whats the best way to switch from theme to theme... i had one basic theme running like a charm on my G2 and then i saw one that caught my eye and flashed it over top, decided i didnt like it and when i went to go back to the original, a lot of the stuff stuck from the theme i didnt want to keep.... so i ended up wiping everything and reinstalling CM 6.1, for some reason my nandroid back up didnt work so i had to reinstall the entire rom and set everything back up to my liking. used Titanium back up to reinstall all my apps and such, ran into a problem with the contacts and phone app though they were gone. had to pull them from a rom and reinstall... dont know why that happened...
so whats the easiest safest way to go from theme to theme with out the themes mixing together...?
anyone? lol

Hi all.
Im on DC 3.2.3 and Ive spent the past 2 days (ignoring the wife LOL) setting up my "desktop" to my liking. Im running ADWLauncher and do not see any similar option to that of the HTC Sense launcher where i could save a theme that I put together to save the hassle of setting it all up again, should I go a different route and want to revert to a saved theme.
Is this possible to do ?

why not do what alot of us do and back up your current ROM using ROM Manager. that way if you ever decided to test something else new, you can always go back to your currently nice setup ROM within minutes without having to worry about backup and etc...
With Titanium backup, you can backup user and system apps. There is a system app for HTC Sense: Desktop. Just restore that after you flash a new rom, or whatever, and you're right back to the way things were configured before. I use it quite often.

So the only thing I need to backup in Titanium to restore my current ADW Launcher theme setup, is HTC Sense: Desktop ?
I have sense disabled via DCConfig.
Thanks
Right now I'm using Baked Snack 1.75 and manup's theme which I spent several hours fine tuning to my liking. If I were to try out another ROM and later restored a backup of this current setup, would it revert to the customized theme I now have or would I have to reflash the theme onto Baked Snack and tweak it once again?
Also, at this point do I need to keep the zip file of the theme on my card or can I delete it? And I assume that depends on the answer to the question in my first paragraph.
Thanks in advance.
No you will not have to reflash anything. The theme will be there along with everything else.
In summary: A nandroid backup will restore the phone to the exact state it was in at the time of backup. This includes all your settings, your apps, your emails, text messages, etc. So, if you install a new ROM and either hate it or screw somthing else you can restore the backup and it will be as if you never touched a single thing. Period.
Yes, you can delete the zip file of the theme from your sdcard. you will not need it again unless you want to use it later to theme another ROM.
OK so this is the deal. I flashed CM 6.1 and wanted to check out the Dark Froyo theme to see how it works. Turns out it doesn't, anytime I attempt to add a new account I can't get Gmail in there, Market/Gmail app don't even open at all. So I reflashed a fresh copy of CM6.1 after doing a data wipe/dalvik wipe and still appears like elements from the Dark Froyo are in there i.e. the black and white icons for gmail and market. Still can't get gmail to open or market to open. Any suggestions?
Nobody has any info about this? I haven't been able to find a relevant thread
Try doing a factory wipe from HBOOT.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
CM themes save an xml on the sd in the folder /CMThemes
If you delete that file, I think the theme and its options will be gone.
Dont forget to "apply" another theme in the CM Settings first...
I did the factory wipe from Clockwork, and mounted the SD to my comp to make sure I deleted it and the thing is gone. I moved to a different ROM for the time being, which is unfortunate because I really liked Cyanogen. I'm just giving Ultimate Droid a test drive for now.

I had the same thing happen with the iNexus theme. The only way I could get back to stock CM 6.1 was to an earlier nandroid backup. If you didn't run a backup before installing the theme, you will have to do a new install.

What do you mean new install? I downloaded the CM6.1 zip and put it back on my memory card and the flashed it again if that's what you're referring do. I mentioned that in my OP.
EDIT: I suppose this is all irrelevant now seeing as the speaker appears to be shot. Looks like I have to call in for a replacement.
I installed myn's rom and love it! In doing so I wanted to play around since this is my first ROM I have installed. I installed a transparent titlebar, battery mod, and gingerbread menus from his list of optional items.
I then found f(red)'s gingerbread experience modifications that are listed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=866158
Now i am kinda stuck.. Now in the menus i have white buttons with white text in them.. so in short, i cant see anything
How can i correct this? Can i somehow load Myn's themeing back and then lay what i want on top of it to get what i want? I just dont want to have to reload the rom and wipe my phone.. it is just a pain in the butt to do so.
so i am not thinking... right now i am doing a clockwork backup and will use ROM manager to apply the same rom on top of itself. Then will apply the gingerbread experience items one by one afterwards.
Did you do any backups before you started appliying mods? Best to do a restore then boot into recovery and flash the mod. if you flash over too much it tends to get like too many layers paint on a wall. Not sure if this help at all but ill look into it a bit more for you

That would have been too smart
Fortunately i have gotten my themeing back by just reapplying the rom but i just lost root it seems. I cannot use setcpu, wifi tethering, nor titanium backup.. but i have no clue why.
It is like i lost root. How can i get this back?
Do you have the SuperUser icon? Try clearing its cache. Did you try to reinstall SetCPU, does it pop up the permissions box?
i downloaded and installed an app called root checker which verified that i somehow did not have root anymore... crazy.
I just did a full wipe (cache and all) and reloaded the ROM and all is well again. no clue why it did this or how... what can i say.. it is what it is I guess.
