hi guys, I also posted this in the cyanogen mod topic
here's me thing.
after flashing cyanogen mod 6.1 (newest one) my desire shutted down, started the flashin process, and then popped in the cyanogen animations which is now infinite looping.
I rooted with unrevoked (latest)
installed clockworkmod recovery using Rom manager from the market
this flash was succesfully
then I downloaded the rom with rom manager
checked the googleapps option
selected the rom, checked wipe data and cache (already made a backup before)
Phone restarted, flashed for a while.. then went to the HTC screen, left the HTC screen and started the cyanogenmod animation. this animation is now looping and looping and looping, nothing happends.
what must I do, its my first post here, and i am very new to this.
thanks in advance for your reply and help

Sounds like an Apps2SD/Data2EXT partiion issue. Have you correctly partitioned your SD card beforehand? This is a requirement with custom ROMs. If you have not partitioned your SD card then this type of symptom (constant bootloop) can occur.

[Q] Stuck at bootscreen after every single custom ROM flash.

hi
I´ve rooted and flashed my desire several times. rooted with unrevoked3 everytime and tried different roms like leedroid 2.2d, 2.2 f and rcmixhd 0.13. First time i did it i flashed leedroid 2.2d and it worked fine. After 1,5 months running leedroid my phone rebooted due to the overheating problems that 50 % of us suffer from (i rebooted it manually several times during those months and it worked until this day).
It got stuck at the bootupscreen with white background and green HTCtext. couldn´t install RUU via windows, had to grab the PB99IMG.zip onto my SD and boot into bootloader and restore my phone this way. Then i rooted it AGAIN, and flashed rcmixhd 0.13. Success! But only until i rebooted it manually, stuck at bootupscreen again.
I restored the phone from SD with pb99img as earlier. Flashed rcmixhd again and made sure i wiped everything (dalvik, cache, formatted sdcard and created a EXT), success! Until i rebooted my desire...back again.
Now im running stock non-rooted froyo. I´m getting tired of spending the night fixing it but i still want to use senseHD and i like tweaking stuff..
Do any of u guys recognize this problem and what can i do to fix it?
If any of you are from sweden, plz answer in swedish!
Same problem here, the only way i got to install a custom rom was by installing update-cm-6.1.0-Desire-signed.zip. Then installed a custom rom by using the "Rom Manager" tool.
Downloading and flashing through recovery mode, "No, can do!"
Ok, but "update-cm-6.1.0-Desire-signed.zip" isn´t that a custom ROM? Did you install that through ROM manager?
And did you flash another ROM on top of it?

yes this is a custom rom, i did a normal flash first to "update-cm-6.1.0-Desire-signed.zip" (some how that worked???). Then i reflashed through the "ROM manager" tool.
Do you remember to always wipe everything in Recovery before flashing a new rom?
Seems like I always used to have a bootloop or bootfreeze when did not do the proper wipe.

i wiped everything even the Dalvik Cache, didn't help a thing.
Could is be that is has something to do with rom's that are not signed?
I have this same problem now, any possible sollutions?
Perdonally i would suggest to reformat your sd cards and try again. Dont forget to wipe everything.

Happend to me once or twice.
What to do is, Turn of the phone take out battery do the neccessary wipes and formatting,
root
install clockwork mod from market, go to it and choose install recovery
install rom
install kernel (might affect it somehow)
reboot

[Q] DHD won't boot

Hi, i need a bit of advice.
I followed this guide (including Install engineering version of HBOOT to get S-Off):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841076
Everything went smoothly.
I did my backup of current Rom in Rom Manager.
Then downloaded and installed cm 6.1.3 and my phone now will not boot. It hangs on the HTC screen (before the quietly brilliant part)
I can still get into recovery so I tried Wiping and restoring the backup i did earlier, and it still won't boot. I downloaded the CM 6 file again just to double check and the same thing happend, still no boot.
Can anyone help?
Am i missing something completely obvious?
what version of recovery are you using ?

