I searched for "ADW dock, edit launcher, change dock cyanogen" nothing.
I accidentally added my messages to where the app drawer icon is(over wrote it). I went through all the CM settings and ADW launcher settings to see if i could find anything to edit it but i cannot.
Reset under the ADW launcher doesnt work either.
thanks in advance guys

Go into menu/applications and clear the data under the launcher ... or you could add a custom one by long pressing on your screen ... custom shortcut ... and drag it down to the right spot.
lol yeah i just figured it out. Appreciate the snappy response...Happy holidays
I know you have an answer that works, but I wanted to share my findings when I did the same thing... What worked for me was to create a Custom Shortcut for the App Drawer on the desktop. I was able to drag that back over my incorrect icon. I can't look right now, but I believe the steps were something like:
Add->Custom Shortcut->Pick Activity->Launcher->App Drawer

Hello,
is there a simple way to replace all the Samsung standard icons with the Vanilla (stock) Android icons?
I really don't like many of them (e.g the ugly messaging icon).
Thanks in advance
Hmm...maybe with launcherpro you can change icons for apps you put on your homescreen. You can't do that with app drawer.
The only way seems to install a aosp-clean rom (when we'll get cyanogen I think we'll be ok) OR to install the aosp version of the apps you're interested in...guess they won't all work, but some should. Music will definitely work (I used it in some rom, and the samsung icon is really horrible), also calendar and messages I think should work...of course that would change also the application itself, not just the icon...
Download ADW Launcher, and then search for "aosp adw theme" in market and install.
Folder organizer might be useful in this case.
Although haven't tried!

I do it but that way i still don't have the AOSP drawer like the second picture that you can see here
there's a setting somewhere in ADW to activate that kind of drawer?

No, that's the 3D App Drawer from Launcher Pro in that picture.

Hi there,
I've been looking around on how to install buttons, but I can't find anything. Can someone explain this to me? Thanks in advance
Edit: New extra question XD. I downloaded a theme with 4 lockscreens. How do I switch between them? (Using Darky's ROM)

Depends on the launcher. I'm not sure how other launchers handle it but in ADW (EX) you just can longpress a shortcut icon to assign a new icon to it
I would also recommend ADW Launcher - has lots of free themes in the App Market, too & great settings customisation
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Hmm. Is there any possibility to do this via launcherpro or do i need to get ADW laucher?

Same process as ADW for launcher pro, long press change icon> custom icon (presuming you have some custom icons) .....
Ummm I want to change the icons of my home menu not the icons from my launcher. I can't figure it out tbh... just doesn't work the way you say it. Am I doing something wrong?
Anyone?
/10chars
Anyone? Is it Launch Pro dependant? The installation of custom home icons that is?
The threads of the originators I've come across don't have any guides as to how to do it.
He guys, I have a question: is it possible to hide the adw dock when opening the app-drawer?
I've been searching the adw menu for hours but I can't find any solution for my problem.
I use CM 7.1.0 and in the beginning, I think I had such a configuration (not pretty sure).
Thx in advance
Menu > ADW Settings > UI Settings > Drawer Settings > Full Screen.
That's using ADW Launcher EX, I assume the setting is in the same place for ADW Launcher.
Unfortunately there isn't such a menu point to find. I made some screenshots of what I can see in UI-settings. Is it possible that the 5 icon dock inhibits what i want?

Don't think it's anything to do with the number of icons on the dock, I can use 5 here with full screen app drawer without a problem. I guess ADW EX has its settings menu laid out differently to the normal ADW launcher (screenshot attached of the relevant option in ADW EX); maybe it isn't possible in the free version then?
Edit: This post by the ADW dev seems to indicate that it was a feature added to ADW EX, so you might have to stump up the £2.00 for that version if you want it that badly.
That would definitively explain why I can't find a way to do that. What confuses me, is that I think I already had the dock disappearing, I must be tripping
So I guess I have to purchase ADW EX. It could be worse^^
And a big thx for helping me!
hi everyone,
is there a way to change the icons of the apps in the dock on my GN? i tried installing Go Launcher EX and i found that it wasn't very fluid. I would much rather stay with the stock launcher. i just wish there was an easy way to change the icons in the dock so they could match the style of my home screen!
dialer, gmail. handcent and web browser are what i'm trying to trick out.
any help is very appreciated!
thank you
chris
As far as I know, it's not possible to modify app icons in the dock of the stock launcher.
^ seconded...I'm not sure that it can be done without a) changing the files in the framework on the Stock Rom, or using another launcher.
crud ok then, which launchers have worked the best for you on the GN? I'm really looking for one that will be as fluid as the stock launcher and not hog too many resources
ADW Ex is updated for ICS and is very quick/smooth and resource friendly.
You can do it with "Desktop Visualizer". Just create a new shortcut with the app, apply any icon you want, assign it to the application you want to open and drag it down to the dock.

Of course you can. I have.
Use Folder Organizer shortcuts, they work perfectly.
Edit: Nevermind. Misunderstood the question.
Just updated to 4.4.2, wiped, and then installed google now launcher but I'm having a weird issue. A couple of LG apps like email and weather have had their icons replaced with a bugdroid icon. Mind you, this is only when I'm using Google now launcher. When I'm using the stock one, the icons are normal. Anyone know what's up with that?

Me too - I'm on the stock rooted UK 4.4 ROM. I installed Nova Launcher & the aforementioned icons are generic. The same happens with Apex Launcher. I tried deleting the icon cache in Nova Launcher under Lab Settings but nothing happened. If I try to edit the shortcuts on the desktop the relevant app icons are blank.
The icons look fine when using the stock launcher.
On holo launcher it lets me edit the icons of items in the dock and on the home page.
Rather than choosing a different image for an item, I can also choose "default icon".
This fixes the icons, but only on the home page and in the dock, not in the app drawer.

did anybody try the stock widgets to see if they work like task manager because they used to work for 4.2.2

Not with Nova Launcher
Anyone have a theory as to why this is happening on third-party launchers?
I've emailed the Nova Launcher dev & will see if he replies
The dev wasn't able to help. Is there a way to extract the stock app icons from the ROM as image files and then we could edit the shortcuts?

In Holo launcher I can simply select the icons on the home page and change the images.
When changing I get the option of using a custom image, or use default.
When I select default, the icon works again.
However this fix only works on the home screen, not in the app drawer.
I know this thread is a little old but I just upgraded to KK and was wondering if anyone figured out how to fix this?

I just found a trick that worked for me, set nova's icon size to 85% in nova settings and the stock icons come back to life
