Buy UltimateJuice! to improve it accordingly the Pro version of JuiceDefender shows improvement for me, I get x1.90 the battery life I get and needed with this.
I currently use a 3500mah battery with UltimateJuice! installed.
Helps me quite a bit, but with the big battery I have is given me x1.47 increase in battery life rather than my old battery that came with Sprint HTC EVO, That was increased and perkier if you get my drift saying that x1.90 was at its peak for battery live. I've recorded my hours kinda from my head remembering it, don't have any pictures, but I can tell you that with the normal battery, I get roughly 15 hours hardtime battery life using UltimateJuice! before also, on the new battery 3500mah, I have my phone uncharged for 1 hr and it's at 93% battery life lol, but it's the same build up in competition wise, I would say go for UltimateJuice! if you can.

Sure, just download it / buy it from the market (Pro Version) and click on the program in your phone, give it root permissions (yes), Click on "Enable" and the program itself should help your battery life in that way.

He's not rooted so he can't give it root permission. With the 3500 I don't even think he needs juicedefender just use the stock #17 kernel it's pretty decent with battery life I and screen off is great so i think stock #17 the 3500 bat is a great combo but if you really want to get better slightly better battery root your phone, get setcpu, download net cfs kernel probably one with smartass and set setcpu to smartass and your battery should last you more than a day maybe two depending on how you use it. but i'm a heavy heave user i get about 12-15 hours of use with the stock evo battery,

The funny thing about kernels is that it changes from phone to phone, I may get the best battery life with kings#9 and it might drain you're phone faster than there before.... I use calks 1.4 with kk#9 and I'm getting the best battery life I've ever seen with the evo. Else check to see if ur phone is sleeping properly.

I don't expect to convince anyone to go back to stock, but the newer ota updates and roms have fantastic battery life. I can't say that I have noticed any difference in battery life with the 3.30 but I haven't taken he time to observe. But 3.29 was a big improvement, or so it seemed.
I go about 40 before charging. And I'm a heavy user.

what kind of numbers are you getting??
So I've flashed over to incredibly RE-engineered and I heard about the great battery life and speed. I sure did have a more noticeable speed improvement but my battery life hasn't gotten any better. Any reasons why this might be? And for some reason I can't load any videos off hulu either. Anyone have these similar problems?

Everyone's battery life is different because everyone uses their phone differently. One person may get great battery life because they don't do much with the phone, and someone else will try the same, but they do a lot of streaming, web browsing, etc and have horrible battery life. It's all trial and error until YOU find the combination that works well for YOU.
And the hulu problem I believe there is a fix for it in the thread. Search the thread for Hulu and you should be able to find it. (I am not sure of this because I don't use the rom, but I believe I read something about it when I tried it out.)
Battery life if tough to compare due to reasons above. When I was syncing a corporate email account via active sync I was getting 9-10 hours o this rom. I am no longer using active sync and right now am at 15 hrs 37 minutes since unplugged at 62%. Awake time is about 5 hours on this charge. This is with stock battery.
Exchange active sync is a hog.
I use my phone pretty often and Im usually texting and browsing on the net. But my battery life is maybe 6 or 7 hours? I haven't really gone all the way down to empty but that seems about right. Is that decent?

That's not quite good. On my stock battery I'm getting around 15-25 depending on use. Maybe check your settings for battery hogs?
I'm using chads kernel, have sync on every hour for weather and my friend stream tied accounts.no gps on though.

I'm not sure what's wrong with my phone. My battery usage says that most of my battery is being used by cell standby and the android system. Should I reflash the rom and see if that helps? I want incredible battery life too this battery life is pretty much the same as a stock rom which is why I flashed in the first place : more battery life!

I'm not a power user but I get better battery life with this ROM. Yeah, maybe you should wipe and re-install the ROM. I would then not install any apps and see what your battery life is like. Disable auto-syncing too. Maybe you have an app sucking the battery down.
Is there an app that i can download to monitor my battery usage? I know you can check it through the "About Systems " menu but I almost don't trust it.

Running a faster rom like re engineered, if battery life is super important, you can use setcpu to underclock slightly at all times, and lot at screen off. It comes with a lou's kernel, which he doesn't recommend using setcpu with, but I've always had great luck with king klix kernals, which also undervolt.

Try a custom kernel. If ur on sense try netarchys kernel. If ur on aosp like me try tiamat sbc kernel with viperboys scripts or savaged zen. I use tiamats sbc tho with vb scripts

Do you have a really poor signal and lots of stuff trying to sync? I have a horrible signal at my home and it will kill the battery really quick but at my office where I have a great signal it will last much much longer.

I have the same problem.... But it last more then 5 hrs, maybe 7-9... 9 being least used. I have notice it being a problem with this phone (from other users). I found a better battery at best buy for bout $45. Supposed to last 2x longer, ima try it out. Anyone have any input on this alternate battery... At bare minimum I'll have a back up.

