom and making a nandroid backup. Can't wait to try it out. Thanks for all the suggestions! I've been trying to hold off until 4.3 but with the recent delay it's just not worth waiting anymore.

It will be at least another month maybe 2 before we see 4.3
Replying here instead of in your thread in case anyone else is searching for this answer.
I am loving the rom so far, but I have two questions. The menu bar is gone almost everywhere, but it's still present in dolphin browser. Is there any way to fix that? It doesn't show at all on AOSP. LMT launcher is every bit as good as pie and the menu button being there prevents it from working properly.
I also don't seem to have a torch/flashlight widget in the quick settings. There is an app though which I can make work for me if there's no way to get it in quick settings. Just a minor personal preference.

I got the menu bar removed by changing a setting under display and gestures. It has the unfortunate side effect of making a long press on the home key open the menu as well, but it's still better than the always-present menu button.
