I switch back and forth between different ROMs frequently, but for some reason I needed to redownload the CM6.1 using ROM Manager and when I do so it will not allow me to download the Google Apps. It simply gives me a Download Error. Anyone have any suggestions? I am currently still using CM6.1 but without any gmail or google apps.
Thanks in advance.
You can get the Google Apps yourself from my site (the official mirror):

You'll want the HDPI version.

Hey,
I'm running the HTC sense UI, that came with my phone, which I haven't rooted.. And I would like to know if anyone could tell me how can I update programs that came preinstalled..? Because they don't show up in the market, and I would like the new updated google maps, that just came out.. in settings->about->system software update I've tried checking for updates, but still nothing..
Thanks for any help you can provide me
Yeah sometimes the market doesn't detect the apps that are already installed on my phone. I usually just click install even if it doesn't say update. Have you tried just installing the Google Maps application from the market? I believe the updated version came out yesterday.
Sent from my HTC DZ using XDA app
Sometimes the market doesn't detect all of my apps as well... The fix is to clear the market cache!
clearing market cache didn't do it.. and oh well.. now i can't even find the maps on the market anymore.. so who knows what's going on ..
This happens to me too on every single ROM I've tried (stock, Cyanogen, Virtuous). There's always several apps that the market doesn't detect me as having, but the one that always seems consistent is Maps. I generally just install Maps from the market manually. This puts an extra Maps applicaton in the /data folder even though Maps already exists in the /system folder. Since I have a rooted device, I then manually delete the maps apk from the system folder.
Super simply fix. Just download aTrackdog by a0soft. It will detect every app you have installed and check to see if there are any updates. If there are you can download them either from the market or the developers website (if one exists). It will even track apps that aren't on the market, like Wireless Tether. And you don't need root for it. Should do the trick, hope it helps.
Rooted with unrevoked. loaded CM7 and after i sign into google account i get a force close on process com.teamdouche.pacman
i think that is why i dont have the market available or apps. help?
try reinstalling gapps again it might help
Was updating to the latest cm7 nightly from the latest Miui nightly. I don't have any custom kernels or anything. I opened rom manager, found the file, selected wiped everything and rebooted. it installed fine BUT it did not prompt me to log into my gmail account or take me to the market to install gapps. In fact, I didn't even have a market
I tried syncing my gmail manually through settings but it setting unable to connect to server, even though I have perfect 3g. I then downloaded the market apk but when I loaded it I couldn't log in either. I was on cm7 for a long time. I don't know why this is happening now. I tried flashing previous nighties like #133, 121, etc etc
I'm now back on Miui after endless times of trying to flash cm7. Miui is fine and all but I really want CM7 again.
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
I had the same problem, you need to download the Gapps zip from the cyanogen thread on this site then you will have the market and gmail.
I'm Running Blazers 3.3 ROM and I can't install a few apps from the Market, I tried to download them online but it's saying its not compatible with my device when I literally had them before I switched over. I wasn't able to back up the App as usual because it was a "Private" App. If anyone can help me out that would be AWESOME!
I changed my Bell P930 from rooted ICS to CM 10.1 RC2 but quickly discovered it didn't include any Google apps. I really don't care about most of the Google apps, but I'd definitely like to have Google Play and Maps. I went to the Google Play website but didn't see Google Play as an option as an app to install. Additionally, I didn't find it as easy to add on accounts besides Exchange or email accounts. Is this just what you get or is there an easy way to make it a little bit more like the Android experience I'm used to?
In the meantime, I've restored my CWM backup. I'm not sure what I'm gaining by switching if I lose the ability to easily install apps on my smartphone or sync with my Gmail and FB accounts.
Hoping for a real JB release from LG/Bell but doubting that will ever come!
Thanks for your help.

Thanks, I will give this a shot.
cyanogenmod comes with no bloatware so you have to install even google apps if you want them, the link is already there just being clear that it is normal for them not to be there and you are suposed to install them on first install but u dont need to reinstall when updating CM
