how can I play streaming with MPEG audio layer 3 format in windows media player?

My WM10 player doesn't always play the video and music files I want, is there a list of the files types that the player will work with.
Failing this, is there another media player that will work with the most common types ie. mpeg, avi, wmv etc
I was just wondering whether somebody can make the cab or installer file to enable codec like xvid, rv, ra, divx etc to play all the media formats in the windows media player itself. Just like on our desktop PC we use Klite or vista codec packs etc.
When i play some MP3 music (with tmcp player, windows media, core... doesnt matter) it speed up and all &@#^@. Avi files, wma, wmv is good just with mp3 have that problem... any HELP??

ive searched all round and cant seem to find a media player like winamp for android
which plays most media formats including movies and audio
ive just uploaded some cds i have but its put them into mpeg-1 layer 2 format instead of
layer 3 is there a mpeg-1 layer 2 codec or player for android
or will i have to re rip them all into layer 3

Pocketplayer plays the audio in the .mp4 file but no video
WMV and HTC album dont pplay the file at all
Coreplayer plays it but there is no AVRCP support