Have you tried to flash CM7 or other ROMS?
It's ok now all sorted. Yes I tried cm6 and cm7 but I figured out the problem. I had the new version of clockwork recovery (3) I downgraded to Pauls version over at modaco and worked great after that. So I'm guessing there is a problem with the new one.

clockwork backup not working

Hi i rooted my 2.1 update 1 defy with superoneclik 2.1 installed on it clockwork PAID from market and installed the the version 2.xxxxx and received an white warning sign with a little android tryed with the newer one sam thing what can i do
please help me
please help him
Dowload Defy 2ndInit off the android market, or search for the APK on here. When flashing the files, make sure you go into recovery mode by pushing the volume down button when the blue LED on your phone lights up.
Hello xDA Defy forums,
i recently installed CM7 RC0 on my defy and i'm very satisfied. It was a bit tricky for me and had to install it like 3 times because everytime when I was completely finished with my fresh installation + apps and customizations I wanted to backup the whole system with ClockworkMod.
The backup runs fine but the problem is that my defy won't boot after the backup. It seems that if I reboot to recovery with ClockWork my defy won't boot AFTER having installed CM7 (before CM7 I used ClockWork very often and it worked just fine). I'm using the "com.kb7sqi.defy.bootstrap.old.apk".
Now I'm asking: Which recovery software could I use to backup my nice working CM7 installation?
I think I can't use 2ndInit because the FAQ says:
DO NOT INSTALL THIS IF ARE YOU ALREADY RUNNING CYANOGENMOD. That ROM already has bootmenu pre-installed, and you'll probably end up having to flash an SBF file to recover your phone.

This is another thing I was wondering about. Where is the pre-installed bootmenu the quote refers to? If I am starting my defy for recovery (Vol down) only the standard boot menu without backup-features appeares although I have CM7 installed.
So how can I backup my current ROM. I really don't want to go through the whole process of flashing and customizing again..
Edit SOLVED:
Ok guys, I just found out how to enter the new boot menu. I had to press vol down after the blue LED. Sorry, I didn't know this. I was able to do a backup with with ClockWork 3.2 which appeared to be installed with Cyanogen. And much more important my phone rebooted properly after this.

[Q] Problem Installing Rom 'Android Revolution HD™ 7.0.0'

Hello,
I'm having trouble getting the following ROM to boot after install:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493404
I have the following:
-S-OFF
-HBOOT-0.76.2000
-RADIO-26.03.02.26_M
-ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.7
I copied the new ROM to SDcard, rebooted to recovery. Performed factory data reset, installed the zip from SD card. It installs successfully, attempts to boot, after white screen with green HTC logo, it reboots to recovery.
I ran an MD5 check on the zip file, verified it was correct. Copied it to SDcard and tried again, no luck. Then I tried installing it from within ClockworkMod Recovery, including wipe options, same thing.
Any ideas?
I'm running into the same issue with most sense 3.5 roms. Beatsrom, Blissdroid, and this one...
But I don't have issues with some others like Andromadus and some MIUI rom that looks like WP7(I can't recall it's name)..
I'm pretty confused on what's wrong since I always do a full wipe before flashing.
If you have a T-Mobile G2, and want to run sense 3.5 roms, you have to install desire z bootloader. I have not done it myself, but here is a video on how to do it. I'm sure if you search there are other guides on how to install the desire z bootloader.

Perfect. Thank you.
Yup, thanks a lot.
Tip to those trying this at home: once you are done with it, remove the PC10IMG.zip from the root of your SD card to be able to boot into recovery without it asking to reflash. Thanks again ACHILLES R32.

[Q] Help! Stuck in bootloop

Hi guys! Happy New Year!!
I have a problem, I run MiNCO v6 ROM and till yesterday it worked properly, but i found the volume a little bitt low, so i installed Vomer's patch audiov5, available in his modding thread and designed for MiNCO ROMs, which didn't gave me any problem with past MiNCO ROM versions live v5 or v4.
So I went to recovery, installed mod from .zip and rebooted; after 5 minutes the device was still blocked on a screen saying: "Android Upgrade, Application starting..." or something like that; so i decided to remove battery, and put it back again. From this moment the phone is stuck in boot loop, if i turn it on it block on MINCO logo.
I can access recovery using fastboot mode so i tried to restore from a Nandroid i had on the device but recovery said there were no files, i don't know why.
SO what can i do?? I have original ROM zip saved on the memory of the device, maybe i could wipe cache and flash fresh ROM?? Do i need to wipe also data and dalvik?? Other solutions??
Thanks.
Wipe data. Flash a known good rom. I don't see why you needed to make a thread when you could get to recovery.