If it is the platinum 3500 battery, it will be great. It's the retail version of the Seidio 3500. I picked one up a month ago. I originally bought a Laza 3500 from Amazon which wasn't much better than my stock 1500. I'm loving the Platinum though.

There are many factors that deal with battery life. Since you say you use it for texting, then you either have your phone on all the time or you are constantly turning the lockscreen on and off (I am a texter too). If you're rooted then try the kernels suggested above, they'll help BIG TIME. You can also try another rom; other roms just have great battery life. If you're not rooted, then set your phone to never search for wifi signals and only use 3G, GPS, and bluetooth whenever you need to.

i thought stock battery life was good. Maybe it is something running in the background that is killing your batter.
Being rooted you can remove a lot of bloatware to save battery life.

All superuser (root) is is a program designed to grant applications admin access to the device, rooting itself inpacts performance/stability in NO way whatsoever..
if you want better battery life, i recommend flashing a custom rom

which gives you access to remove bloatware... did you miss that part? If you strip down your phone and freeze/uninstall apps that ran in the background and/or used data when you don't want it to, then you will improve your battery life.
I think you fail to see what the OP was asking. it was about battery life, not performance or stability.
if you check the running applications and freeze the ones that run all day then ya better battery but obviously just rooting isnt gonna do it

Im with doug on this one, i think youre taking this too far. The op inquired if a STOCK rooted rom had beyyer battery life as opposed to a unrooted STOCK rom. As doug said, a rooted completely stock rom offers no battery life imprpvements on its own. Now performance to me is defined as the optimal battery life and efficiency of the device.

Darksides and Juggernaut are the pretty much stock with bloatware removed and some additional goodies which are super helpful such as the notification bar toggles. I'm currently using darksides and I'm seeing very good battery life on moderate use (2 hours display time at 50% brightness, 1 hour on Spotify streaming music and I'm down to 30% battery. Total uptime since last charge 13 hours 51 minutes.) Perhaps not the best battery life out there but it does the job for me. Also if you're gonna install either ROM, undervolt the cpu as well as underclocking it. It really doesn't affect the performance, its hardly noticeable actually.

Ah i see what you guys are getting at. Just misinterpretation of both parties. Yes rooting itself does nothing, but obviously something is killing the op's battery. I was trying to inform the benefits of having root and how it may improve his battery life by removing whatever is killing his phone.. However if it's from an app he uses then no help there.

If you want better battery life you can always try change the kernel first. You don't need to do pesky full wipes so you retain pretty much all your settings and stuff.
To start off, I think Faux's is pretty awesome.
You're not going to gain leaps and bounds in battery life until you find what is eating all that power on your phone. It is typically an app you installed, as I don't find the t-mobile pre-installed ones to be that horrible, except for lookout security. I think that'll be a big potential battery hog. OR it can simply be your screen brightness. The trick I find is to set it on the lowest setting and just be SOL when you're outside I mean heck, I really want that battery life!
You can always practice better battery saving techniques, like not leaving the wifi or wireless data on when not in use.
Has anyone tried this app yet. Seems to have good reviews.

what do you think of it? i tried juice defender a while ago, but it freaking shut off my radio and i missed calls/texts for 2 days!!

I use jd consistently and have never missed a call or text. It doesn't shut off the radio for that unless you change the settings.

i dont know why battery saving programs like to kill your radio if your signal or battery is low......that's the whole point of having a cell phone!!
None of these "battery saving" apps work. And all the things they do can be done manually. If something has to run in the system to "save" battery... it uses battery attempting to save battery.

Well i notice that when i dont use JD i lose a good few hours on my battery.
JD does help when i ran W/O it on i went from 100% to 92% in 10 mins all i did was mess with some settings in the menu of the phone not JD.

I thought that's what the Task manager on the phone is for? I remember when I first got my phone at sprint they told me not to download any battery savers or task killers because they "bump heads" with the stock task manager. If I'm wrong please let me let me know.

No things have changed reason is they think that if you use the TW Task Manager it will kill thee battery app but if you know how to use either both for example Juice Defender has the option to stay in status bar so it won't be killed if you kill apps on the Task Manager, but why would you kill the app in the 1st place if you knew it saves battery.

I agree, and I am lazy, but I don't get better results doing it manually because I usually forget. My phone is a tool, I have enough important things to remember about rather then whether my wi-fi is on or not.
And if that fails, I always have my extra battery, or desk charger, or car charger etc. . .

One of the best things I have done to DRAMATICALLY increase my battery was to change the kernel, ROM and undervolt. I found the best combination for me was to use Shadowkernel v1.04, Legendary ROM and then manually change the voltage settings by about 10% or more.
I used to drain about 10% an hour on standby with wifi but now I'm down to about 1-3%. I drain about 6-10% an hour when I'm using the phone. The only problem I have is when I have a very bad signal, then my battery life goes down over 10% but I think I would have the same problem regardless of whether I modified my phone or not. I don't use any battery saver programs at all now.
