Bricked - help - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

About an hour ago I attempted to install a theme through a rom manager
it was "lithium mod".
My phone is now a very expensive advertisement for "lithium mod" as when it turns on, all it shows is a little loop of the lithium mod logo and "droid".
When I try to do ANYTHING in HBOOT i get a black screen with white bars.
What do i do?

you flashed a recovery that's only compatible with AMOLED screens... you have an SLCD screen.. you need this recovery:

(thx to jonsuh.com for link)
Flash this recovery via unrevoked and then re-flash your ROM

White triangle with yellow exclamation point (!). battery pull?

tried to boot in to recovery and got a screen with a white triangle and a yellow exclamation point inside above an android robot.
the suggestion is to battery pull. anyone else have this issue? if so, what's the procedure on reboot?
thanks.
I think that's the Stock Recovery Menu ( i kept getting it when i was trying to install the Patches from Fresh & used Clockwork Recovery because the two weren't compatible ).
Do you definitely have a Custom Recovery installed?
You pressed the power button instead of the optical trackpad when trying to reboot from custom recovery
Optical trackpad? What Evo has one of those? LMAO!
Flash Clockwork recovery or AmonRa recovery. You have stock (no recovery).
It is hard to answer your question without further specifics.
For example:
1.) Are you rooted?
a.) If yes, what are you trying to boot into recovery for? - flash radio/wimax or rom???
b.) If no, go to Android Development and read how to Root and install a custom recovery.
2.) If you have a custom recovery, what is it?
to put it simpler than this.
1. What ROM do you have?
2. What custom recovery do you have?
3. What step did you do to get into recovery? - from android or from boot up?
*If you pull a battery while trying to flash a radio, you might have the coolest looking paper weight in your part of the town
Hello shawnathan9!
I have similar problem with my Nexus one.
I have a rooted phone (used superoneclick to root)
Installed clockworkmod and flashed it with the recovery image.
Since I wanted to install latest cynogenmod I used clockworkmod to install the latest radio for it. Now when the phone rebooted it is hung diplaying a white triangle with and exclamation mark inside it. I haven't removed my battery yet and have plugged it to a power source. Can you help me ?
You're rooted, but you are trying to access recovery, but you don't have one loaded. Search google for Amon_RA or clockwork recovery to flash. If you have rom manager, you should be able to flash either or and it should work.
I did the unrevolked 3 and got it rooted. Then I booted it up into the recovery mode and ran clockworkmod. Now how do I get a rom (like mikfroyo 4.5) on it? I tried booting and selecting a zip from my sd card(which mikfroyo 4.5 is on it in zip form still) But it would not finish/aborted ? What am I doing wrong? I have the sptint HTC EVO 4 g phone with all the latest hboot ect on it.

That is part of updating the radio. Just let it finish and it will reboot into recovery. The phone has to go to that screen to update the radio. You may be able to save it by booting into that screen and just let it sit there for a while...eat dinner...take a dump...do whatever and come back and see if your phone is in recovery. I would turn it off and charge it first to make sure you have enough battery to finish the update.
I have the same experience, when I updates to Gingerbread (OTA).

Hello thank you so much for your information. I will leave the phone in that mode (screen hung with triangle an exclamation mark inside + android green logo below) and plug in the charger, until tomorrow morning. Then I have a question if tomorrow the phone still hung in that screen mode, what I have to do?
If you can give me solution, I would be very thankful. Happening in August 23, 2011.

After 2 days, trying to download updates firmware (OTA) GingerBread on HTC Evo 4G, I failed because the phone has been rooted, I found a "superuser permision" app. in the the All apps menu. This meant it is a rooted android phone, which will not permitted to update firmware OTA, is this true? If yes, this is the cause of screen hung at triangle with exclamation inside, and android green logo below.

Thats what my phone is doing the clockworksmod menu will not come up only see the
white triangle with the exc symbal with the android symbal. have to pull the battery out ot reset but phone still loads up and works.

