I would like to have the HTC reader app on my samsung galaxy tab. Can I download it somewhere?
Or is it possible to extract it from a ROM somehow?

HTC reader is a WM .cab, there is no such thing for Android. I am sure there are 101 different epub readers for Android on the Market.
wrong.....!

Fbreader is much better, and free on the market

After you root, use root explorer and find ereader.apk in systems>apps folder

Well, I found the APK's but it seems I couldnt install them on the galaxy tab. I guess there is some sort of protection there. Thats too bad. From what I've seen so far, the htc reader seems better then the other alternative
Is there something else I need to do before I can install it on the galaxy tab? or does the galaxy tab also need to be rooted?
Well, there are another better ereader app try some, e.g alkido.
Do you know how to import epub file to htc reader?

I didn't really like Aldiko and I think it doesn't support Adobe DRM.
You can import epub books by placing them on your sdcard in the folder "Digital Editions". If the folder isn't there just create it.

ok, but let's focus on the topic.
does the htc ereader app require htc sense? or does it look for something else during installation? Do any of the Rom builders know this?

Thanks. But EReader does not support unicode fonts
I read that a future update of fbreader will support adobe drm. I guess I will wait for that update. Fbreader looks nice

OK, so I copy my new music over to the Desire, but it doesn't show up in the Music library.
How do I force the music app to rescan?
I'm copying album folders to SD\music, which is where everything else it does scan lives.
Am I missing something?
Restart the phone, or install SDMount Widget, unmount the card in settings and remount by clicking on SDMount Widget.
What USB connection mode did you connect the phone to the PC in? That may also have a bearing on whether the card auto-refreshes...

Like my title states...the one reason I love the MIUI rom is because of the folders. Is there any APK or any way we can get that on another rom? The MIUI rom has certain issues that I do not like to deal with. Thanks.
I believe astro file viewer allows you to classify your apps and make folders on your homescreens. It even allows you to pick the icons for each folder. It's free in the market.

Hi!
Dedicate Android media scanning only to selected folders, for example "/mnt/sdcard/external_sd/Music/"... is there an app for that?
greetings
Good idea, we need such a thing. Scanning of large space is really a long lasting thing.
I looked once on the market and found something like that, but i don;t remember the name. I use the .nomedia method. In each folder you want to be avoided scan, create an empty file with the name .nomedia; that's all
Just create a file named ".nomedia" in the folders you want to skip ;-)

Hi guys,
Is it now possible to create albums and sort pictures in the new ICS gallery? I don't think this was possible on gingerbread

And/or (if you have it set up to sync) you can control it in Picasa. But that is dependent upon having sync turned on, it is after-the-fact and requires a computer/regular internet, and does not "re-route" new pictures from the "Camera" folder.

Sometimes when I do this, especially when I move pictures around existing albums it doesn't refresh immediately. Any way to force a rescan of the media? Deleting the cache does not seem to always work

Try that to manually rescan the media. It works....sometimes. heh.
If you asked me this looks very odd. But when I attempt to copy some music albums from my PC down to my Galaxy Nexus, something strange happens. No matter what I do all the musics get moved to the root of the Music folder although they are originally stored in separate folders.
I even tried to copy the files into a very different folder completely apart from the default Music folder but the same thing happens every time.
I wonder why is this happening?
I'm using an Ubuntu powered box.

MTP is known for it's buggy implementation. I recommend using adb for file transfers (see the link in my signature).

It doesn't really seem like a bug to me. It's more like someone's put it there intentionally.
Thanks anyway. Seems I have to dig deeper for answers. :good:
Why don't you just sync your music files with your WMP to your phone? It's always working perfect for me. Regards

Because WMP supposedly doesn't run very well on Ubuntu.

Petrovski80 is right. WMP is not currently an option on ubuntu. I guess I just have to stick with command line for now.
