HTC auto ring volume options on stock android? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I remember in the promo video for the Desire Z one of the features I looked forward to was the rather novel auto ring volumes, some of the specific features were the phone ringing louder when noticing if it was in a pocket or having the phone lower the ring volume when it was picked up or muting if the phone was flipped over and put down. Is it possible to port these features onto stock rooted G2 or is it something lower level than just a service?

Volume reduction in Froyo?

Has anyone noticed that the volume is lower in Froyo than it was in Eclair?
I've tried a number of different apps (built in player, tunewiki etc.) and there seems to be a definite reduction in the volume since upgrading. Any ideas?
i was going to post a thread saying volume is much better!
earlier on 2.1 it was crap for me. now both in call volume and media volume are much better and in call volume is clearer. the rear speaker sounds less tinny and is passable now. the shrill hiss / tinny sound at max volume is gone now totally since froyo update i think atleast on the tracks i listed to (preinstalled music and soem youtube videos). i was infact thinking i might reduce the volume a bit which seems a bit of a shock to me knowing the crap rear speaker dished out with the desire. earlier i had said elsewhere that this was the worst speaker i had seen on a phone compared to any of my phones in the last decade, but now i retract that statement. looks like it was a software issue.
i had before the froyo update installed the free 'car mode' app that uses the rear speaker, i would use that mode when ever i put the phone in my trouser pocket as otherwise i would never hear the notifications and often the ring if i was out and about. then after fiddling around i found some sound settings which wasnt obvious at first and disabled the default tick box that made the ring volume and notification volume the same. after disabling that tick box then i could independently adjust the notification volume.
also before the froyo update i installed the free 'quick settings' app which under its settings has a setting for sound, under that apart from the usual volume controls, it has a separate control for system volume which i couldnt find elsewhere on the phone and after increasing that system volume to max, the volume output improved from the rear speakers.
but after froyo it is even better now, both for call volume from earpiece and rear speaker. i cant comment about the earphones as have never used them yet and still in its packet somewhere. wish there was a way to use the fm radio without needing the earphones.
Interesting..I'm specifically speaking of the headphone volume and the ringer volume. It's certainly lower (around 30% lower than 2.1).
I do agree the output from the inbuilt speaker is improved.
Upon further research, I have seen others mention similar issues and also relating to the quality of the sound. I've also seen custom roms using pershoot's audio mod which is supposed to increase loudness. Can this be applied to a stock 2.2 rom (rooted of course)?

Ringer Tweaks like HTC for Epic?

Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone can integrate these HTC Tweaks on our phone:
Lowering Volume when we move the phone while the phone is ringing,
when we flip the phone upside down when we are on a call, it goes on speaker
If we shake the phone, it turns off the ringer when it is ringing.
Thanks

[Q] Incoming Call Volume as Notification Volume?

For whatever reason Samsung took this option out of Android. I know its in CM, and my stock Evo Shift, Evo 4G, Epic, and Photon all had this option, as does my friends Droid 2 and Droid 3. I tweeted @galaxyssupport to ***** and they said they would pass it onto the R&D team.
Anyone know if this is something a dev could easily add back in or does anyone know of a good market app that can easily handle this for me. I hate not having it since I am so used to having it and I hate changing them separately.
I use Volume Control+ Pro to replicate this (former) setting. It allows you to configure the various sound settings at a granular level, and then lock them.
Android market link
I use quick setting for this, and easy access to other settings. You can shortcut it to long press search button if you like. (Not needed to make not vol and ring vol the same - the shortcut that is)
Incoming call volume goes HIGH up by itself
Hi..
My incoming call volume of my Motorola Photon 4g goes up close to maximum by itself if I leave the phone idle for sometime. It is so annoying and hurts my ear as it is so loud when I answer or place a call. I have to make sure every time before I hold it to my ear that I get the volume down again...
Any help please ??
Thanks

[Q]Fine volume adjustment

So, i recently got the D855, put MM stock rom on with root and TWRP, it's a pretty sweet upgrade from my galaxy s3, however I cannot seem to find fine adjustment for volume, even with 3rd party apps rom seems to reset volume to the set increments that volume buttons sit in. Now I'm cool with it being like this for media/notifications but with alarm... its either no volume or HEY JUMP OUT THE WINDOW END IS ENDING volume and up. utterly shocked me in the morning by surprise. wondering if there's any simple way to patch this, or whether if i get CM13 rom it'd let me fine adjust it and just keep the alarm volume lower (i tried stock google alarm too which is enough to wake me up tbh), i just want a quiet soothing tune to wake me up not a call to world war 3...
Other option is to learn to edit sound files to make ringtones quieter for the alarm, which seems like a lot of bother :/

Alarm, notifications and ringtone volume too high S20+

Hello!
I got my S20+ (SM-G985F) a few weeks ago and the alarm clock, notifications, and ringtone volume on my phone is too high. Compared to my old phone (LG V20), the minimum volume is equal to 50% of the maximum volume in my old phone. The minimum volume should be barely audible. This is a big problem for me, as I don't want to be woken up to loud sounds, and I don't want every room I'm in to be blasted with sound every time I get a notification or a call.
Here is what I tried so far:
* Installed "Sound Assistant" from the galaxy store. It doesn't do anything for the alarm volume, and the notifications and ringtone volume, even when it's 1/100, while it's better, it's still too high for some situations.
* I set the built-in EQ all the way down, it doesn't reduce the volume.
* I used an external EQ app (Equalizer FX) to turn everything down to -10db, which does help with the alarm clock, notifications and ringtone volume, but it also affects the media volume and makes it too quiet, so I have to disable it if I want to watch youtube for example.
Did anyone encounter this issue or have suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks!
I understand your problem. But if I choose e.g. Asteroid as the alarm sound and set it to lowest volume, it is really calm and pleasant to my ears, and I am quite sensitive to noise too.
The only possible way to maybe get a different volume control would be a Custom ROM like LineageOS I guess.