[Q] Black Screen instead of RECOVERY (I have AMOLED)

Hi
HBOOT 0.80
Radio 5.14.05.17
I have my Desire for over a year and had it rooted with unrevoked and already used several custom ROMs. The current ROM is GingerVillain 1.1, which works beautifully.
I was able to boot into RECOVERY and flash without problems till today. But now when I boot into the RECOVERY in HBOOT (Power + Volume -) or the ROM-manager (if the ROM is launched):
First appears the HTC logo with white background, then the screen stays black forever. When I'm in this state and press the power button, I see the text "ClockworkMod Recovery v. 2.5.0.7", but not more. (I have not SLCD AMOLED)
When I removed the battery, I can start the phone again, and somehow it always starts at the HTC logo exactly twice, then booting up. The ROM is running as normal.
I have already installed the new ClockworkMod with the ROM-manager, which had brought nothing.
I hope someone of you a tip or an idea.
Thank you for your help.
Can anyone help me?
can anyone help me?
Try to reflash CWM using unrevoked again. You can only flash cutom recovery via fastboot if you are S-OFF.
If 2.5.0.7 is not working try a newer version on AmonRA.

White "Samsung" text on boot after flashing stock rom from custom cyanogen mod.

White "Samsung" text on boot after flashing stock rom from custom cyanogen mod.
I had Cyanogen mod installed and was having a lot of glitches/freezes. I downloaded and installed the stock ATT rom (UCDLK3) and flashed it to my device following these steps.
http://androidromupdate.com/2012/08...-sgh-i747-to-original-factory-stock-firmware/
After doing so, I am stuck on bootup with white "Samsung" text.
I found this thread which had a suggested answer, but my phone won't boot into recovery mode. When I try to boot into recovery mode, i see small text at the top that says "Recovery rebooting...", but then it flashs "Samsung" quickly, then goes back to being stuck with the white "Samsung" text.
How do I boot into recovery mode to wipe/data that may be preventing me from booting properly?
Ok what phone do you have? This is the forums for the L710 Sprint phone that link you posted is for a different S3. Hopefully you haven't bricked your phone. And that second link you found is for an HTC phone. Your all over the place.

What's wrong with my HTC One X?

In the begginings: Buy, enjoy blabla... Unlock bootloader, flash cwm 6.0.3, root, enjoy... and than i want something more! I try to install a customROM and i choose ViperX 4.1.1. . I read a lot of about this, than i flash philz touch, and install the rom. It works for weeks without any problem, and once on a nice morning it was frozen when i want to watch the time on it (one day before this is install tegra overclkock, and set the number of cores to 2, this may be the culprit?) reboot->white htc logo-> and its stucks on the white HTC screen (not boot loop) when i try to turn on (not the "htc quetly brilliant", just white background and green "htc" logo). I can boot into bootloader, but boot into recovery is difficult. A few days ago it was easy, bootloader->recovery and done. But now its stucks on the white htc screen too. Approximately in every tenth time i can boot into recovery (i dont now how, i try it on charger, on pc/usb, without charger, with full battery, with low battery, and sometimes its succeeds. I use Philz Touch 5.15.9 because i read that its recommended to install ViperX 4.1.1. I try to flash CWM recovery but its freezes now on the first "page", before i install ViperX i used this. TWRP recovery simple doesn't works on my phone (i try with and without thouch, but the volume buttons can't scroll, and the touch doesnt works too). So i have to use Philz Touch recovery. So, in recovery i did a backup from the stock ROM with CWM, and now i tried to restore with Philz (it can be a problem?) but its doesnt works, (the first time i can turn on, but after i make a call, it freezes and can't be turned on anymore, just the white htc logo...) i tried to install viperx, but it doesnt works too, but it can reach the boot screen, or even 1-2 times the home screen . After this i tried to install the ViperX or restore the stock in several combinations of wipe cache, data, factory reset, dalvik cache, flash boot image but i cant bring it to life...
Does anybody have any idea what could be wrong? Maybe a solution?
